Wow! I follow Jimmy Carr closely with all his UK stuff, standup, panel shows, etc., and I've never heard anything like this - up close and personal with Jimmy! I always think he's a super organised guy, knows what he wants in his professional life, and just gets it. He hosts so many things in the UK, and when he's not hosting he's a guest on ALL the other panel shows. This was something else entirely, and I love it! Thanks for exposing that side of Jimmy for us Nikki!

I was thinking that. When he hotsts he doesn't get to do this much talking. When he's a panelist he has to defer to others more but he still has the limelight a lot. This felt more like his stand-up because he is owning the room. I want to see him and Katherine Ryan just go at each other some more. Basically any of the people on his panel shows (David Mitchell being my fave) can stand next to him so they would be great here. He's been doing this like 20 years.

I just came to answer the question. Every time I have a hard time sleeping, I pull up a Nikki Glaser comedy special, something about it just lulls me to sleep. I was trying to think what it could be, at first I thought it was her natural beauty, or her soothing personality, then though nah, that can't be it, then I realised, it was her comedy. Seriously though, I do fall asleep to comedy specials, more than one Jimmy Carr special has lulled me to sleep... But to be fair to Jimmy Car I also fell asleep to Pinocchio, I have been trying to figure out the connection, it might be the hair cut.

He is a headliner and they are not. Jimmy's shows include a lot of audience participation. He has honed dealing with hecklers to the point where it is a major part of his act. This has lead to him becoming very quick witted in the comeback, and burn/roast part of comedy.

Fun fact about that melatonin: there's a maximum limit where excess melatonin just gets dumped and you don't get anything out of it. So you can just take massive amounts of the stuff and you just pee it out. The max limit is like 6mg or something absurdly small like that.

That is all well and good in theory, but what I've personally noticed is that the more I take the crazier dreams I get. Up to the point where I get such horrible nightmares that I'm even afraid to fall asleep again. And that is usually from way less than 80mg (which I think was mentioned in this podcast). I wouldn't even dare try 80mg of melatonin, even though it might very well be above the ceiling you mentioned. Still, it seems to me that even well below that ceiling it just gets completely unmanageable.

I am cackling with Jimmy’s wit and the silence that follows. Nobody was on his level in the room except for the lady laughing in the back. This is why I tune into UK comedy. 😂 Edit: Commenters are calling Jimmy an asshole when this is just brit humor taking the piss. Can’t handle it then don’t invite them!
