I feel like many people don't get the point Jace was trying to make. Jace has been harassed by the greens and their supporters through his whole childhood because of his parentage. Having his own dragon, Vermax, was a reminder of his identity, that he actually is a legitimate Targaryen. But if any bastard could claim a dragon, what does that make him? He also has been saying throughout this whole season how insecure he is about his legitimaty and how he wants to fight for it so he is seen worthy for the throne, so it's no surprise that he finally brought it up. What if those new riders just decide to switch up on them and want to have their own claim to the throne? What if Rhaenyra dies, Jace is her heir, will those men in her council and the rest of the realm that are loyal to Rhaenyra wanna fight for him? Those bastards have more Targaryen features than Jace and who is to say that the realm won't change their loyalty because of that. Let's not forget the fact that they now got dragons that are way larger than Jace's own, he would have no chance against them
I understood his point right away and on one hand I did feel bad for him. Clearly Rhaenyra and even Daemon don't play political games very well and their children are too good natured. But if his fears had come to light Jace would have had an advantage. He was raised a prince not a low born, is a direct gandson of King Viserys and was recognized by him as well. Not to mention he had the backing of the Sea snake. There are ways to off dragon riders without having to fight their dragons. Jace needs to man up and focus on the problems in front of him while making contingency plans for possible problems in the future. Another thing (and I know its a stretch) Jace knows he's a bastard, has known since was a child. Instead of pursuing to be his mothers heir, why not serve as a knight and let the title pass to her first legitimate son Aegon III. That would quell any argument, others made against Rhaenyra trying to seat a bastard.
@@lalaland12 right! Crazy how people either don’t pay attention or worse… just can’t comprehend 😅😢 I think these guys in particular spend too much time trying to guess what’s going to happen that they completely miss what is actually happening
I swear people are getting more and more mindless and require someone to hold their hands to even understand a plot. A plot which is not complicated to understand tbh, sure there are a lot of names and characters. But if one watches with interest, it's really not hard to understand!
I think they get it, but the language, especially using "mongrel" which has deep-rooted racial connotations throughout history, throws people off in that moment. But when you watch it back or think about it later, you get it. It's just hard to feel sympathetic for someone who uses such harsh language against those in the lower class. They seemed to at least understand it more after the episode.
The reason Jace doesn’t want the bastards to ride dragons is because him having a dragon is the symbol of his legitimacy. If any bastard can claim a dragon this challenges his legitimacy. Especially if the bastards have Vermithor or Silverwing, who could easily demolish Vermax, Jace’s dragon. So it’s not so much a matter of being spoilt, more a matter of losing his life and claim to the throne…
Exactly. Many lords of the realm never liked Rhaenyra as heir and have mocked her children behind her back this whole time. They might back her and Daemon's oldest over an outsider if she wins, but Jace? Imo it wouldn't take that much persuasion for them to choose someone like Hugh over him, if he were to challenge the succession. Sure, he's possibly lowborn on one side, but he looks Targ, has Vermithor and is the grandson of king Jehaerys! I think people are dismissing the concerns because they don't like his attitude, but they're very valid.
Y'all Jaces entire legitimacy rests on him having a dragon. Now his mother is giving away two of the most powerful dragons after Vhagar to people who have everything to gain and nothing to lose. What s to stop them from contesting his claim after Rhaenyra is gone? He's thinking ahead and is right (hello Blackfyre rebellions???)
Thats why Jace would have had to play the political game. As if Daemon would let those low born bastards sit the throne before any of his and Rhaenyra's boys.
@@WillDncnannnnd the immediate war would result in a catastrophic loss and both their deaths and of all their dragons anyway without these riders. What in your great wisdom would have been better? Let monsters like Aegon and Aemond rule? Greens are psycho.
@28:58 it's a "hot cocoon" for eggs to be inside warm. I think you can see an egg there when he crushes the cocoon but he didn't crush the egg. Dragon eggs are quite hard and robust, you stepping on it wouldn't be a problem.
Jace wasn't concerned about lowborns riding dragons because of some sense of elitism. He recognized that it was a threat to his legitimacy as heir. Being a bastard himself, if riding a dragon was the only thing securing his claim to the throne, then ANYONE who claimed a dragon could challenge him regardless of their class.
Jace is far from spoilt; he's one of the few honourable young folks. He was speaking honestly as a son to his mother and expressing his concerns. I wish she would be more forthcoming with him. As it stands, Hugh has more legitimacy to the throne over Jace after his mom is gone.
Both Hugh and Ulf arguably have more legitimacy, Hugh as the son of Saera is Jaehaerys' grandson and Viserys'/Daemon's cousin, Ulf as the son of Baelon is Jaehaerys' grandson and Viserys'/Daemon's half brother. Of course proving a bastards lineage would never normally work outside of their parent legitimising them, but if that bastard has a dragon proving they have Targ blood then it's just politics and the truth doesn't matter.
I'm not sure what more you want Rhaenyra to do in this regard. I'm sure Rhaenyra would prefer to not have to call on random bastards to help her win the war, but without them she has no chance. Will it lead to trouble down the line? Most likely, but that is a problem for another day. It's pointless to worry about the future if you and your entire family (and her loyal subjects) are likely to be killed in the present.
@@krayzy932It's her fault that she's in this situation though😂 her indecisiveness at the start of the war caused all of this.. The reality is that when Viserys died Rae has two options 1. Renounce her claim to the throne and flee to Essos 2. Fight a war of succession PEACE was never an option yet she wasted her time either way..
@@krayzy932 You are right that she doesn't have a choice at present. Alas Jace is only human, and the future can come very quickly at any time in Got. What she can do is sit with him and talk to him as a mom, and include him in the secret plans; he respects her and will understand. She can be better than Alicent was with her kids.
When Oscar Tully said, "do you want our army or not", he was basically saying to Daemon to let him shit on him so his banners would respect him for standing up to Daemon. Also, no he didn't break any of the eggs, just the casing. Eggs are incredibly strong which is why is season 1 Daemon threw the egg to Rhaenyra, it won't break.
@@DukeJimbob yeah. I actually have no idea why Rhaenyra didn't try to find a rider for silverwing first. She would've rejected riders without killing them. Much safer than putting a bunch of small folk in front Vermithor LOL. I mean, they could've even given Rhaena a shot at Silverwing.
I think I've seen people say that Silverwing is the calmest/friendlier of the dragons. She was probably like "oh are you okay, sorry this cave is such a mess, I wasn't expecting visitors. its ok we can make more eggs." meanwhile her husband is snacking on blackfyres.
oh, my sweet Silverwing!!! soon as she started that singing trill noise at Ulf, I knew she had decided that he was hers 🤣 in the books, she’s described as one of the friendliest dragons that regularly enjoys human company. she’s a bit ol’ sweetheart!!!
I came here to say exactly this. Last season we see Daemon have to break one open to pull out the eggs. It's kind of an incubation process that the dragons use for their eggs (which is why all the eggs outside of the mountain are kept in braziers of hot coals). In fact, Laena said in season 1 that about half the eggs the Targaryens collect never hatch, and I can't help but wonder if it is because they have been taken out of the "nourishment" of whatever that sticky membrane is along with the fact that the dragon's own breath can heat the incubation pod to a much hotter temp than the Keepers' hot coals do.
Surprised you guys didnt catch what corlys was thinking when Alyn said ‘ I am of salt and sea’ i think he will be named heir to driftmark. He offered it to Baela but she said she was of fire and blood and the lord of driftmark should be one of salt and sea… Corlys realised this in that moment, I think he will come clean to Rhaenyra and have his sons named Valaryian
Yeah, pretty much every reactor missed that part. They've been building it up to whole time for Alyn to become the heir from the scene between Corlys and his granddaughter saying Driftmark must pass to salt and sea. Corlys hearing that from Alyn just reaffirmed the decision he is thinking of making.
Yeah he didn't step on an egg, just the protective gunk they're encased in. I remember Daemon digging some out of it in season 1. Also fortunate for Ulf that he stumbled onto the golden retriever of dragons, lol. Silverwing was was always known for being more docile and easygoing. Also if he's right about his lineage, she was his grandmother's dragon. Pretty cool!
This is the second reaction I've watched where someone alluded to the dragons being trapped under Dragonstone. He said, "Seasmoke escaped". The dragons are free to come and go as they please. Dragonstone is where they roost (for lack of a better word).
Jaecerys might've been harsh with his words but he's not wrong. One of the biggest reasons people fear Targaryens is bc of dragons, where would that fear go if you let any Targaryen bastards claim dragons. Targaryens always had a god-like complex.
Just to make it clear, Hugh is Daemon's cousin. His father (Baelon) is the brother of Hugh's mother (Saera). Saera was a wild child which led to her father (Jaeherys) disownibg her. The dragon he claimed had previously been ridden by Jaeherys.
Hughs mom is Jahaerys' daughter, Saera. She became a prostitute, a highly paid one. Then eventually a madam. Her brother was Baelon, Viserys & Daemon's father. So hes their cousin
Jace isn't talking to his Queen there. He's talking to his mom about something they haven't talked about. He knows he's a bastard but he has a dragon, so that makes people see him as legitimate. If it gets out that other bastards can have a dragon too, AND they have silver hair, people will no longer see him as legitimate. This is a "mom, at school they're telling me I don't have a dad and now they're gonna say I'm poor" moment.
I think, when Oscar Tully asked Daemon if he wanted their army or not, he was basically saying that Daemon needed to let him do this (talk the way he did to Daemon) so the lords would follow his lead of keeping the original oath to Rhaenyra. The shot with Rhaenyra in front of Vermithor was awesome, as well as the last shot of all the dragons behind her. As always, great reactions. This series is sooooo good. Now, for the season finale!
Interesting point. She acted lovingly. I thought something similar at first and now, when digging into it, it could have something to do with him stepping into the cocoon and releasing smells reminding her of a newly hatched. lol
You might have missed it, but yes, it did affect Daemon having to kill that guy. Remember no one has shown him any sign of loyalty and fear except for the brackens. And now because of all his failures he had to kill the only guy who obeyed him. He failed as a leader and only brought death and suffering to the riverlands. It would be pretty dumb if Daemon spent the whole season being haunted and didn't see the error in his ways.
Jace has a point and he's right to be concerned. If Rhaenyra died he would have been challenged and probably killed because at the end of the day he's still seen as a bastard. With a pretty small dragon and there would be no one to protect him and secure his claim.
Nah, he's got the Targ name. That puts him miles above any of the other bastards who are not legitimized hence can't claim anything legally. It's Westeros so anyone can challenge anyone, especially if they have bigger dragons but their claim wouldn't stand on any foundation whatsoever.
@@earth2sakaIt really does not matter what name you have if you have a nuclear weapon on your side. Specially when your competition has the same name and are Targaryens as well. A crown can be forced on by strength alone and if he gains a following then it would be over for Jace.
In the books the red keep adopted a ton of cats to rid of the rats instead of hiring rat catchers. I imagined no one wanted to work as a rat catcher anymore.
And he played in the Spanish princess on Starz as the older version of Jasper Tudor they actually used a lot of game of thrones actors katyn Stark plays on that show as well
Right? He told Daemon the river lords weren't just going to do what Oscar says until/if he can prove his authority in their eyes, which is why he quietly asked him so only Daemon (and the tree) could hear it, "Would you have our army or not?" He's basically saying to Daemon to shut up and let him prove to the river lords that he might be young, BUT he won't be intimidated, and he isn't scared to speak truth to power. Daemon has a reputation for being deadly, for striking hard, striking fast, no mercy. People don't push him as far as they could (or should), they don't dare to call him out for his behavior. But Oscar has been sitting at home for the last few weeks stewing over the fact that Daemon _dared_ to tell him to smother his grandpa. No doubt he's pissed, and any shine Daemon had when they first met has been rubbed off. And SOMEONE -- either Riverrun's Maester or possibly even Alys in her time there -- has reminded Oscar that Daemon NEEDS his backing, so he can't afford to do anything rash. He wouldn't DARE to kill Oscar right now. And the second that Daemon seemed to forget that and got threatening, Oscar reminded him that he needs that army, and he isn't going to get it without Oscar commanding them to assemble, and Oscar can't command ANYTHING until he proves himself as the new Lord Paramount.
Exactly. Odd I heard this idea they agreed on this strategy on a pod with very knowledgeable GRRM fans and was thrown off. One there was no time, second nothing in that brief exchange before going outside signaled that
I like how its becoming very clear that Rhaenyra is becoming a religious fanatic by believing (with each thing that unravels, including that of seasmoke claiming Adam) are the Gods making things work in her favour to let her fulfill the prophecy. It's almost as though she believes that if the Gods didn't want her to be on the throne, her ploy to get the Army of Bastards to claim the 2 dragons would not work. But it did! It makes perfect sense how she's found religion and prophecy to rely on in grief of losing her father, 2 children, her aunt and daemon (as she believes). Doesn't matter what the future holds (with betrayal or death), she thinks she's right in the things she's doing because she believes her and her blood are the future.
Jace has known about his dad for a while. He asked if he was a bastard last season & this season he had a convo w/ Baela where she asked about Sir Harwin & Jace said he knew he loved them.
Hugh's mom is implied to be Saera Targaryen, a notoriously rebellious and “free-spirited” princess. She was the daughter of King Jaehaerys I, and the sister to Baelon Targaryen (Viserys's and Daemon's father) and Aemon Targaryen (Rhaenys’s father). Hugh is Rhaenys, Viserys, and Daemon's cousin, while Ulf is their bastard half-brother.
I believe Ulf took Silverwing flying over King's Landing as part of a plan to lure Aemond and Vhagar to Dragonstone where Vermithor and Syrax were waiting. Aemond figured out it was a trap as they closed in on Dragonstone and bailed
Jace isn't wrong at all in this point of view... the only reason people accept his, Luke's and Joffrey's legitimacy as pure-blood Targaryens, children of Rhaenyra and Laenor, is the fact that their dragon eggs hatched when they were born and their ties to the dragons gradually increased as they grew to the point where they became their riders. Allowing lowborn bastards or people with no connection to the Targaryen blood to claim a dragon basically tells the common people that the Targaryens' connection to dragons is nothing special, just like Cole was very wrong when he displayed Meleys' head around Kingsland, basically showing that dragons are not invincible gods. Both sides of the coin are understandable, both Jace and Rhaenyra, after all if these lowborn bastards and commoners can do this, what stops them from using this divine force (the dragons) to face the Targaryens and want to usurp the Iron Throne from them? both concerns are understandable: Rhaenyra wanting to end the war so she can rule in peace and Jace wanting to fight for his mother's legitimacy and his own claim to the Iron Throne but at the same time questioning whether when she is gone, people will accept him as King and not end up suffering what his mother is currently suffering with the usurpation of the greens.
Young Lord paramount ser Oscar Tully ate that damn scene up!!!! Btw I love his voice 😂😂 ****Jace has a legitimate fear. If his mom dies before him, others may challenge his ascension. He has a dragon and that makes him stronger. What if a bastard with a larger dragon challenges him? Rhaenyra and Laenor both had silver hair. He does not. Jace definitely has justified fears.
as some people already stated in the comments he didnt step on the actual egg but the membrane around the egg to keep them warm. Remember season one when Daemon went to the dragon pit he also got some eggs and he had to break through the same membrane. Also from the lore dragon eggs are very durable so it will take more than someone stepping on it to destroy it. Not to mention they are covered in scales.
The reason why I think Jace was a little upset at Rhaenyra for letting the other bastards to try and ride dragons is that it would in a way delegitimization his claim to the throne because he’s a bastard which everyone essentially knows already but the only way he does have a claim is because he has a dragon. So if the other bastards claim a dragon, then they might see that they could have a claim to the throne as well and could fight Jace for it down the road when Rhaenyra is gone.
Vermithor accepted Hugh cos (according to the series) he's a grandson of King Jaehaerys I, the last rider of Vermithor. Hugh is son of Saera Targaryen and cousin of Daemon and Viserys. Ulf, is son of Baelon, who's father of Viserys and Daemon, so Ulf is their half-brother. Ulf is grandson of Alyssane, King Jaehaerys I's wife, and the last rider of Silverwing. So, as descendents of Jaehaerys I and Alyssane, it's probably that both dragons sent it in their blood that lineage and accept them as riders.
Jace isnt spoiled at all. He is saying he is a bastard and the only thing that made him special was the dragon. But if bastards have dragons then he is not special at all. If a silver haired bastard challenges him than the people will nost likely rally behead the silver haired challenger. They are going to be at war again just like Rhaenyra is. Im disappointed that out of the 3 of you nobody was actually listening enough to understand what was really happening. Come on guys. You cant always go with the low hanging fruit aka "he disagrees because shes a women or he disagrees because he's spoiled".
That hasn't happened yet, bud. How would Jace know about it. Also, are you really forgetting that Blackfyre was a LEGITIMIZED bastard? As opposed to all these dragonseeds who do not carry the name Targaryen therefore could not make any legal claims whatsoever, even riding a dragon? Quite convenient to support your argument, isn't it? :)
Jace wants to give dragons to NOBLES who have supposed strict rules on honor. Ulf and Hugh don’t. They are out for themselves and the idea that any one can claim - which isn’t true because Hugh and Ulf are technically of royal blood - it’s the environment they were raised in. It’s not that difficult to ascertain why he’d be mad. I 100% bet they’ll betray Rhaenyra next season - hell, if not the next episode
Caraxes is my favorite sounding though. Almost like the sound you'd hear as a bomb whistles through the air. Teeters on the brink of unnatural and natural.
I was screaming when he told that story. I was like Saera, Look your son has claimed your father’s dragon!! We all knew that Saera was Old king Joe’s favorite child lol.
I re-watched The Batman recently & I'm proud of myself for recognising Archie Barnes (Oscar Tully) as the little boy whose father (Mayor Mitchell) was bludgeoned to death by Riddler. I remember there being talk of his character becoming Robin in the future. He definitely has the acting chops! He's great... & a Londoner too.😀
the kingsguard old man is Vincent Reagan, yes he was in the movie 300 and also Garp in One Piece Series Also: what Jace is saying is a fact... Adam, Hugh, Ulf... it is so good to see having them riding dragons.... and then when i read their stories... ... ... ...yeah...... .... which proves what Jace stated... And Criston Cole!! which made the ratings high!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Liking the thumbnail Dave! & love the way Quinn said "conportment" 😊 & perfect timing from Answer with the "GOAT" comment haha🐏😆 & Oscar Tully is NOT intimidated by Daemon & more intelligent than Daemon thinks & inspiring speech by Rhaenyra & Quinn was right! I was on edge of my seat with Hugh & Ulf during the whole dragon taming & ride scene! 😮 & sound design & visuals was stunning! & liked the names Answer gave at the end "Oak of Appleton, Sir Mason Quinn & Answer of Badd Medicine" hehe 😁💚
Jace is so right....bc now it opens the door for new riders to think they have a right to the throne, which could mean just another Civil War for his future. This is Westeros, we can love a character one minute and hate them the next, Characters have the potential to switch up for their gain. It's just desperation at this point for Rhaenyra and the Blacks and in the moment a needed win! Rhaenyra raises the Dragons and Daemon raises the ground Army. Perfect setup for the finale here.
Fun random fact you may like to know going forward about the Tullys: George RR Martin named that generation of Tullys after Muppets, just having fun and being comical: Grover, Elmo, Kermit, and Oscar Tully. He does stuff like that with others as well.
I think in a way Alyn gave Corlys the answer he wanted to hear, recall when Baela told him « I am fire and blood Driftmark must pass to someone who is of Salt and Sea » and now Alyn tells Corlys he is exactly that therefore giving him an option for an heir to Driftmark
Am I the only one that thinks that larys may have believed the whispers about a new dragon rider, but purposely didn’t tell aemond so he could be caught off guard?? It seems a lot of people think he didn’t trust the source and that’s why he didn’t say anything, but I think he held back on purpose to mess aemond up. Anyone else agree?
They meant “steal” in the context that you’re not allowed to go claim a dragon without permission. They didn’t know a dragon would run out and find someone like this.
He stepped in a clutch of eggs, usually 1-4 eggs in each little goo clump. That's just goo from the clutch I think, but he just missed the gold egg. I think Oak is right about Oscar getting Daemon to work with him, that's why he whispered mid conversation. Can't wait for the finale!
The Blacks Dragons, Rhaenyra-Syrax Jacaery-Vermax Beala-Moondancer Deamond-Caraxes Addam- Seasmoke Hugh-Vermithor Ulf- Silverwing Rheana-Sheepstealer which I'm assuming she will bond with. A good point about seasmoke I realized is that in an early episode we seen seasmoke flying restlessly above the Harbour pike it's yearning for purpose. Adam hall also was yearning for purpose, so it's almost rather fate that you come into possession of a dragon, rather then blood.

SilverWing was in Kings Landing because his rider lives there. Rhaenyra made a mistake in Not having her Potential riders pledge to her before they claimed a dragon. Plus they can't go back to Kings Landing 🐉💡👍
Alicent's personal guard is played by Vincent Regan. The most recent place I saw him was in the live-action One Piece on Netflix, as the Vice Admiral, but yes - he was also in "300".
Wow - excellent point about the "dragons choosing the rider" as a new paradigm. this could be put on the table because 1. Addam was sought out and chosen by seasmoke and 2. rhaenyra was just given this information, and admits in her speech what she thought she knew about dragons wasn't correct. meanwhile others are throwing about that Rhaenyra knew those volunteer riders would be massacred and just didn't care, which comes more from bias than what is being presented.
I think it’s important to note that the reason there was such a big misdirection with Seasmoke is because of his/her personality. Seasmoke is a younger dragon and more jovial (much like his/her former rider, Laenor) - the trolling of Ser Darklyn reflected this. Vermithor‘s nickname is the bronze fury and a big reason why he chose Hugh was because of his bravery and rage (hence why we see him screaming). Silverwing was lonely, much like Ulf (we have only seen him alone and without a family when he is not out drinking - very much unlike Hugh haha), so she chose him. There is no exact science to bonding with a dragon and becoming a rider; it is very dragon-dependent. Also, a random note, did anyone else catch Rhaenyra’s line about “ash in the wind” and how it was a bit of a callback/reference to how she was beginning to view things happening in the world in episode 2 (I think it was) of this season when both her Heleana are shown staring at dust/particles floating in the air? I appreciated that, especially since they lingered on those shots longer than usual.
Silverwing was lonely? Who said? And Ulf is surrounded by his friends most of the time, just because he doesn't have a wife and child doesn't mean he is lonely.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 context clues - the way she was tucked away in the corner; the way she seemed eager to interact and bond with Ulf; note, Silverwing is the only dragon of the ones with former riders that we haven’t seen yet; that says something. He seems to have no core group of people who love him or depend on him outside of his funny drunk tales of being a royal bastard. Do we even know what his job is? @@kathykay975 Lonely isn’t perhaps the most accurate descriptor (see above), but my point stands nonetheless! The personality of the riders are reflected in the dragon.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 Just because Ulf is surrounded by his friends dosn't mean he is not lonely. There is a saying: "You can feel lonely in a crowed of peopled". It always depends on connecting with others or with yourself.
SPOILER ‼️ As a book reader, I couldn’t cheer for Hugh and Ulf but I hope that the show will have a new trajectory for their arcs and make use of Adam better.
3 Dragons, 3 different personalities Seasmoke: Hey! Ma dude Leanor! Where have you been? Oh, not Leanor, but you look like him, let's be friends😁 Vermithor: SHOW ME SOME BALLS OR YOU AREN'T WORTHY🤬 Silverwing: Oh you cute little think, are you lost? You are mine now🥰
You misunderstand Jace. His concerns are absolutely correct. The *only* thing that elevates him and his brother above base accusations is dragons. The *only* thing that elevates the Targayryens above other nobles is dragons. And you are giving nuclear weapons to commoners with no loyalty to any noble house of, more importantly, to the institution as a whole. Giving dragons to other noble houses is incredibly risky. Giving them to baseborn is perilous. It not only terribly imperils Rhaenyra's succession, but can completely undermine the Iron Throne as an institution. And that can lead to a far worse war than the one Rhaenyra is trying to stop. OK. To set the record straight. Despite what Dumb&Dumber showed you in the previous show, full-grown dragons are *almost invincible* . Their hides surpass any metal and are essentially impervious to anything but another dragon. Pretty much the only vulnerable spots for a grown dragon are the eyes. So no amount of scorpion bolts will do f*ck all to Silverwing, Vermithor, etc. The *only* time in known history where a dragon was killed by a bolt in the eye was the *insanely* lucky shot that felled Meraxes, the dragon of Aegon the Conqueror's sister-wife Rhaenys.
In my opinion Ulf able to lay claim to Silverwing was pure luck. He stumbled into her cave stepping on her waste and nest goo smelling like one. A happy coincidence.
You can see Daemon close his eyes before he chopped off blackwoods head. He probably thought he was having one of those visions/dreams and wanted to make sure he was present in reality.
I don't trust Ulf the Sot with a dragon. I can't see him risking his neck for the Rhaenyra; I think he's more likely to duck out of any dragonfight and go show off his dragon to his drinking pals in King's Landing. He is eminently untrustworthy - my advice to the queen would be to feed him to Sheepstealer (The wild dragon in the Vale) p.s. he stepped into a nest, not an egg. We saw earlier in the season that the egg clutches were in nests protected with goo. p.p.s Ulf didn't ride to King's landing as part of any tactic, he was just taking his new ride to show off to his drinking pals in King's Landing.
@@wjohnson1110 true, he could turn really fast because of his frustration and anger but he has been shown in a way that makes me trust him a little bit more than Ulf, but yet again you are correct and it is good to keep in mind, in case they break our hearts with him🙈

Ulf stepped on the nest but not the egg, it is clearly seen if we pay attention that she (Silvereing) before giving him the first headbutt checks the nest, on the other hand she went to Kings Landing because she practically lived there in the time of the Old King since Queen Alisane was his previous rider

Alicent may be going through a character transformation, she may become more sympathetic next season. Juxtaposed with Rhaenyra watching the small folk burn from her balcony like a mad queen may signal a tonal shift for both characters.
