It would of been cool to see a 2270 which was a big hit in the 70s and still is on the vintage market. I loved mine and remember saving up my money to buy it when I was a sophomore in college.

Back in the 1980s, I had the pleasure of interviewing Saul Marantz (by telephone) for a magazine article on pioneers of hif. I also spoke with Paul Klipsch and David Haffler (co-founder of Dynaco).

I love Marantz. But I was expecting the space to be a little more plush. It's the trade show snob in me. I've been wined and pampered by auto manufacturers at shows.

I love how they were made in aluminum including the buttons and dials!! Now it’s all plastic 😢 I had no idea it was a American company originally!

Is this a celebration tour or a sales gimmick to very gently remind the consumers about the current models. I would say that the most desired units ever made by Marantz are from the 70's and the fact that they are being omitted from the "gear tour" leaves me to suspect that Marantz corporate owner is not happy that so many are spending their funds in the "vintage market".

Please understand that I was not referring to the information that you were providing, I was simply commenting on the products that "they" had chosen to feature as part of "Marantz 70th Anniversary Celebration". But who knows, I may be wrong in my opinion and there is nothing rare about not displaying some of the best and beautifully designed and still 50 years later some of the most desired receivers that any audio manufacturer has ever produced in the history of audio.
