For those wondering, he’s basically saying if you put the fuse tap backwards into the fuse box, and the fuse for whatever fuse slot you’re plugged into blows, not only will power be cut off to whatever belongs to that fuse, but the device tapping into that fuse spot will also lose power, basically negating the purpose of the fuse tap. EDIT: Ok, let me word it a different way. Let’s say the fuse slot you’re tapping into was for the radio and you’re using the fuse tap to power a dash cam. If the fuse-tap was installed backwards, and the fuse for the radio blows, you will also lose power to the dash cam. You want the orientation of the fuse tap to be correct, so that the device (in this case, the dash cam) will continue to work, even if the fuse for the radio blows. You want the two fuses to be separately drawing power.
Hello, is it possible to relocate the wire for the fuse tap? If I cut and solder it somewhere else? My problem is, because of the direction of the fuse tap, I can't close the engine fuse box cover. I would use another fuse if I could, but this was the only one that's the least essential ACC fuse, everything else was for airbags and engine control. ALL the fuses in the driver side always have power which is why I connected to the engine fuse box.
