Thanks to these videos, my guild has gone from bottom rung (we renamed and started mists with a completely new mindset so the server really didn't know us) to top of the server on progression. I love you guys.

We killed this boss a few weeks ago, I would just like to point out that jalak's spawn isn't based on when horridon smashes his face into the fourth door, it's a strict timer once the 4th door begins. You could ignore the 4th orb completely and just leave it there and jalak would still spawn at the same time.

No, it has to be direct damage (usage of dots would trivialize the mechanic anyway). If you cast icy touch or serpent sting, the add will be knocked back only once. However, if you're on an elemental sham you can have your searing totem target it and continually knock it back. Shadow priest shadowy apparitions also count as direct damage and will knock the add back as well.

Another thing with the orb if you have a monk pick it up and they use spinning crane kick it will stop the channeling and it will still count so everyone can go do what they do without having to lock someone down on the orb each time

theres 1 more mechanic to the orb channel that you havnt covered, not aware if its a bug with monks or not, but using spinning crane kick during the channel will stop the channel, but Horridon will still smash his head towards the door and not lock you out of action during the channel.

We found it's very helpful to use the DKs army on 3rd door. It gives the adds more targets to charge and put dots on except those targets don't need to be healed. So on 3rd door we do the DK army, shaman elementals and all other similar stuff.

you can cancel the orb cast and horridon still charges the door. in our raid i (ww monk) often click it first and then use spinning crane kick to cancel the cast.

Just a quick tip, as a blood dk, use army at the 3rd door because all of the adds will go for the undead minions instead of players.

It IS a good question, but as you might realised from prev comment, it dosn't work like that. However, as hunter u simply switch ur pet between boss and direhorn. Also, Barrage is VERY effective against those direhorns :)

Got it today, raid comp was 2 rogues (fml), mage, warlock, shadow priest, ele shammy, Brewmaster tank (op on last phase, under powered on all others), blood dk (who got 1 shot last phase) and resto druid + mistweaver monk. Hardly an optimal comp. Hardest part for us was the 4th gate, got a rogue to sit on the flamecaster(s) to lock it down and the tank did take the extra bear. Other gates weren't a problen. 50 wipes later we got it :).

So clarify why you shouldn't jump out of ANY ground of AoE effect: When you jump, even though you visually comprehend your toon is moving... The game mechanic register your toon at the point you initiated the jump (point A). And the game will not register that you have moved to where you land until your toon's feet once again meet the 'ground' (point B). Jumping effectively has you stay at point A (in this case the nasty ground AoE) until you come to point B (safe-ness).

taunt works :) for paladin and monks, druids you can kite it while spamming hots, shamans you can LB with glyph, or inturpt works too, priests um just holy fire or smite/ any thing else think the dot works (implication not dot) ulti

Had a cool thought while watching this guide (thanks btw good guide as always) on heroic whoever clicked the orb actually controlled Horridon as if a special mount. The successful mechanic being that the tank(s) group up the adds, and the person controlling Horridon charges the group of adds, double swiping them for loads of damage, however the tanks need to stay in the double swipe to hold all the adds there aka putting some pressure on the healers etc... woulda coulda shoulda isnt... :(

Never jump while running out of the Double Swipe area, or you risk getting hit by it just like the tank did here. Just run out, then jump after you're clear of the Double Swipe if your toon has ADHD and must jump.

I just checked the Wow Progress and he was in Assassination, so burst dps. That's what spec I was in for Heroic as well. Just put ruptures on anything in sight.

But your shadowy apparitions can, so if you are a shadow priest and you focus them a lil your apparitions will knock them back for ages along with cascade, the direhorn barely bothers me during this.

So I haven't done this on my warrior yet, but I cant see why "Throw" wouldnt work to knock the pink add back. So what I'm planning to do is to put the add on focus and use this macro: /target focus /use Throw /targetlasttarget. That way you dont have to target it everytime you want to pushback it. Should work (for warriors atleast).

They do, but it prioritizes ranged and healers first, so assuming all your dps isn't melee, they don't get it until the last phase.

You guys made a major mistake in describing paladin abilities. Divine Protection has nothing to do with clearing Triple Puncture stacks. The two paladin abilities that can clear Triple Puncture stacks are Hand of Protection and Divine Shield. Divine Protection reduces magic damage by 40% or glyphed it reduces all damage by 20%.

We were doing that, having 2 DK's who can pop Army, but had issues with adds being grouped up in one spot and too many frozen orbs making it hard for our dps to kill them.

Crackling Jade Lightning (Monk) Moonfire (Druid) Judgement/Holy Shock (Pally) Holy Fire (Priest). Doesn't seem that bad. Those are all instant cast spells.

I seen a forum that said for Holy Paladins to use "Reckoning" on the Direhorn. I thought they would only be knocked back from damage. Has anyone else tried this to see if it did a knockback as well? using reckoning would be a lot more mana efficient to use than some of my other attacks.

I get those as a tank in the enraged horridon phase. With a 200% damage debuff and normally around 250kish+ vengeance, it's very possible

Liking the new xmog Nimtaz! I have a question for ya. Did you use clemency or Unbreakable spirit for this? I'm a prot pally that'll be tanking this, and I'd definitely like to give a shot at solo tanking the boss through the doors.

Tank damage is pretty minimal after war-god dies, maanged to kill it after both healers dying with war god @ 5%, admittedly both tanks died at 10% but kiting ftw!

well, TBH Horde racials are so much better for PvE then alliace. Trolls have a mini-lust and +5%dmg to beast (which are quite a few boss in ToT) Orcs deal more dmg with their pets and get a big atk power CD goblins get faster atk speed, cheaper repair, better alchemy, and a forward disengage to help mobility. Bloodelfs get a mana regen CD (+6%) and a silence Tauren get +5% base health and an AoE stun Undead get a life steal (Touch of the Grave) which is very nice and a fear/charm/sleep trinket

Do you have any advice passing the second door? It seems we can`t pass it due poison. It could we lack dps so we passed him and doing tortoc and ji-kun hc. I`m playing a Troll Priest Disc.
