I've been practicing saying "perfect puppy"like Will does but my new York accent is not helping. I have had my first Rottie for almost a year now and I love the breed, they can be stubborn at times they are funny, loyal, protective and so sweet. Mine thinks she's a lap dog and she's already 90 pounds at 1 year 1 month. I don't recommend a Rottweiler to be a person's first dog. The experience I had from my previous dog (not a Rottie but a big dog) helped me with my Rottie now. Thanks for the video. All your videos are great.
Hi! I Love your show! There is so much good info here, and your dogs are obviously great! So I'm, not trying to start a flaming war here, but theres a couple of moments I would to comment on if you dont mind. 1. A rottie in an apartment - yes it is quite true they require a lot of exercise, but to my experience this does not mean they can not live in an apartment, even a small one. The amount of time they spend outside the apartment, and what they do in that time, is more important than the home size. 2. You say that a rottie cannot be left alone for long periods of time. I find this to not be so at all, I strongly disagree on this statement. They are completely OK with being alone for long periods, as long as they are trained for it. When I get a puppy, "alone training" starts on day one. And 4 weeks later, they are 100% ok with being alone while I go to work. There is no anxiety, no stress behaviour. Again, as with the apartments, its a lot about what happens when the dog is not alone. :) Looking forward to your next videoes!
Introduced properly and with taking the temperaments in consideration, they do fine. Most of my Rottie friends have multiples. I have had female-male and male-male.
I'm waiting for the right puppy from a really good breeder. There is a waiting list of 1 to 2 years, but I'll wait for the right one. It is my first dog for my own, but my family has always have had dogs. We have had some Caucasian orcharka since I was 10 but they were banned here in Denmark in 2013 otherwise that would be my first choice. But when it is my turn I will definitely be looking at the puppy course
Congrats on your future puppy!!! I waited not quite 18 months for my pup. My breeder picks the pup for you, and it took a bit longer for one she thought was for me. And he was!!!!!
