What is up guys, in todays epi I'm going to be giving you my thoughts on the whole Darnell Nurse interview that happened yesterday... and boy do I have a lot to say! I'm really curious as to where you guys come out on all of this. I feel like I'm in the minority with where I am in the whole situation, but drop a comment down below because I really do read every single one! Along with that, what a series it has been. I have absolutely loved every single second... its been sick! And also sorry it's been a minute, hope you guys can understand that's its just been a serious grind for me... and I really do apologize! Dude. I’m a huge oil fan but are you kidding? It’s unfair?? His goal differential with him on the ice is like -12 in the playoffs. That’s atrocious. He makes 9M a year. It’s not a one off. He deserves all the criticism he gets. It’s actually ridiculous you’re defending this. The fact you don’t think he deserves criticism like this is amazing actually. You don’t think we should be expecting more? Cmon dude. Get more based. He deserves it all. He’s in a hockey crazy market and he’s become a liability.

Nurse , if you watched all this season and his lackluster efforts when he feels like it , this ass ripping talking to by management was long overdue . second highest paid player giving less than consistent full team effort every game, it should have been long ago. to motivate him to not screw up so much and care so little .

He's very lucky that he has 97 and 29 as his best friends. I can't blame him for that contract because nobody would refuse that money. But he's not worth the money.

Saying what's wrong with the media, while also working for a media company saying the same things. - It's not typical to see a strong opinion against the same people paying you and treating you to media passes, a pay cheque, ect. Trev saying he can't be bought? While also taking tickets from someone and then giving them a chance on the show at some prizes. They say truth is stranger than fiction.

Oilers lose control over media access once it gets to the final 4. Its all controlled by Toronto in the 3rd round/final round.

I disagree. It appears that you're making a mountain out of a molehill. I'm not usually a Nurse defender, but he did a quick interview with the press and gave short (terse even) answers. So what? There was no middle finger (especially to "all of Edmonton). He was focused on last night's game and it showed well in his play. 12 hits plus an assist. He played well and I hope he continues to play with a burr in his saddle for the rest of the playoffs.

9.2 million dollar treatment. You have to produce for that money. "Oh he is having an off day" is not an excuse for 9 million dollars. If I had nothing but time, I would create a video of each time he was -1 on the ice, staring at the sky when a puck went in. It would be a long long video. You want fair? Pay him 2 million a year. Then he can have any excuse. Like you are giving him. Give Bouche Nurses money. Now, on the other hand, I HATE having the media interview the guys. Leave them alone. They have stuff to do.

He is supposed to be a top line defender. He makes more than Makar. His job is to make anyone who plays with him better. Not the other way around. If he needs a top end D-man the Oilers are expected to pay like 15M for 2 D-men on the same line?

Yo, my man. Respectively you have to change the background music too something else this is getting too repetitive and not too be picky but its way too loud and kind of hard to here you sometimes when we cant see you on screen. So I guess i'm saying too lower the volume because its not that bad of music. All in all great video and I was wondering if you are doing any press jobs for the Oilers in game 6 coming up? And the camera is almost always blurry, but I know thats hard to fix when you get into the rhythm of the video.

Hmmm interesting, just gave a listen and the levels are good to me. Was tonight in college to always be between -20 & -30 decibels for background music which this is. But can deffs change up the music for sure. Appreciate this bro!

Trev, chill out Dude. It sounds like, with your media pass (congrats), you might go beat up Spec. LOL. Don't do it! Or Do it! 😁 Remember when you treated the Ekholm trade like the end of the world? Crow doesn't taste so good, right? Nurse has a HUGE contract with a full NMC, so 1) He ain't going nowhere if he doesn't want to. 2) No other team will take that contract off the Oiler's hands so he's staying and so is McDavid. The only possible core player who may leave is Leon, and even then, I think that the odds of him staying are around 90% if we win it all and 70% if we don't. The Oiler's big problem is trying to figure out how to fit a new Bouchard contract in 2025-26!

I agree with you bro...i kinda feel bad for Nurse. It's not his fault they decided to pay him 9.5 mil a year. What's he supposed to do, settle for less money? Anybody in his position would've done the same thing he did. But that's what happens when you're a man who's that shade of color playing hockey in Canada and it's messed up.

Nurse is a good defenseman being paid like a star defenseman. That is my only worry about him. Oilers need a defensive defenseman to play with him so Nurse can play to his strengths. If Nurse was making 7 million all these issues no one would care. Sad truth is Nurse would be great to keep but the way things are working out Bouchard, Drasital and McDavid contracts will force Oilers to ask Nurse to wave his no trade. Nurse is a good defenseman who has some really bad luck with pucks bouncing off him into the net especially last games one off his butt. Definitely wasn't his fault. Really hope Oilers win the cup

Remember how Bouch was before Ech came here? Same outcome as Nurse, he was terrible. But with the right pairing Bouch has become a superstar, so that what Nurse needs a proper pairing.

you blame edmonton while showing tsn articles. we all know how the east treats edmonton. oilers fans dont like the contract, not the player. he has bad moments and has had alot of bad luck with a few bad plays this playoffs. but last game he was part of the 2 biggest goals of the game. and as far as negativity, alberta loves hockey, likes to talk hockey, and most dont really know shit about the game or team but just want to be apart of the talk. even the idiots get a voice in this world, gotta live with it.

Womp womp, he makes $9+m a year. 160x the average Canadian salary. God forbid his feelings are hurt. He can request a trade all he wants, not a single team would ever touch that contract. Hopefully this is a lesson for the league. Stop signing unproven players to laughable contracts.

i usually really like your takes, but saying that players play down south because they arent as heavily scrutinized is kind of weird, because the reason they arent as scrutinized to begin with is because those arent hockey markets. that's a privilege that hockey players only have because of the structure of the nhl with revenue sharing. those markets are propped up by the markets that these players are trying to escape. they're lucky they play for a sport thats structured this way, because in other sports (i.e. soccer in europe), the only way these players would be getting contracts like nurses would be to face the fire and play in markets that can support their contract. im just saying it's kind of entitled of them to think they are worthy of big money contracts, but want nothing to do with the criticism from the people that money is coming from

This is totally fair man. As soon as I watched Nurses interview, I was pretty triggered (as you could see) just hate the scrutiny he gets. But after hearing a few takes from people, a lot of them similar to yours I was like ahhhhh, I see that side too because they are making millions of dollars, the least they can do is answer a few questions. And as I was editing this video I questioned a lot of the things I said, but I was to lazy to re record a video 🤣🤣. Fair comment for sure though man

Skinner has been reliable. Gis goalkeeping was exceptional last game. A goalie should stop the first shot unless screened or deflected or cetera. Anything beyond that falls on the defense. Skinner has been doing his job. Have you ever played hockey? I played defense for years. Bouchard and Nurse are their top pair. I worry more when Kemp, Kulak or Stecher are on the ice. Bouchard is the best blue liner on the team in my opinion. The Panthers are extremely strong at defense so I am not certain how it will go if the Oilers win the next game.
