As far a Jace goes, I think he's just a huge perfectionist. He knows he's a bastard so he feels like he [and Luke] need to be the "ideal" Targaryens to combat that. We see him in ep 8 beating himself up over learning High Valyrian, and now he's pressuring his little brother in the same way when training. It is rude but well-intentioned, I don't think he's an outright bully.

I always thought it was dumb for Rhaenyra to send her son's out as messengers during a time like that. I get that she didn't expect anything to happen but when someone has kept your father's death a secret just so they could crown their son as King then she should've been very wary of letting her children out of sight especially since Rhaenys told her that the Greens were coming for her and her children. I also thought when Daemon choked Rhaenyra it was because she was acting like Viserys and Daemon wanted her to WAKE UP! But I feel like Rhaenyra got her wake up call once she got the news of her son's death.

People saying they should have slowed the season down🙄 This is literally just an introduction to the characters and their motives, season one is basically like a prologue.. it’s like this in the books. King viserys is not even a big character in the books like he is in the show, they talk about him only for like 47 lines in the book.. yet in the show they got 8 episodes out of him. That’s a lot! Mind u season 1 is basically copying about only 30 pages. That’s not much at all to work with, and I think they’ve done great. In the books this part is just brief history.. the actual dance dance is only just beginning. There is sooo much more to come, they will expand into different locations and bring in different houses and new main characters. Why are y’all moaning? More seasons are coming and we are only JUST beginning!! 2 years is loooong to wait tho 😅

Rhaenyra was upsetting me this episode, she had so many opportunities to kill Otto and she let him go. Otto knew she wasn't about that life that's why he kept popping off at the mouth. I agree with Daemon, just kill them and be done with it.

Vhagar munch munch crunch crunched Arrax and Lucerys with ease, but what did Aemond expect from a dragon that’s been to WAR. They’re not cars, they’re animals! Aemond was wrong for chasing him period, especially in the sky on dragon back. Nothing good was going to come from that.

Poor Luc he looked so scared the the whole time he was in Storm’s End but was still so brave the whole time 🥺🥺 I hate that he was killed like that! This episode was so sooooo good!! Can’t wait for season 2

He’s shown us that many times and it’s weird that people think that violent people are “too loyal” to be violent with their loved ones when most of the time they loved ones are the main ones to feel the brunt of the violence. People even in these comments are trying to “rationalize” what he did by saying he was trying to “wake her up” 😬 no. He’s violent. I love how you review this show. You sound like my friend in my head that I can scream and kiki with about certain scenes, especially the scene when Rhaenyra enters into the Black Council surrounded by her queensguard. For season 2 you should consider doing some live reaction videos. I think we all would have so much fun.

Jace realized after their last encounter with their uncles, that he and Luke were not ready. He realizes the severity of the situation now and in his boyish way he was trying to make his brother battle ready. It looked cruel but it was out of love.

I am very sad about Luke, that whole sequence was devastating to watch, even if you knew what was happening in the books. I love this pivot of accidental death that the show showed, because it gives more layers and context what's going to come next. I was very saddened to see him go, Ray Ray and Luke seemed to have a strong bond that was prematurely broken, I'm sure will lead to her having a scorched earth policy in the next season. Can't wait!!

"Viserys has been slain" was a jaw-dropping display of ridiculousness. Daemon saw Viserys with his own eyes about 48 hours prior. He didn't *need* to be slain 🤦🏻‍♀️ Just wishful thinking on Daemon's part. He wants as many reasons as possible to go to war.

Daemon has seen more war than Rhaenyra. He has fought in more wars than she has. He has more experience in general. Because of this I think she should have let him handle their defense. It’s quite possible her son could have been saved by sending her husband, the excellent fighter to get the message out that he was trying to carry out.

I think Jace wanted Luce to take fighting seriously because he wants him to be well prepared. Out of love

Firstly, the war started episode 1, when Aemma died and Viserys needed to remarry. There was always going to be a war with Otto there. The greens have been playing offense, while the blacks have been playing catching up defense, coming up a day late and dollar short. The blacks should’ve been planning for this when they left kings landing due to the greens plotting and scheming. They are not proactive AT ALL. Rhaenys should’ve burned them up when she had the chance, not for Rhaenrya, but because they locked her ass up as prisoner and was going to kill her if she didn’t swear fealty. Viserys should’ve had Otto killed rather than fired after he found out he had plotted with Alicent to marry him and spied on his child. The blacks have refuse to spill blood while others around them do it with ease. Hopefully they learn to start in season 2.

Jace was trying to toughen Luke up he was not bullying him. In this realm as a man especially Royalty you need to be able to fight and protect yourself and your house.

~ I enjoyed the season....BUT I really hope next season every big thing that happens isn't some mistake or misunderstanding let the people have agency and make their choices good or bad!! Stop this ridiculous pattern of trying too hard to soften people or making them do "bad" out of character stupid crap-just to encourage the Green vs Black dialogue. He shouldn't have put his hand on her but the frustration was her not understanding

You see it throughout shows like this when the men are in the training yard. Remember Arya was getting her tail handed to her across the sea when she was training. Even when she had the dancing master, he was knocking sticks out her hand etc. Jace is a a man and the heir now. He's stepping up. I love to see it.

Aemond killing Luke by accident wasn't a change from the book. The books are written by third hand accounts, often with conflicting and contradictory perspectives. No one was there, so no one heard or saw what went down. So this idea that people are so adamant that Aemond MEANT to kill him makes no sense. The book even says that Aemond bought Alicent Luke's eyes... the very next line says that they never found his body. So if the historians can't even agree whether Aemond bough Alicient Luke's eyes how can anyone be 100% certain he meant to kill sweet Luke. Book readers need to relax.
