Ser Escort Cole is coming for Joffrey's #1 spot on my list of most hated characters in a tv series. Just projecting his failures on Ser Arryk when that man was just minding his business and trying to get a bite to eat before his shift started. I felt so bad for Ser Erryk. I knew he couldn't live after defeating his brother. And of course while that tragedy is taking place, Ser Escort Cole is back with Alicent performing his male escort duties. Another L for the Greens. Team Black! 🖤🖤🖤
Calling it now. Nothing worst than a rejected man. Sir crispy chicken will be her greatest enemy. He a crash out fr. Everything he is and has he owes to rhay rhay. She is who gave him his whole position.
The ending of this episode stuck with me. Alicent can’t even bring herself to comfort her own son in his time of need, and instead went to Criston Cole AGAIN. In contrast to Rhaenyra who immediately went to hug Jace before he even started crying, it really does show the reason why Alicent’s children are the way that they are (Aegon questioning whether or not she loved him, Aemond going off to another woman for maternal comfort, and Helaena sinking away whenever Alicent goes to touch her). Their momma would rather get it on with their kings guard (who failed to protect them) than show them comfort after a traumatic event.
@@hooshoof714Alicent went on about raising her children with spite, fear and hatred, specifically for Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra loved all of her kids and raised them with love, with nothing else in mind but them and their wellbeing. It’s no wonder that Aemond and Aegon are borderline psychopaths…
It makes so much sense for her too, she was raised by Otto who was obsessed with duty and offered her no comfort or nurturing. Also makes sense that she struggles to connect with her kids when her marriage to Viserys was just a duty, and also probably a source of trauma for her. We saw Aemond's conception last season and Alicent was on the verge of tears. This show is great at showing the generational trauma being passed down!
@@tasha5605 it makes sense but it’s also interesting, because even Cersei would go off and be there for Tommen, Myrcella, even Joffrey if something like this were to happen to them, and Cersei was as cruel as they come!! Alicent was always on Rhaenyra’s ass* for the parentage of Rhaenyra’s children, focusing on her and her kids, not minding her own business. And it came to Alicent being with her OWN children and she’s forced to be with her children in the now, with Rhaenyra gone and all is said and done, she just… stood there.
- Abandoned His Post - Gets Jaeharys Killed - Screws His Kings Mom - Has a BITTER resentment for a girl who didn't run away with him when she was HEIR TO THE THRONE - Sent an innocent man to die due to the guilt of his failure -Get Promoted to HAND OF THE KING I hate this guy. Holy shit.
Because they don't care. From the moment the Hightower had a male heir, women are just tools and playthings. Even Alicent would have been discarded if Otto had a say.
I’m pretty sure daemon verbally said “a son for a son” because when cheese was holding onto Haelena blood was like “does that look like a son to you? He said a son” sooo imo daemon def said a son for a son
There was alot of truth in the Damon and rhay rhay scene. Because viserys loved his brother but he didn't trust him AND I do believe that he skipped past daemon to put him in his place. Especially after rhar heir for a day stuff. Both of them told alot of truth
I know they say he’s not violent towards Rhaenyra in the books but considering that man k-worded his first wife and groomed Rhaenyra it doesn’t feel out of character
He also beat that one dude into the dirt just for bearing bad news! And not really even bad news ... it was good news that just made him feel mad, iirc
In the books, kinslaying is like the worst thing someone can do. That clearly doesn't matter to a raggedy person like Aemond, but Erryk would take that ish really seriously, on top of the fact that he genuinely loved his brother too. So naturally he fell on his sword, and it became the stuff of literal legend.
27:17 I don’t feel bad for Otto. This is what he gets for scheming and doing all of this sneaky sh!t. Now his usurper grandson fired him, and he’s having all of these regrets racking up in his head. What did he think will happen to him when he puts a usurper on the thrown??? A usurper who, as you put it, has no self restraint whatsoever. Also I find it funny that this is the SECOND time that he has gotten fired 💀💀
@@taylormade9748 I would have to respectfully disagree. Otto wasn’t “helping” Aegon, he was helping himself. He wanted HIS line on the throne and therefore used his daughter and grandson as a pawn, and it blew up in his face because Aegon isn’t as easy to persuade or control like his father. If Otto had let things be and not usurp the throne , Aegon wouldn’t be in the position where his life is on the line for a throne he didn’t even want.
@@officialmouse8470 in helping himself he was still helping his grandson. Otto was able to have the city draw closer to the king by empathizing with the passing of the heir. Aegon undid this by hanging all of the rat characters. Regadless of where Aegon ended up, knowing this was Otto’s plan, Otto was still putting his family in a high position in society.(wealth, not having to struggle, having status, power) Which is what damn near everyone wants at that time in that world
As much as I'm not a fan of the violent dynamic between Daemon and Rhaenyra, I think people are forgetting they never promised this would follow the book to the letter. The author even said it is the canonical account???
That's how I see HotD; this show is what actually happened instead of what was written in "Fire & Blood". GRRM said in an interview that the GOT books were written by "unreliable narrators".
Baby at this point throw that whole man away. Criston Cole ain’t 💩💩💩 #teamblack #therightfull #theonlyqueenirecognizeisRhaynera #getthemgreensoutofhere😒
Everyone did their thing acting wise omg the anger from Aegon the Nyra and Daemon argument even Otto chewing up his grandson and Cole so good all of it 🎉
I felt so bad for Team Black Erryk 😢 Been stuck between a rock and a hard place from the jump. I also think he took himself out because there would be no way to convince EVERYONE that he wasn't actually Team Green Erryk waiting for another chance to strike; there'd always be some doubt. That would be too much workplace tension for me lmao!
We can't really blame Rhaenyra that she loves her own son more than her stepdaughter. And Baela herself seems have to no problems with that. 🤷🏻♂ Also - rulers often keep their heirs out of enemy's reach and Jacaerys is Rhaenyra's heir, while Baela is not - she is warrior and dragonrider and she is ready and steady to fight for her Queen and her Prince.
@@tribalbassist5227 Errr... here I disagree. It is Baela who hit Aemond first in episode 7, and in episode 8 we see that she was ready to join fight with her cousins, but her sister restrained her. Baela is very fierce, we just haven't seen her properly.
This! I'm getting sick of rhaynera acting like Dany. This is WAR. Whether she did it or not they killed Luke so oh well. Bloodshed is inevitable doesn't mean Helena or the kid deserves it but when your family usurps your throne and kills your son ..what is supposed to happen. WHY we holding her to a nonviolent standard in the midst of a war she didn't start !
Not gonna lie I’m so glad Otto not the hand no more. I cannot stand him but he’s the only competent one on the greens and the only one who’s actually thinking. Lmaoo good luck babes!!
Emma & Matt were GREAT! & both Nyra and Daemon got points across each other. Viserys was definitely both distrustful of Daemon and also scared of him bc Daemon yielded power and enjoyed glory even without the throne, you can see it in his face at the King of the narrow sea episode when he welcomed Daemon, he eas resentful about his own passiveness and this trait might harm Nyra and her kids, considering the situation they find themselves in
This was such a good episode. I've seen some people say that it's unrealistic or ridiculous for it to take Rhaenyra so long to realize that Daemon was responsible for little Jaehaerys' death, but all I can think is that those people clearly mustn't have been in similarly toxic and/or abusive relationships before... I can only speak for myself, but even if you know in your heart that someone is capable of and probably did something, oftentimes your mind tries to play tricks on you and you either just have a blind spot or actively want to convince yourself that they didn't/wouldn't do something so horrible (obviously my partners have never ordered the decapitation of a child, but the point still stands). I think that's where Rhaenyra is. She doesn't trust Daemon and never has. She knows damn well that he's capable of such things, but she just didn't want to see it or outwardly admit it to herself, because that would shatter the false sense of security she's built up with him. Anyways, there were so many great moments in this episode, and the acting was PHENOMENAL as usual!
Nah Alicent definitely didn’t put words in Visery’s mouth. There were too many damn Aegons around and honestly Rhanerya naming her son Aegon would be confusing as hell.
It still bothers me this deep into the show and in the books. The fact that Rhaenyras best friend growing up gets married to my father and has children with him right away. A year after her mother dies. It is so uncomfortable. I completely understand why the dynamic of their relationship changed but I guess I don’t get why Alicent kept her children so far from Rhaenyra. They don’t even call each other brother and sister. It’s that bitch queen or her son sits my throne. If Alicent was so worried about her children being killed because of succession she should have kept her enemy’s close. If they would have stayed close things would have been different.
That bit about ppl being surprised over his violence to Rhaenyra was absolutely justified bc nowhere in the books is he violent to his romantic/sexual partners (he's in stepstones when Rhea passes) that absolutely wasn't out of nowhere and ppl are tired of seeing female protagonists suffer violence just to get a point across about male characters
@@themysticwarriorgal9465 you're out of your damn mind linking fiction to real life, specially a show with DRAGONS. Just bc you wanna watch abuse on screen, doesn't mean everyone else does too. And this distinction of character traits exists all the time in George's book
@@areebariz1639 u r out of ur senses. Shows or movies in media are meant to reflect real life. It doesn't matter Whether there are robots or dragons daemon is a human and is gonna act like a human. Me judging him based on pattern of violent people is the most sensible thing. U clowns judging him on ur romance fictions are the ones that need help. Imagine thinking someone that killed his first wife wouldn't be violent to his current wife. No absolute sense
@@themysticwarriorgal9465It lacks book continuity. Besides Mushroom's pov, Fire and Blood is vehemently anti-black. The Maesters and the faith get their checks from Old Town which is the HighTower seat. They are gonna make their bosses, and themselves by extension, look good if they can. If there was a whisper of Daemon being abusive to his wives, it would have been all over that book. Daemon was in the Stepstones when Rhea died. She died days after falling off her horse. Speaking of horses, I don't have one in this race. I am #teamsmallfolk. All these people are terrible, but I want the shade of terrible they have from the source material.
Raenyra may not be so different from Daemon as she thinks. Her sending Baela is essentially saying if somebody has to lose another child on dragon back it’s gonna be Daemon. The reality is that more children are going to die. Hell, almost everyone is gonna die. That’s what happens when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. I need Raenyra to get her head in the game.
I think it's alot of truth in that daemon convo. Yes viserys didn't trust him but I do think he was sleeping adamant about rhayera as heir to put him in his place. I believe both of those things are true. And he was a great person but a weak king and if rhay follows him and earlier dany..she will lose. This is war. Either you gone play the game or you ain't
I don’t think that the dragon we see flying is Moondancer. The fact that he was looking at the water and it flew by makes me think that it’s Laenor’s left behind dragon Seasmoke. Especially since (book spoilers) I think Alyn ends up riding Seasmoke if I remember correctly since Laenor died in the books.
Sir Criston is getting dragged all over the internet. But in his defense it’s not like he could have told Rhaenyra or Alicent no. They both have him doing dumb stuff 😂.
