Other than throwing a towel over this thing, how do you turn down the bright blue light this gives off? Crazy how much glow this gives off on the living room walls at night.
Question, can you run more than of these thermostats in the app, like the emerson sensi. Where do i connect my c wire in the boiler/ of the transformer?
Well now, thats a little difficult to judge when all i can see is around the thermostat. I would have to see your cut in job, and and weather or not you were able to keep your wall color form getting on your ceiling, and weather or not you were able to keep it off your Base boards when you were cutting in above it. My Wife would always have to tell me when we would go over to any of my Nephews or Nieces apartments or New houses, " Now dont start pointing out all the mistakes the painters did on their place, just point out the good stuff, Lol, Im a little meticulous when it comes to my Profession, Lol, Cheers Buddy
My old Thermostat did not use the C wire but there are extra wires to the thermostat. How can I tell if one of these is the C wire, just see if I have 24v on any and that is the C?
Hi, I moved to a house that already had one of these installed. I see nothing in any of the menu's to connect to my wifi. How can I go about connecting it to my wifi? I made an account online and it's asking for the macID and MacCRC which appears on the device after completing the wifi setup steps. But I can't get to the wifi setup steps. Do I need to do a factory reset, and if so how do I do that on this device?
Would you have any idea why when I turn on the ac the heater comes on and when I turn on the AC nothing comes on? I had called them and they helped me because my "OB" wire was in the same place as my "W1" meaning g on the new thermostat they were trying to connect to the same connection. He helped me and then I tried it and it all looked good we hung up and then the went on vacation for the Holidays so now stuck in the heat with no ac if anyone can help thanks
i have one of these and it has a really neet hidden feature. when your power goes out the thermostat can no longer control the fan speed on your blower. you have to pull it off the wall so it power off again, reset your panel on your fan motor and the reset the thermostat settings from scratch... other than that its awesome !
Thats weird. Same model? The manual states that "If it loses power, all the settings are saved in the onboard memory. When the power comes back on, the thermostat will continue to function as it should without needing any action from you."
the first part of that is 100% correct.... the second, not so much LOL... it also could just be my board/system on my blower and heater. I have a carrier...
I have this thermostat and I cant figure out how to open it up again to get at the wires. I am afraid I am going to break it. Do I need a flat head to push a tab or something? Or d o I just pull hard enough and it will release?
Do you know how to get it to operate hands off? I don't want to have to set it to heat when I need heat then back to A/C when I need A/C. I thought it's supposed to automatically change between heating and cooling when it needs to.
Go to "MENU" > "Preferences" > "Advanced Preferences" After you set up the advanced Preferences for auto change over. Go to "System" on the main thermostat display and select "Automatic"
Can you help. We had a new HVAC installed a couple of years ago. We never did anything with the thermostat. So now we want to use the setback features. But I think this Honeywell unit will only let you do it WiFi. The model is Resideo 69-2814EFS. Do you know anything about it or whatever?
I installed this thermostat and it’s working but the fan won’t turn off when it’s cooling. I can switch to heating and the fan will turn off. I installed a second identical thermostat downstairs that shares the same hvac unit and it works fine. Weird! I can put the old thermostat back on and everything works perfectly again. My new thermostat and control board are both Honeywell.
Will this thermostat operate a Model 600 Bypass humidifier that's been recently installed? Another words will this RTH9580 thermostat control the humidifier instead of the digital humidistat?... and how does it read the OUTDOOR temp and humidity? Are outdoor sensors provided with the Honeywell RTH9580 so they can be installed outdoors?
@@TheRealCobraBurnout Thanks, but that's NOT the answer to my Technical questions. Sure the Thermostat can be operated remotely through the appropriate App. But that's NOT the question. Thanks for trying.
@@TheRealCobraBurnout Thanks again, so this Honeywell Thermostat cannot operate a furnace installed Digital Bypass Humidifier w/Humidistat, and its outdoor readings are simply regional averages, not sight specific? Too bad, but thanks again for clearing it up!
I bought my home not to long ago. This system is already installed but the the time on the unit is incorrect. How do I change the time do I need to restore?
Setting the time/date 1 Touch the current time. The screen displays Set Time/Set Date. 2 Touch Set Time or Set Date. 3 Touch p or q until the proper time/date is displayed. 4 Touch Done to save or Cancel to ignore changes. Note: This thermostat will automatically update for daylight saving time (if observed in your area) and all date/time information is stored. If the thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and registered to Total Connect Comfort, the current time is updated from the internet.
It is possible a that you need to doublecheck the configuration of your thermostat. If you have a Heat Pump system, most likely you set the thermosstat for a conventional system.
I kmow this is montha late... i hope you, or someone can answer this for me..... Do you have to set schedules? I have an older model Honeywell now and it has set schedules and I hate it.
See if there is one "not used" in the wire bundle probably tucked in the wall. Here is my vid on that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5YUqWZG5VPg.html Or use one of the adapters that plugs in to a wall socket. amzn.to/3LSPzu
Mine won't power on, bought over year ago for new house being built. I have it installed properly, but it doesn't show screen, could batteries be dead because of how long it has been on original package without use.
It doesn’t run off batteries. The C wire (usually blue) needs to be plugged into the back of the unit and connected to the power on furnace. The older thermostats used batteries. These don’t. They need continuous power.
I can set my schedule thru the phone app. So, I'm not sure what you are talking about? Its super easy to do as well. Open the app, click the Schedule button at the bottom and have at it.
@@TheRealCobraBurnout You are correct. For some reason I could not see the bottom portion of the app when I first started it. But after closing it and reopening it, I was able to see the button for schedule. Thanks for the video and thanks for the reply!
I have the same thermostat but Can not figure out why it never powered on . I check the wiring, shut the main power off switched it back on but still didn’t power up. The
