How AARGM from USS Dwight D. Eisenhower-based EA-18G Growler destroyed Mi-24?

An image appeared on May 15 with a mysterious “kill mark” of a Mi-24 Hind on a Growler deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The War Zone in an article stated that the US Navy confirmed that one of its EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft used an AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) to destroy the Mi-24 Hind attack helicopter.
However, AARGM is not meant for this kind of attack since it is primarily a weapon designed to neutralize air defense systems.

It's painfully slow to watch these videos to get the entire picture. Takes so long to explain anything. I literally have to watch this video X 2 speed in order to get through most of it.

What people dont realize is that the reason why Serbian forces were so successfully in downing NATO aircraft and ultimately an F-117 was the limitations of the SEAD aircraft and weapons The AGM-88C at that point was home on only. The target had to be actively transmitting as well fixed. The EA-6B and F-16CJ limitations was also painfully made clear during Allied force The newer AGM-88s are designed to be mini cruise missiles able to lock on targets regardless of they are active or not and even if they are moving as well data links for better control in case the missile loses its lock. The AGM-88s carries 150lbs warhead and the Mi-24 is not that fast nor agile. It being able to engage a target like this validates that US made the correct decision in so heavily upgrading the AGM-88s capabilities as well as its SEAD aircraft. Once Ukraine starts to operate the F-16s, I wouldnt be surprised of the US sent a few AGM-88E to them

Given that an active war zone is the best practical laboratory for testing, it should absolutely be considered. The war has already provided a significant testing ground, for other western weapons systems.

Houthis sent USS Eisenhower a missle. That failed, so we sent one of ours that worked properly. We can send more variety too. Just saying

American defense contractors should be reaching a synergistic point where missiles have capabilities that draw from the variety of existing weapons. I know this is fantasy, but costs and ease of manufacturing should be dropping.
