Same here, despite being female and still married… being cheated on after 26 years together just takes the hope out of life. Its been nearly 10 months since learning the truth and while I don’t really have any other options I don’t feel I can ever relax or rely on this man ever again.

I had been there. First stop dating, take care of yourself and be happy with being single. Find a hobby or activity that makes you feel alive. Don’t look back on how you were treated in past relationships or carry it on into future ones. When you do find the right person you wont have insecurities showing that push people away. It worked for me and I have been married for 8 years with my soul mate. 😊

Clear Answer - She lives in LA. The average home cost is literally $1,000,000 there. So the idea of getting married, having a dog, and a white picket fence is not even on most guys radar there because it is not obtainable unless you are famous and/or very well off. So their priority is trying to become successful and hustle and that’s it. It really truly is the worst place to look for a guy. If I had to guess, less than 1% of men there have it in their priorities to find a wife. Again, not even on their radar.

I had to stop looking and spent some time healing with past traumas. At 37, I am open to marriage however, I have had to make peace with the fact that it may not happen. I live in Miami and the superficial culture here is truly exhausting...honesty is not a trait a lot of people work on.

I gave up. Only things guys want is a hook up. I was married 35 years. Found out he was cheating with multiple people and blowing through our savings. I divorced him. At 54 I see nothing out there to date. Guys only want a hook up. I’m retired with my own $$, completely debt free so guys want to shack up or they want $$. Destined to be single forever now.

I feel her pain. I’m only 22 years old and most of my friends are married and having children. This is probably a byproduct of Christian culture. I feel so lost and alone, wondering when I’ll meet my person. I just feel so behind, even though I shouldn’t have to “catch up” to my peers.

Sarah- your sadness is perfectly normal for a woman, single and not reaching these milestones set by society. Don’t like his response to you.!! Yes, you have anxiety but it’s because of this pressure we women have to marry and pop out babies by a certain time! Take this time to get to know YOU! Not focus on finding a man!! Once you use this time for you- you’ll find you’re perfectly fine fn Alone! Enjoy your family friends etc. Travel, work on your mindsets! Take this stupid pressure off yourself. The more time passes you will meet YOU! Your standards for this husband you’re looking for will change. TRUST ME- you’ll look back at this time and cringe at the idea of settling for any of the dudes you dated! This single time is a gift girlfriend! Been there and the other side is way better than marriage and kids just for the sake of meeting a damn timeline. Only do those with the right person!!!!

To me, healing from anything, is learning (your version, mind you) to enjoy (truly) being alone. And not just not dating. Just, alone. I find it maddening how many people who were fine over all, went to therapy during COVID. Why? Like, aren't you okay w/ being alone w/ yourselves? Why do you need people THAT badly out and about? I don't get it.

Go to a different country do a peace corps and you will be in new environment and will meet new person. Men don’t make your life fulfilled you do. Love yourself and try something new outside of your current environment. God will speak to you it could come through your guides in dreams but it will happen just believe. What's sad is for most women they have put perfectly good men in the friend zone who would have married them and treated them great. My husband was sowing wild oats in his 20s and never kept a gf longer than four months. He told me he woke up one day and decided he was done being lonely and I was the next woman he dated lol. We’ve been married for six years but I can guarantee if we met the year prior it wouldn’t have gone anywhere. A man has to make up his mind to settle down.
