A true veteran rider from this interview. Knowledgeable especially on specialized bikes as he's the only one so far on your channel that started riding from the 1st generation tarmac onwards. Nice if he's able to come on in your future videos to share more of his extensive riding experiences especially the Taiwan wuling (武嶺) climb. 👍👍

Congratulations on interviewing a seasoned rider with great insight and handy pro tips. I particularly liked his common sense view on OSPW and slammed stems. There is a marked contrast from the plethora of 'COVID Riders' who have all the gear but no idea. Excellent videos; keep up the superb work.

I just want to point out that the Carbon-Ti chainrings are not exactly "stock" 😜. I entertained the thought of getting Carbon-Ti chainrings when I upgraded the groupset of my 2019 Venge to the 12-speed Dura-Ace groupset but from what I read, Carbon-Ti chainrings do not shift as well as the stock chainrings.

16:00 to add to that great advice, if you find that your seat post is stuck, sometimes it's because the clamping mechanism on carbon aero seat post is jammed. A good way to fix it is to unscrew the screw completely and put an Allen key in the hole, then hit it a couple of times with a hammer hard enough, but not too hard as you don't want to damage the mechanism. It works wonders and it's a life savior not too many people know about.

The air pressures he stated are correct. You aim for about 20% tire drop. So for my weight together with the bike. I should be running 56psi max in the rear and 52psi in front for tubeless 700C×25mm setups.
@changrenyong7616
@changrenyong7616 2 года назад
Agree. Tire pressure really depends on the total weight of the rider/bike/gear, the width of the tires, and finally the road surface condition. As an example, I weigh around 85 kg and after adding the weight of my Venge + two full bottles + bike kit + lights + saddle bag, with the 700x28c Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires, I run 67/68.5 PSI front/rear.

The most pro thing he has done to his Venge: Adding that electrical tape to cover the seatpost wedge bolt. My first wedge bolt was badly corroded, to the point where I bought a replacement from Specialized. First thing I did was to put a wad of grease on the bolt and then put an electrical tape - cut to shape - to cover the bolt.

How do you know this is a 2021? I thought they stopped making these frames in 2020. I ask because I also bought this frameset brand new last year but figured it was just older stock.
@OompaLoompaCycling
@OompaLoompaCycling 2 года назад
by the serial number and the year it was released. usually model years will be one year ahead of the year we are in (bikes released in 2020 will be given the 2021 model year number). could be old stock... some local dealers here are still selling leftover Venge framesets.

@@marcustan5868 at the price level of Zipp, ENVE is pretty good. Better quality, 5 years warranty and amazing life time no question asked crash replacement make the price more justified than Zipp. But I would still say ENVE value is not the best. Carbon is not rocket science, by buying some European/US brand, you are paying more than half of the price for the brand name and perhaps they are also researched/made in China. For example, princesworks wheels are made in the same factory as Cadex or Farsports in China.
