Yeah, it's funny how it has become one of the few late DM-early to mid GX sets that isn't complete trash nowadays. Turns out Barrier Statues, Vanity monsters, and Instant Fusion have aged really well lol.

Reprints never affect ultis, ghosts, early game promos, prize cards etc

Personally, I get my cards off eBay because compared to TCGplayer they post more pictures of the actual card if you’re into collecting good quality cards. Too many times TCGplayer sells a card as NM and it comes LP. I don’t play with my cards either so I want them in as mint condition as possible. TCGplayer does usually have better prices, but I can’t gamble on quality of the card I can’t see and pictures of cards on TCGplayer is pretty rare and usually to show a foreign language card. If it’s a meta card, I think the deck representatives at tournaments play a big role in determining their prices. I don’t really buy those single meta cards. Wait until reprints, forbidden list or they fall off being meta for price to tank, then get the highest rarity version for a cheaper price than when it was a it’s highest meta price. If it’s a collectible card but expensive like Starlight Rares, get them ASAP because they are only going to get more expensive as time goes on. I’m guessing with these new Collector’s Rare in Toon Chaos, it’s going to be the same thing. There’s actually a lot of ultimate rare cards that are old that are a couple dollars, get those if you like the art work. Since they stopped printing Ghost Rares I got a few of those like Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend for $35 back in 2018, now it’s ~$140. Keep an eye out for new cards coming out, there might be old cards that will make them busted. For example, back when Dragun of Red Eyes is going to be released in OCG, I bought the holo version, 1st Ed. of Red-Eyes Fusion for $4. Now it’s announced to be released this fall mega tin for TCG and the holo Red-Eyes Fusion jumps to ~$20. Same with ultra rare Number S0: Utopic Zexal, I got for $1.99 and it jumps to $15-$20 overnight due to Numeron support coming soon.
