I like the minimalism, simplicity and modesty of this jet. If I had the money and needed one, I would buy one. And fly it by myself.

Auto industry is highly competitive. The aerospace industry is very much old boys club. The fact that Honda's first jet is so much more interesting than its peers is telling.

Offering upgrade packages for existing aircraft is a fantastic idea for keeping your customers loyal, instead of forcing them to buy a new plane.

I worked for 3 years in the manufacturing of the structural parts of this aircraft in Alabama, what a great experience it was and what an awesome piece of engineering this is.

I live 5 mins away from the factory! I was excited when I started seeing them flying close to my house a few years ago 😊

The Hondajet looks very well made and it's design looks solid and minimalist. As a whole, a well rounded package for a small private jet. Well done Honda!

I sold the Telemetry Receiver/Combiner systems for their North Carolina facility and enjoyed my three visits there to train their Telemetry Engineers how to use the equipment. They were dedicated and friendly guys.

I remember seeing this land at my work in the UK when it was under test with a special permit to fly. They were obviously tying to gain EASA or UKCAA certification at the time. Neat little thing, looked smart and seemed to have great performance unlike the ageing business jets that we were operating.

One of the major advantages of placing the engines like this is they actually become more difficult to have a compressor stall .. with distances out and above the entire airframe this allows for clean air to enter and this allows other surfaces to function more efficiently

I was able to get inside one of these in a Detroit expo back in 2014, it is so awesome. I love how you can adjust the tint of the windows to limo levels of darkness.

Pretty jet. I saw one in Cody,Wyoming yesterday. I’m sure it lives up to Honda engineering standards.

I work for Subaru and we're making our own Huey variants as cheap export models with Bell. Subaru merged its Fuji Heavy Industries in 2017. We also make our aircraft in the US.

I have learned that anything Honda makes it will be high quality and last a very long time. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Saw it at EAA Oshkosh that first or second year... so flippin' cool. I was speechless. Just stood there with my mouth open for a long time. Beautiful plane.

Engines above the wings means the rare water ditching would be more survivable since the nacelles wouldn't act as sudden brakes when they would hit the water if they were under the wing.

there's currently a Honda jet parked in Denton, TX, in a hangar owned by my employer, that I get to see every so often. It is kind of cool to look at in real life.

Thank you Sky for mentioning the VFW 614! I really like the HondaJet but if I ever hear again that this is the first plane to have this engine arrangement, I will snap someone's neck.... Your presentation is the most completed review of the plane. (Unfortunate that the new version just came out a bit too late to be included.) I think a different nose design in the future would be beneficial...something more rounded, yet of course advantageous as far as aerodynamics go. Side note: Sky, cannot thank you enough for including both metric and standard units! The added effort speaks volumes! SPASIBO!🛫

I saw this it the EAA Oshkosh AirVenture back in 2012. Thought it was super cool. I was disappointed it didn't fly while was there.

Never saw this plane in person but looks quite a solid first entry

I followed its creation and developement back in the early 2000's. Honda presented its mockup at the festivals of speed in St.petersburg florida in 2004 at albert witted airport during the boatshow. To see it in person was amazing. it was so off the radar for most people but i loved seeing its progress. Today my interest is in the Lilium Jet. which is the most revolutionary aircraft to come along since the Honda Jet. This is simply the best electric vtol aircraft going thru its paces of certification. its going to change the way we travel. Where high speed rail fail in most cities due to enourmous fee's, such an aircraft requires no infrastructure to build outside of a few very simple landing pads. which in many ways see themselves becoming a franchised business unto itself. The more places to land, the more business and passengers the more the industry grows.

Fun Fact: my alma mater, Mississippi State University in Starkville MS has an aviation research facility in town, that participated in the development of some of the Hondajet components back in the late 90's and early 2000's.

Another advantage of having the engines on pylons is that it's just a _minor refit_ to replace them with Warp nacelles.
