I was surprised it happened so late in the film and that for the first 90% of the film there was a mini-plot arc about them not being ready since they've been a couple since virtually the first movie. And I was hoping they might sing the Stoick/Valka song. But yes. Astrid's hair---amazing animation. Amazing film and perfect end to a perfect franchise!

Originally Astrid gave Hiccup a treasure map to unfound treasure, but that turned out to be a trap that she needed to solve if she ever wanted to see him again. I binged watched the series not too long ago, but I don't exactly remember how she helped save Hiccup and Toothless from this sand dragon... 🐉

I have to confess Hiccup has been my waifu since the first movie. He’s just so cute and he cares and has a passion for dragons in the same way I do with real life animals (specifically dogs). But at the same time I cheer for those adorkable #hiccstrid moments. It just always brings a smile to my face every time they’re so cute together.

I've actually seen some opinions where they say that Hiccstrid was forced. I think they fail to see the importance later down the road. This was before HTTYD 3 so I wonder if they still feel this way...
