Ser Gwayne is dismayed that the commander of this army has essentially given up on winning. And yet he cannot argue against what he is saying because he has seen the dragons and he knows it's true. You can see the defeat in both their eyes.
@@johnnymontanez9847why would he? The point is that the boots on the ground are all doomed no matter which side. He is a soldier and he has to fight for his house and obey his king and lord. Becoming a turncoat last minute doesn’t help him and it is not in keeping with his characters motivations.
@@johnnymontanez9847 Because the people he cares for are doomed. He spend the last 20 years in Kingslanding at court mostly with the greens. Don't you understand emotional connection and attachment?
Probably the best scene in the entire season. You can see how time abd his own guilt has worn down Cole, who was once a bright eyed knight. It really reminded me early GOT, absolutely fantastic.
Ser Criston has gone from cleaning his sword judiciously with lemon and salt, to sticking it in the dirt and wiping it with a moldy old rag. Kinda echoes what he was saying, men are insignificant when the dragons are brought to bear.
Probably the best scene and dialogue in the final episode, shame most HoD fans are too stupid to understand Coles background and motivations to begin with.
I don’t understand all the hate. I didn’t see the illogical writing or stupidity of the later seasons of GoT. The characters are being true to how they have been portrayed so far.
@@alexandrostheodorou8387 Character wise the show is solid. My main gripe with it is the pacing, the characterization changes and focus on certain characters as drivers of the actual story. For all that they're good characters Rhaenyra and Alicent are simply boring now and the focus should be on Aegon and Rhaenyra going forward.
An excellent scene, as have all the scenes involving Cole and Gwayne. The pacing of the show maybe slow, but the dialogue is on point almost all of the time, unlike the dwarf and dick jokes we were subjected to in GOT later seasons.
Could it be that we understand his motivations but still hate him nonetheless? That’s because he’s meant to be a complex hated character. We understand him, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t hate him. And his motivations doesn’t make him any less of a small bitter person, like alot of the characters in this show.
I love how everyone else is like "Ooooh Gwayne knows, he finally knows! How's Cole gonna get out of this one?" And that Gwayne was just saying the longest "Fuuuuuck" in his head Cole's words
I think the message here is two fold. Literal dragons dancing above and literal men dying below. But can also be how the targaryns are ruling class/ elite/ higher ups and its their affairs their issues with each other thry fight about which usually is of no consequence to the low born, small folk only in thst they are used as pawns in their political games [ gane of thrones]. Like Rhyanera like a cult leader sacrificing all those small folk targaryan bastards to dragon flames...using their desire, hope for better future, to gain noble status and wealth. I bet Cole feels silly, stupid, embarrassed now to have asked a high born elite Rhyanera to run away with him, a very stupid fantastical childish, ungrounded, dream- he would only be seen as a lower born, servant, pawn... dragon dust in the eyes of a dragon Queen or even a hightower.
He suggested that they run away because he thought it was his only way out with the prospect of death & torture now looming over his head for his vows getting broke. Its a stupid plan but hes paranoid about being exposed & not thinking straight, and thats why hes so angry rhaenyra simply wants him to be her whore. She's not in love with him, it's all just about sex for her. But he could be gelded, tortured and executed. Thats why he breaks down to alicent so quickly and almost unprovoked, and confesses and asks for a swift death. Lets not forget about her crying about her duty for 3 years to him before making him take something that you'd only give up to somebody you love in that time, especially as a crown princess 💯💯‼️
Ser Criston Cole’s character is really well done. This is one of my favorite scenes from the season. He did break his vow, but he’s not a liar that is for sure.
Basically he’s saying that he’s only Human that all the Kingsguard are only human so they shouldn’t be expected to follow the Oath they swore to for life. 1:23
Beesburrys death was a accident & Joffrey Was Being Caviler, Basically Rubbing The Dishonor In His Face & He Also Knew Cristons Secret so criston snapped. Obviously still wrong tho💯 Make up? He was gonna kill himself after Joffreys death but alicent stopped him..💯💯 He definitely feels shame. I seen a couple instances where you could clearly see it💯💯
@@johnnymontanez9847 The one he gives about honor being a mist and how dragons have made this war far more destructive than even he could have imagined.
Gwayne was observing Alicent and Cole very intensely before all of this and the tension was very obvious. Also, Gwayne just caught Cole sniffing and rubbing a handkerchief with the letter "A" on it. Gwayne also watched Alicent give Cole this handkerchief from a distance too lol let's just say Gwayne definitely isn't dumb haha
😂 its not what you say, its what you do make you who you are. He sleep with rheanyra and turn his back when she not Runaway with him, he killed beesburry , he fuck alyssand and killed Darklyn, blame sir Arryk for blood and cheese assassination, while in that time he was sleeping with alyssand. Now the table turned rhaeryra have much dragon and out of nowhere every green is acting like they all do for the good of the world 😂😂😂😂
If you fight a war with dragons, whoever survives probably has lost almost everything and everyone. No spoilers! But not many will survive this show. To die before you see all of this horror is probably better than to try and live with it for the rest of your life.
@@danika9411 True is that why he’s ok with Dying because he thinks that’s better than living with the Trauma if so then he doesn’t deserve that he should be Imprisoned at the Wall forced to live with the Trauma for the rest of his life.
