Grey here, grey there, massive moving pile of scrap metal and random parts here, another there, two smashing into another, essentially the bay movies. The first fight scene in bay's Transformers 1 film, I didn't even know what the hell was going on because it just looked like a massive rotating ball of scrap metal
@@mistylover7398 I would be a Decepticon, but I would be one for the reason they were founded upon back in TFP, where they were created to rebel against the corrupt government
That was my immediate thought as soon as they showed cybertron. It made me think of the opening cinematic in war for cybertron, which is exactly what I'd love to see expanded upon in the future.
While watching Bumblebee the first thing that came to mind while first seeing it was a mix between G1 and War/Cybertron as well as a few aspects from TFP
What Knightverse had, that Bayverse didn't: 1. Recognisable characters 2. Original Designs 3. Great sound design 4. Proportions make sense 5. Range in personality for characters 6. Transformers arn't torn to shreds by gunshots 7. Laser guns 8. Transformer character development 9. Transformers wearing their Faction's Insignia 10. Cliffjumper dying
When I saw the beginning of Bumblebee I was just in aww, fanboying it up in my seat, calling out characters I recognized from the G1 cartoon, and I love the Bay movies cause they look cool, Bumblebee was just... wowing for me
Gavin says: rebuilt and restructured and original models original vehicle modes and even the end of Cybertron done right then this is definitely going in the right direction for a better Generation of Transformers!!!!
When I sat down at the theater, and the room went dark, the logos went by, and the brief black screen stood before me, i did not know what to expect. Then the room filled with the orange glow of a battle ravaged cybertron with lazer bolts flying through the air, and my jaw dropped. Slowly that O shaped mouth curled up into a wide smile as the rest of the scene unfolded before me and it was the most genuine moment I’ve had in a movie theater in years. That was the moment i knew this movie was for the fans by the fans. I love this movie to death and this scene (plus the flashback) is everything i wanted to see in a transformers movie. I cannot wait for the future installments of this franchise and will support the creators no matter what, so long as they keep the same heart and soul in those movies as they did in here. And i pray that Travis Knight will come back for a few more movies, or at the very least, the final movie for what i hope and pray will be a successful, prosperous, and amazing movie franchise
I said something exactly like this on another Bumblebee video and I did the same thing. that scene really made the movie for me. I love thus movie so very much and the Cybetron scenes make me so hopeful for what the potential future movies could be.
Now looking back nearly a decade later, Transformers didn’t feel the same after Dark of the Moon. But I still watched simply because of the cool visual effects. I expected a slight improvement from Bumblebee and the movie lived up to that end.
WizManBallin No need to spend money yet - it’s on Hasbro’s RU-vid channel. 😉 It seemed a bit rushed at times to me since the episode lengths are only about 10 minutes each (which IMO is too short since they seem to be trying to add in a lot of lore - or at least more plot than RiD 2015, yes I’m biased), and we’re having to wait until this fall or so to get the second season, but so far I’d say Cyberverse is well worth a watch. At first, I was afraid we’d get another RiD 2015, but it proved me wrong. Oh, and if you’re one of the people who tends to dislike human characters, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. 😉 So, yeah, I’ll stop rambling and recommend you check it out. 😄
I was sick so I had to miss Bumblebee's premiere. So, about a week later, we finally went to cinema. There was me, my mom and like five other people, and I remember that there were these two guys sitting behind me and through out the whole Cybertron scene, the three of us were going INSANE. Like, I literally cannot begin to describe how those three minutes alone made me happy. And all of those small features, like Prime's mask moving, seeing Telatraan 1 in the background for a second and just.... EVERYTHING ABOUT SOUNDWAVE.
I was very reluctant and skeptical to see Bumblebee. I gave up on the franchise after the Devastator scrotum scene. This opening scene was everything the franchise should have been in the first place. Each character was recognizable. Loved it.
@@kryfa6279 True, they’ve now established individual decepticons are terrifying in their own right, and Megatron fought in the pits of Chaon, everything they are, he is infinitely more dangerous. Great way to build up suspense.
In Bumblebee, I can actually tell who is who in he fight scenes While in the Bay films, it looks like a bunch of red and black metal mating with each other.....
EXACTLY! The Bayformers design looks like they shredded an entire car, and built it into whatever mess of a transformer they make then attach wheels, side mirrors, and doors. And FINALLY they name it into one of our favorite Transformers and trigger us because they barely look like the OG characters.
This film made triple its budget, Age of Extinction set Hasbro/Paramount's expectations unrealistically high, and there's also a general problem with films right now where studios think that unless the film makes 500 million its a failure, that's kinda the MCU's fault
Honestly, this is a poor argument. If I made a film for $1 and it then goes on to make $10, that means I made nearly 10x more than my budget. Doesn't change the fact the film only made $10.
@Leo I think what he meant to say is that it was because of how much they saw Marvel Studios make, they may have completely ignored the main premise of what made those movies loved by many fans. They just make something that looks cool and expect to make as much I'm not saying it's Marvel's fault at all. Just people who see the MCU the wrong way and expect: "hey, marvel slapped some superheroes into a movie and they made billions, we can do the same!?"
I loved the first bay film when it came out in 2007. After that film I watched season 1-2 of generation 1 and soundwave became my favorite transformer. When revenge of the fallen came out I was excited to see soundwave, and was disappointed with his lack of screen time and dr claw voice. This scene was everything I ever wanted: “Decepticons attack” and “ravage eject”
As someone who grew up with the Bay films all I have to say is... I loved it and want more of this, the designs were actually really cool, great story, and the fights were choreographed amazingly. I actually am glad that this will take the place for the new version as the live action movies.
Exactly. I'm 16, and the Bayverse is what got me into Transformers. But it sure as hell isn't what kept me. Bumblebee is a huge step in the right direction. We just need to cement it before Lorenzo does anything stupid.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I went in to see this movie. I'd seen the trailers and honestly that sold me a bit, but as soon as I saw Cybertron and the CLASSIC designs, my eyes were glued to the screen, and as soon as I heard Soundwave's voice, I knew I was going to love everything about it. I'd watch a whole movie of just the conflict on Cybertron, man. I want to see that.
Me during the opening scene of Bumblebee: WHOOOOOOO! WHOOOOOOOO! WHOOOOOO! WHOOOOOO! YESSSSSSSS! YEEEEAAAAH! THIS IS THE BEST EVER! Is it over already?"
@@justanothergeek6379 I am so happy my dad grew up with G1, because he showed me Generation 1, a show that I have loved since I first saw it. I really hope more films can capture the feeling that Bumblebee gave us when it came to adventure, character, and story. Lorenzo, listen to ComedinCam!
I saw bumblebee in the theatres as soon as it came on and I saw it was G1 tears almost came to my eyes I love how they brought Optimus Prime back to looking exactly like he did before
I’ve been a fan since G1 started airing. I hated the Bay movies, but I liked Bumblebee for the most part. I really enjoyed seeing this intro sequence. It really got me into the movie. I was hopeful that we’d see some of these other transformers at some point in the film. I was really excited to see Cliffjumper! I was super excited to have him in the movie but I was devastated that he was killed off so soon. It was horrible to have him just show up to be executed like that. He deserved better.
I LOVED the throwback Cybertron scenes...THIS IS THE MOVIE I WANT!! They need to just do an origin story for the war on Cybertron. I want to know why the civil war started, I want to see a NO HUMANS Transformers movie, make it happen please!!
You want an alien jet that looks like Megatron? TF Prime. He’s a cybertronian Jet (which is actually worked into his character, Megatron doesn’t give a crap about Earth at all in Prime) but he’s got his huge fusion canon on his arm, the bucket helmet.
I agree, although it was the appearance of a freightliner fl86 cab over rolling alongside Camero-bee at the end that made me happiest. I'm up for another one of these movies if it's done by the same team. You could feel their love in all of the little touches.
There are three things that make the Cybertron scene so good: 1) The designs show enough G1 influence while remaining fresh and new. It isn't just CGI models of G1... there are enough changes and touches to make them different and exciting. This allows the best of both worlds: you get the recognizability of the characters but with a new coat of paint 2) Using every moment to count. look how utterly quick the Cybetron scene goes... and just how much is put in there to tell even the most casual fan who these characters are. The Autobots are are a team working together, are in a bad situation, doing all they can to survive. Optimus is a heroic leader who charges in, saves lives, and then asks where one of his warriors is. Bumblebee is cocky and funny but he can back it up with his skill. Soundwave is TERRIFYING. The moment he, Shockwave, and Starscream appear Optimus instantly calls for a fallback. And the Decepticons rule differently from the Autobots. Optimus' order to fall back is said through desperation... Soundwave COMMANDS the Decepticons to attack. Shockwave COMMANDS to destroy the tower. 3) And finally, as you said, the action is easy to follow.
One thing that occurs to me, now rewatching this scene, I had noticed the first time that Optimus appears to already be in an earth based form (exterior sunvisors), all the other characters still are in cybertronian forms. If Optimus has identified Earth and shows the projected globe, has he already been to the planet and assumed his truck form? If so, that would be an interesting story line to go into.
I like shooting as action, as well as melee combat. It's harder to do, as lots of people find it disinteresting. This film does it. And, y'know, G1. Oh, and Megatron should be either a tank or something a little more out-there like a hovercraft.
This scene is Almost Perfect to the Entire Transformers Media, 4 Years later and this scene is still Legendary, The closest representation we Got to G1 in a Transformers Movie until now
Comodin Cam this video was absolutely flawless sir. Thank you. I had a difficult time containing myself in the movie theater. I actually saw this movie in 3D!!! That opening scene was epic. It reminded me of the intro to Infinity War...just awesome. If this was a Hip Hop Album...it would remind me of the intro to Nas’ Illmatic I was like a kid all over again. Travis Knight was really onto something special.
I just love the opening sequence of Bumblebee. It set the stage perfectly for the movie! I expected it to be a slight improvement from past installments. And Bumblebee lived up to my anticipation. I didn’t care for explosions. I wanted real action and a reason for humans to be involved. It left me even more excited for the future with a Bumblebee sequel and animated Cybertron movie in the works at Paramount. The Autobots should team up with the Power Rangers in the future as well.
Said it before and I'll say it again! Bumblebee was the Transformers movie we should have gotten 11 years ago! Yet I didn't mind having the iconic designs and simplicity of HmG1 and some of the modern intricacy of the Bay designs.
Tamás Pákey I feel you on that one, but you gotta leave us something to look forward to in a possible sequel though. Like when Optimus was captured, he could be taken before Megatron as a way to introduce him for the next movie; at least it would’ve been a great after credits outro.
I could not AGREE more! I was so excited watching the opening scene on Cybertron. I was calling out the names of the characters on both sides, as they were introduced on the screen. It took me back to the 80's, and the wonderment I felt then. Of course, my wife and daughter were looking at me like I was crazy, but I just smiled and kept pointing out who was who. ;)
Same here! I love this movie so much and it has so much respect for G1 and it also has a lot of heart. This is the BEST live-action Transformers movie. I just hope that Travis Knight can return to the franchise and give us the fans more of what we want in this universe.
I think Bumblebee was great, favourite character from that was Dropkick, I don't partly mind the Bayverse movies, I can see why others don't like them, my views on the Bayverse. 2007 was OK, ROFT was my favourite, for a while, didn't really get behind DOTM, AOE, I wish there was more to it, TLK, I had high hopes and some moments I liked but the rest of the moments in that film were, pathetic. And one finally thing, Megatron turning into a gun, I've alway's thought of him turning into a Gun + Tank combo, where he can turn into a tank but the turret can be detached from the base of the tank and used as a gun.
7:30 I will say that Megtron turned into a POWERFUL gun, that was kinda the point. He took his bazuka-like blaster and confined it down to a pinpoint shot that in the hands of any sharp shooter would be a huge advantage over their normal weapon. The downside is he required a sharp shooter like StarScream to use him and it was suppose to be a "honour" that Starscream got to wield him. A honour that Starscream didn't appricate enough. The main problem was Megatron was at a disadvantage while in his robot form since he lacked the manuveuring skills and was a slower shooter, which while in gun form was not a problem (he fired faster). Least this is the theory.
First time i watched bumblebee i was absolutely blown away by what i was seeing, i really hope the director gets to do a couple more and with more cybertron, his vision of transformers was true to G1 which was by far the best for good reason.
I had the happy tears going at the opening scene. Was a bit disappointed that it was so short but it gives me hope I can burn the Bayforners. The happy tears going again at the end showing Bumblebee and Optimus driving together across the Golden Gate.
I was full on cheering thought out this whole scene, and calling out each character’s name as they came onscreen. I was beyond elated. Hearing Soundwave’s voice just put me over the edge. I want MORE!
The scene literally made me jump out of my seat and said to my friend now that's Transformers. It's one of the only films that have made me feel this much enjoyment and feel like a franchise had a future. It's one of the reasons why Bumblebee is my favorite film of all time next to Endgame
Easily the best part of the live action transformers movies so far have been the 5 mins on cybertron here. I wasn't blown away by the rest of the movie, thinking it was soso, but the cybertron part left me wanting more.
@@BasedVegeta no need to get triggered screamer i wasn't the one who's indestructible spark was eaten by a stupid talking blue pony with wings no wonder why Megatron beats you all the time
There is almost no doubt that majority of the fans would prefer a movie of that Cybertron style instead of being all realistic on Earth. As soon as I saw this scene I was reminded of War for Cybertron. Shockwave and Soundwave being my favorite Transformers of all time also made this scene mean so much to me, 1 min scene > Bay films
As a starscream fan I was a little sad when he didn't speak but still seeing him in his original G1 form alongside deceptions fighting just left my mouth open I hope that soon they make a live action movie just about them in cybertron.
RW:im surprised that Megatron didnt show up for that Cybertron Scene, you could just imagine if Frank Welker still had done Megatron s voice,it would have been more nostalgic.😁
For me, the one surprising addition to those appearing in the Cybertron sequence was Brawn. I never thought he'd ever be rescued from obscurity. Outside of some rare moments in G1, his death being the first in the movie and his briefly seen TF Animated appearance; he's never really gotten his time in the limelight.
@@rosecomet18 He's a tough cookie so a shot like that only floored him. The only reason he died in the G1 movie was cos all the Autobots were low on Energon.
What BB lacked in explosion it more than made up for in raw violence, IMO. And I loved it. I loved the simplicity of it and the commitment to G1. BB is best Transformer movie EVER!!!!
first of all thank you for this video. most importantly lets all thank TRAVIS KNIGHT for unplugging us from the MICHEAL BAYS MATRIX. This is what we have always dreamed of as real fans of the franchise, proper adaptation. i mean after seeing this movie i went home to watch the animated movie over again and said to myself i just saw these characters come to life. moving on, KNIGHT should consider re-drawing BUMBLEBEES face to look almost similar to the original. we have no freaking idea what the other team was doing, i mean the characters were completely unrecognizable from start. They mostly look like exploded junk put together, don't get me wrong i am no computer programmer or special effects engineer but i am BADASS at what i do. the mere fact we could hear them transform in the original sound was totally awesome, sound wave was totally on point with command. this fresh opportunity should be exploited to its fullest, then they will understand the true meaning of making money.
With the Bayformers movies (except Bumblebee), it would be super quiet so you have to turn up the sound really loud, then not a second later, loud explosions everywhere and you have nearly gone deaf. So many explosions ;-;
When I first saw the Bumblebee movie I was amazed at the beginning, and very satisfied at how the movie played out. Transformers was one of the most popular cartoons back in the 80s, and I used to watch it when I was a kid.
This gave me chills .finally transformers done right only 2 minutes but it was worth it They should do a movie of CYBERTRON WAR . IT WILL BREAK TICKETS SALES
