@@flaviaanamaria5826 no need to be rude, it means that we think similar things, Why you hate it that much? You don't care for the opinion, move and paying no mind.
Aegon is stupid, so Alicent and the others tell him not to do anything. While Alicent is very capable in comparison, her son and other men are wary of her and therefore restrain her. This comparisons, just like Aemond, is pathetic, not poetic.
@@ConnorNolani said this too. Remember when he told the story of his father he said he told him his power is in underestimating him. He will always be underestimated. Nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose.
Yes, he's a dangerous man to humiliate publicly; did you see the little smile on the advisor across the table when Aemond called Larys a toad? Ouch. Larys carries a lot of resentment and knows the fine art of manipulation, using it to attain ever-better positions of power.
nah, that was the old man's blood, sullying her white dress sleeve etc. as "authority's symbols are not jewels and gowns but swords and shields" - she has the wisdom to yell "no swords".. too late - a knight is mauled due to the same overbearing, suffocating treatment that Rhaenira gets too because "the queen needs protection", even when that means her protectors act without heeding her voice even when she's right there. Alisent's presumed lack of leadership capacity means her whitecloaks would never look to her for guidance, they simply act on training + instinct. We see that feeble position shift with Rhaenira when asked "should we call your council?" she just decides to act as the Leader she is and must be - flying off to face the news, leading.. where *only she may*😊
That's why I didn't like about that episode, they're really trying to villanize him. In the book he and aegon road together and they all three fought her. All 3 dragons fell to the ground. She didn't survive, Aegon and his dragon were injured due to the dragon fire but not from his brother - they did keep the injuries true to the book, Aemeon & Vhegar survived the fall. In the book he accepted the title as regent but he refused to wear the crown.
@@LyteBeauty Though as is often said, the books are written by biased people (says George). It's not the actual history, just what was written down. So Aemeon could be terrible in the book too, but he was written less so because the Maesters follow the 7 and are loyal to the Hightowers.
@@CottonCandySharks sometimes he writes chapters from the perspective of other characters, like Mushroom, and we know when that is. Other times he's telling the story, what was said about Amen were in his words (telling what happened).
It might be manipulation but, there is a part of me that thinks larys wants to help aegon just cause he pities him for having the same deformity he has ,but unlike him ,it was done by his own kin.
A birth defect like a club foot is always caused by a person's own kin. If Larys' condition is genetic, then that is entirely caused by his family. If it is due to something in utero, then his mother caused it, so again it was done by his own kin.
@@michaeldriggers7681 You know full well what they meant so there was no need to go the roundabout way of talking about genetics. You know they meant *intentionally*
Daemon's hallucinations aren't adding anything interesting to the show. Instead, they're dragging down the storyline and making it quite dull to watch. Both the scenes with Steffon Darklyn attempting to claim Seasmoke and Seasmoke ultimately bonding with Addam were impressive.
Last two episodes were horribly dull. Forget the lack of action, there was also a complete lack of political intrigue. Just bad bad writing, rambling and horrible dialogues
It's adding for me... Now i know, Deamon really did Celebrate Visyers sons death, he despise Viserys for naming Rhe as heir and He don't care about Rheanyra, he only care about himself.... If you're not a Cinema enthusiast it isn't really matter to you.
@@QuantumChrist In the book, Daemon backs Rhaenyra's claim from Harrenhal and helps her throughout. In the show, these changes through the hallucinations create a rift between Rhaenyra and Daemon, portraying them as odds rather than allies. This element in their relationship alters the narrative, depicting Rhaenyra as weaker and less competent in the eyes of her council, who originally viewed her as a deserving heir than Aegon despite her lawful right to the throne. These consecutive modifications significantly diverge from the original storyline.
@@Croissantare29 yes and they weaken Rhaenyra's character and completely undermine Daemon. They are giving Alys Rivers all the power and setting up a stupid character arch for Rhaenyra now that she has discovered her sexuality she will suddenly become a powerful leader and the world of diversity will cheer from the rafters!
Well Max would oblige but people keep canceling their subscriptions right after the season is over, and the delay btw S1 and S2 due to writers strike and Covid shutdowns made things worse. The money needs to roll in. MAX would be smart to come up with another likable series for fans to watch until HotD S3 comes along.
Regarding the distance Alys Rivers traveled compared to the Lannister host; An army the size of the Lannisters would take considerably longer than a small caravan and according to the map the Lannisters crossed through mountainous terrain.
Alys knew "the winds" would shift in three days, because Lord Tuly was going to die in 3 days, because she was going to poison him in 3 days, which she did. I think the Alys Rivers in Haranhal is a projection, and the Alys Rivers at Riverrun is the actual witch (who may or may not look completely different than her projection to Daemon at Haranhal)
@@jmz2144 she's a witch, "plying her trade", usually that means poison, but i'm just guessing, yes he was close to death anyway, but i figure that's how she knew the winds would change in three days
Can you even believe that this episode currently has a rating of just 6.3 on imdb. I mean wtf is wrong with people. When I finished watching it, I was so satisfied and thought this is maybe the 2nd or 3rd best of the season. All these people want is action and dragon scenes. Like bruh, its a political drama. If you bothered to watch GoT, you'd know
The quality of the acting is great, it is just sand bagging the progression of the overall plot in a 10 episode season. If the season was 12-14 episodes maybe it wouldn't be as worrying.
The man with the hand getting chopped off during the riot could either be a character backstory/introduction for The Shepperd that will lead a different riot.
Man Daemon just can not catch a break, spends all his time getting tortured in silent hill and failing to raise an army and now he's getting cucked, that's rough buddy.
Vaghar also !!! She decided to kill on impulse not because she was command to do it. Also Drogon didn’t listen to Dany on GOT he wanted to rest and not fly!
@@ICU1337 And the way Seasmoke looked Stefan in the eye, after bending his neck.... as if they were really going to bond.... and then smoked him anyways.... 😈
@@angiejean-louis8136 wrong. Vhagar is an old war dragon. Aemond was very into it! He wanted revenge for his eye! He chased Luke and was bloodthirsty in that moment. The psychic bond tells the dragon how to move not necessarily the words the rider is speaking. This is shown in season one in the stepstones battle where caraxes lifts his wing as deamond lifts his arm.
Also wrong. They hadn’t formed a bond yet. The dragon bond is extremely important! You have to claim a dragon to have any control. But saying it’s not control is crazy because watch season 1 step stones scene with caraxes and deamon mimicking movements.
@@JayCarlz-sj2xpit's probably because the city of King's Landing has run out of food and all that is left is just fish. The small folk being fed up of this lash out at her with fishes.
People are complaining about Daemon’s dreams and slow plot progress. I agree only halfway-his plot in this season reminds me a lot of Theon’s plot in season 3 of GOT. A lot of viewers thought Theon’s torture was fan service for violence, and in a way it was. But also it gives us a great way to understand the man he becomes in season 4 - a broken man. I think all these Daemon dreams scenes will pay off in future seasons, just watch! Once we’re able to binge these episodes, these scenes will go by so quickly and we’ll be thankful they’re there.
Olivia Cooke(alicent hightower) was a character on "Bates Motel" which was a spooky horror show. The scenes with Dameon really feel almost like she wrote them and she got the idea from bates motel. And Rhaneyra kissing scene was silly. Why would she kiss her lover(dameon) ex. They have no chemistry at all & you could just feel how forced & unneccsary it was.
they have to bring season 1 director back, this season is being kinda disappointing, they had practically destroyed all the character build up, emasculating Deamon and reducing Rhaenyra to nothing...Where is the Dragon Prince? where is the vengeful mother they gave us in the finale? such a shame...
How are they emasculating Daemon? By making him actually see that he can’t take on the world alone? That being a dragon rider is not enough to be a capable ruler? That if he wants people to consider him and his ability, he must consider that of others? Do y’all even watch the show? Or do you just watch with your eyes closed?
Do you even watch the show, or do you get all your information from RU-vid videos? That vengeful mother is slowly realizing she does not have the rescores to win this war. Rather then ride out like her dumb ass brother, she heeds the words of her shit council ands stays put. Deamon is finally facing his pain and morning. These are that types of moments that Dany never got, and people were pissed. Now they 're actually taking the time to show us the minds of these character and all you can do is complain.
@@Tmshi97He asked Alys Rivers for help. Do you not see the very obvious character arc happening? The hallucinations are changing Daemon to be more compassionate and considerate. It’s teaching him that he can’t take on the world alone and that his selfishness hasn’t brought him anything he wants. He selfishly wanted the Iron Throne and that selfishness caused a rift between him and Viscerys, pushing him AWAY from being named heir. How are y’all missing this???? It’s so obvious
@PerfectDark0 also it's shown to us that Aemond and Daemon are similar, but they aren't in many ways. Daemon loved his brother,Aemond doest love Aegon.
She's under excessive stress. That's her only way to release. Her husband has been absent for quite some time & the only males around her are off-limits & either scared or powermad. The time with Mesaria was a vulnerable time.

Yeh. I though that hug was lasting a little too long. I was like - "heyyyyyy ya'll hugging quite a bit there." then I saw Rhenera start to sniff old girl's neck. That's when I knew the visiting team was coming up to bat.
Ugh I know I was like “aww so sweet” then it just kept going as as soon as the head turned i went “oh no…noooooo why?!!!? Why can’t they just be friends and confidants!”
I just feel like bruh got to cocky when sea smoke bent his neck. He says under his breath “I’ve done it” and I think that made sea smoke be like ‘psych’
Funny how in all of those hallucinations that Daemon has been having, seeing dead people and people who can't exist, none is thinking that Alys is also a hallucination and not real: she's never had any contact with anyone else. In addition we all talk about dreams and hallucinations that Daemon has, forgetting all about the Targaryen MADNESS: Daemon is just the first manifestation of the madness that he will pass down his line through his 4 children.
@@TheFlyingPlectrum That doesn’t mean she’s real whenever we see her interacting with Daemon. Especially when it’s shown and proven that Daemon is seeing things that aren’t there and talks to people who aren’t there/they’re dead.
Simon names her in this very episode. He told Daemon that Alys Rivers was the one attending to Grover Tully when he died. We’ve also seen Simon acknowledging her after Daemon spoke to her an episode or two ago.
I thought that Alys was a hallucination also. But Simon mentions her by name as others have pointed out. She tells him to wait three days before he acts. And on the third day Grover Tully, who she was treating, ends up dying.
25:15 Laenor Velaryon rode Seasmoke not because he was the son of the Seasnake, but because he was the son of a Targaryen princess. Lord Corlys Velaryon is not the blood of the dragon, and so his bastards wouldn't be fit to be dragon riders. Their mothers weren't Targaryen. The onky possible explanation is that maybe over the hundreds of years that the Velaryons and Targaryen have been marrying each other, Corlys Velaryon may have some blood of the dragon. But if he is purely Velaryon, his bastards shouldn't be able to claim dragons. And it stills leaves a question. How did Addam claim seasmoke when its rider is still alive.
If Corlys had dragon blood then he would've been a rider himself but he is not. So he does not have dragon blood and neither Addam. As Viserys once said that the idea of them (Targaryens) controlling the dragons is an illusion. In the books there is a character Nettles who becomes rider of the wild dragon called Sheepstealer (seems like in the show rhaena is going to claim him). Nettles also did not have dragon blood. So yeah it is possible that a non-targaryen becomes dragon rider as dragons also see the personality and not only blood. Maybe Seasmoke sees Laenor in him as they are technically half brothers.
You're missing the real question the show is posing, do you NEED Targaryen blood to be a dragon rider? Go watch the preview too Episode 7, Jace says "House Targaryen is the blood of the dragon, If any may lay claim to it, what are we then?"
Leanor is related to Adam and looks the most like him and reminds seasmoke of him so obviously the restless seasmoke grew impatient and wanted the perfect rider which he found in Adam. You don’t need dragon blood
You turned this out fast - thanks for explaining this to people like me who require the closed captioning while the show is running! (I hate missing any easter eggs!)
Aren’t the DRAGON KEEPERS from Valeria? They were brought over before the doom with the Targs! Hmmmmmm, just wondering why they weren’t considered? Another great episode! I don’t mind the slower ones that move along and flesh out the story.
@@William-the-Guy clearly not…magic was used by the targs to make it easier for them however normal people who rare spirits can claim dragons, dragons make their own rules, the targs even with their attempts to make the their lineage pure, there has loads of them having kids with people of outside houses so it can’t be as pure as they think
why are we suddenly in for a snoozefest ? Yes there are some interesting bits in the last 2 episodes but not enough to elevate this season already as a memorable one, in stark contrast to S1. Lets just hope the last 2 episodes can yet alter the course. But careful Ryan! this slowburn might not pay off, and then what ? You leave your audience hanging for at least another 2 years - silly mind torture . Im a little bit pissed, and the Haarenhal-arc if it is then an arc is bad TV----- The acting though is on par with season 1 thanks to Rhaenira, Alicent, Aemond, Larys and a 500% more fluent Mysaria .....
@@Athlete1990I don't think you understand what 'filler' is. Corlys building rapport with his new heir, further developing the idea of dragonseeds, showing Aemond's increasing hubris, the smallfolk's growing discontent. These are all important things. If you haven't read the book, then rewatch this after the series ends and you'll realize how much important stuff there is in this episode.
@@thomaswillard6267 I know what filler is. You just have very mundane taste. My guess is that you love soap operas and daytime dramas because this show sucks
Not really, I dislike daemon weird mother eating out more. The rhaanyra stuff is just unnecessary what benefit could this new relationship be to the show. Well show is already getting boring so we'll see.
I dont think they're mad about the kiss itself. I think people just dislike that it seemed random. the reaction would be the same if she kissed sir Aryk out of the blue in a past episode.
I found this episode's visions as really satisfying, I felt like Daemon had a trip in all his traumas and now have reached a point were he really failed in life. Only Viserys could have done this and it's evident when he asks help to Alys.
I think that they are setting up the battle of the Gaunt, apart from another battle, I don't think that Cole would survive this Season, but Rhaenyra would receive another blow.
Am I an ahole for wishing it was Rhaena or Baela instead of Jace? It is likely Baela since Moondancer is also young. Or Rhaena on Sheepstealer escorting the young princes on their way to Pentos.
@@dianasayson2846 From what I have seen in the previews, Rhaenyra had giving his son to much encouragement, now he believes that he can confront the Lannister Fleet alone, even if Seasmoke and his mother come after during the battle, nothing would save Jace from the fatal blow, and there is also the battle of Bitter Bridge by the way to Harrenhal, where Cole dies, so the ending would be a lose for both sides, sea and forest would be burning, and neither side would win anything.
I like how the picture of Visenya reminded us that she produced Maegor, and inspired him to usurp the throne from his cousin. Its almost as though he desire for war passed to Daemon and Aemond through both her instruments (Dark Sister and Vhaegar)
Same. I don't see it pushing the plot forward in any appreciable way. It just tells me the writers don't know what to do with Rhaenyra, and are trying to buy themselves time, until they figure something out. Sort of ironic, given that her story in the last few episodes has been her insisting that she can stand without Daemon. I guess they're pairing her with Mysaria until Daemon comes back from his vision quest and decides what side of the thing he's going to come down on.
12:56 Queen Aemma was Daemon’s cousin too 16:51 As a show girl I feel like Otto’s in either Essos, at the Tully’s castle or has been in Harrenhall and that’s why Daemon can’t sleep 😂
@@JC-zj2is I hope they bring Nettles in, I always wanted to learn more about her. Like, was she a Dragon seed, or did she truly earn Sheep Stealer's trust purely with food and her charm? What happened to her after the dust settled on this whole Dance debacle? It would be a crime to leave her out of the show.
Seasmoke’s personality throughout the entire attempted bonding / chasing Addam scene was hilarious. Figured if you’re gonna make me ride someone, I’ll go find who I want. “The idea that we control the Dragons, is just an illusion” - Viserys.
17:09 i think as a mirror of Daemon, Aemond also has a complicated relationship with his brother; the pressing of the ball into his chest was a threat, but there was a strand of Aemond wanting to be there for Aegon- “welcome back to life, dickhead, hows my dracarys taste? Heres your council thingy, since youre awake” vibes. Like how daemon wanted to be there for viserys but he spurned him publicly instead; i dont think its a coincidence we saw daemon/viserys visions during the same episode aegon woke up and aemond confronted him. Daemon thinks he wanted the throne but he wanted Viserys’ love; Amond thinks he would make a better king on the surface but underneath that he’s vying for Aegon’s respect. The history book on the shelf is always repeating itself
I thought this episode was quite good, the character development scenes felt more impactful than the last episodes, and the questionable moments (Daemon door scene, and some of the Rhaenyra scenes) felt less out of place than similar scenes in other episodes. Particularly impactful in my opinion were the scene of Daemon showing true remorse toward his brother, and subsequently admitting he needs help, Alicent regretting the childhood that made Aemond into the monster he is, and Larys showing some humanity in explaining what he suffered growing up. In general these moments added a lot of depth to characters who felt like stereotypes before, making even villains more understandable, if not likeable. It's baffling how poor the reception was on a lot of platforms like IMDB, scoring worse than episodes like "the long night" of GOT season 8. It just goes to show that many of the unwashed masses just watch the show to see dragons and battles without understanding what drives character development.
Same breed of dragon at the very least. Some are saying that Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion are brothers of Seasmoke and are all sons of Dreamfyre. I don't know how true this is.
I like all of the takes here in the video and I would just like to add to a few. 1. I agree that dragons are kinda weird, but I think the part that is not being talked about with them, is they are fighting for power to be the baddest dragon in the 7 kingdoms just like the people are fighting for the crown. Aemon for example has gotten most of his power from the fact that he has the biggest baddest dragon and he knows this. Sea smoke probably is lonely and bored, but I think more importantly wants to go after the baddest dragon title and he would need a rider with the young, smarts, and ability to help him with that, hence why he burns the old guy and chooses the younger man. Also I didn't read the books and don't exactly know where Otto is, but I know wherever he is, he stay scheming and it was his plan in the beginning to get his grand kids onto the throne so he not just gonna ride off into the sunset without a fight, he pulls back up with a vengeance this episode
Not only do dragon riders must be prepared to die, but Dragon caretakers, trainers, singers. That guy had a knife on him and killed himself before slowly burning to death. That whole scene was just great in seeing how to attempt to claim a dragon.
The author literally one of the writer in show... If you think Rheanyra isn't gay, there's many evidence in the book, she is bi, Maybe that's why they cast Emma Darcy in the first place.
Content creators get early access to the episode. It maintains interest and a buzz for the series... I think they get it a full day earlier than everyone else.
I think you missed something - the dude who got his hand chopped off? I'm 99% sure that's "The Shepherd," the one who started the mob that slew the dragons. I was rewatching the Dance of the Dragons cartoon from GOT and they looked identical.
This was the first episode of the series i didnt like.... Dameons great character being wasted in these "Bates Motel" like horror flashbacks is a L Aegon wakes up and has no memory of anything or his brother trying to kill him? Really? Come on straight ripped from "The Last Kingdom" also a L Rhanerya lesbian kissing L Only 8 episodes this season HUGE L This season just seems lazy & forced idk... Like seasmoke refused the rider then flys away & out of everyone he could possibly go to find, he finds that black/velaryan dude, then claims him as a rider.... come on that's a little silly and far fetched..
Two back to back weak episodes.. Complete character assassination of all male characters.. Proper weak female characters as strong leaders... A lesbian kiss... Completely lacking political intrigue... This is the Star wars treatment that they are giving this series.
It was oneeee book and they are dragging this out for as many seasons as possible. Should have been 1-2 seasons max, the book is less pages than any game of thrones book butttt HBO wants the views and honestly it just feels slow and dragged out because there trying to make the most of what little content 1 book can provide
@@GiveonKing its less pages than 1 GOT book and those were 1 season each. Should have been 2 seasons 20 episodes. The book was action the whole time and dragon fights like crazy. We seen 1 for 10 secs almost done with 2 seasons. Damon stilllll at Harrenhall lol he did nothing all season
I have read in other RU-vid comments he can ride a dragon but chooses not to. However I find it strange in this time of need he wouldn't step up and become a dragon rider. I think this needing explained is why when corlys offered drift mark to baela she responded saying she's a dragon rider. They want us believing you can only have driftmark or a dragon... I don't see any reason why you couldn't rule driftmark AND have a dragon though... I think they focused on adding the big kiss scene in at the end instead of important matters like this one.
@@CMALL95 surely mate. They are messing up with the logics. In ep 7 promo Jace is right about riding the dragon, if anybody can claim a dragon then whats the use of being a targaryen blood? N this shitty phase of daemon in harranhal is again continuing🥲
You do know that not every Valyrian was a dragon lord family right? I mean just look at house Celtigar and Velaryon they were from those type families. It also started in the book that the Velaryon came to Westeros, they didn't come on dragons but on ships. Heck not to mention GRRM himself in an interview had said regular people of Valyria doesnt have a reason to practice incest and that means houses like Celtigar, Qoherys and Velaryon etc are all regular people of Valyria and they were minör houses of Valyria only surviving major house of Valyria that we know of is house Targaryen.
