Started working on this couple weeks ago and came to same conclusion about the capo. Decided to try playing it on 7th fret w/o capo substituted capo with bar chords. At first kind of tough but getting there .was looking for chorus came across your video. Really cool . I might take your chords and play them in the same key as capo. I am going to also try it your way since I’m not an alto tenor!
Yea, I've actually done that too where I substitute the capo with barre chords, also works well, but not as well for my vocal range. I'm glad this video is helpful, good luck!
What I like with your video tutorials is that it's a step by step thing. I am a new player (less than a year) and this song actually does look doable now! Cheers for that from France ;)

@@MTGuitar Well I can't play it yet but gonna start working on it from tomorrow. It's a great song and I have time. I found that learning guitar teaches patience and humility. I play every night at home. It's become my "me moment" of the day. It's nice to concentrate on just one thing and forget about everything else... Take care :)

Sure. So the A7/C# is 4th fret fifth (A) string and 2nd fret fourth (D) string. The strings picked with the right hand, played in order, are 5th, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 4th, 3rd, all the strings (5th through 1st). The 4th string acts as the in between string, or back and forth, from the 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and 3rd strings which are essentially the melody. So, you could start with just 5th string, 4th string, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, and add in the 4th string as a back and forth when you get that done. It's not easy! I hope I made this less confusing as opposed to more confusing. Feel free to comment again if you need more clarification.

@@SirAsianInvasion Definitely! That's great to hear. Look at some of my CAGED system videos, that will point out many of the areas where you can play chords and triads. You can start to incorporate melodies and scales into those shapes, and then you can combine the two. It's a long journey, but it sounds like you are on your way, good luck!
Thanks for the suggestion. I’d like to. On this one actually I had song an entire verse and chorus but the Eagles usually block all videos where are you sing so I had to cut that part out.
Because The Eagles recorded this with capo 7th fret for the intro. However, as I explained in the introduction, it's partly due to Don Henley's high voice, so playing it open without a capo is my preference.
Its a great video but I would like it if chords would be taught for those beginners who dont exactly know where to put their fingers. But good for intermediate players!
@@tristan6773 yeah in some cases. But I think its mostly just because with the shorter length of the strings the resonance just isn't the same. Its just my personal opinion. Not that it can't sound ok when using them I just prefer when they aren't if that makes any sense whatsoever. I guess I'm just picky.
Me too. I think that a capo on the 7th fret is a bit too high for me in general, unless it's a very specific song that requires it. In this specific song, I prefer with no capo because the open chords provide that bass and low end. :)
...... I'm still trying....thank you Mr.Daniels.....mr. jackson suggested that I try to learn the circle of fifths.....but i already made 18 songs .....😖....🎼🎶🎵♥️✝️.....they all came so fast!!.... I didn't ever intend to make a song..... I had my little girl and boy in my head and my heart ....and I took it for granted that Father God....or Mother Mary (Our Lady of Guadalupe)....or other past away dear friends.....sonewhere on ☁️ 9.….where actually noticing. My educated guesses are simple....and logical....and I'm humbled....by outer forces we cannot see around us. Its just a coping mechanism i found.
