I could go *so* extra with that! Pecans, walnuts, hazel nuts, lemon juice, and honey as a base which I would reduce over low heat until it's a glaze consistency. I'd use nut butters as an option instead of butter. I'd make a hot pepper "pesto" with cashews {I hate pine nuts} for a hot version. I also recently saw some very dense Jewish rye that might be interesting for this application, though any soft dense seed bread would work. I could see this being the star of a whole damn tea party
