Deadpool's healing factor is stronger then Wolverine's for two reasons. 1. When given the healing factor that was derived from Wolverine's DNA, it bonded with his cancer. And as everyone knows cancer cells grow like mad. 2. Wolverine's healing factor, and subsequently mutation progression, is limited by his adamantium. Due to the weight of the metal his body is constantly healing itself and since Adamantium is not porous the healing factor also has to constantly repair and heal red blood cells due to the fact that the adamantium seals his bones and red blood cells are produced by the bone marrow.
@richardconaway1687
@richardconaway1687 6 лет назад
interestingly enough after wolverine had his first metal coating taken out and before the x-men replaced it with beta adamantium(organometallic form of adamantium) he looked like spike and marrow who have bones jutting out of their bodies.

7Sage YET, how many sites and comics say, his regenerative abilities are needed to stop his adamantium poisoning. This was explained by adding that some isotopes (i hope it's written that way) are highly toxic and weaker. And while Bullseye & co. may not have them, Wolverine' s adamantium-laced skeleton is full of it, and thus is costantly poisoning him. It' s also why some times kitty pride felt bad after phasing through it: she got still poisoned, even if less. Here' s the link to the wiki page. You' re welcome en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolverine_(character)

@ConradLarsonGaming
@ConradLarsonGaming 8 лет назад

Human babies can regrow their fingertips up to the first knuckle for awhile after they are born. I'd expect that would be a great place to look in order to figure out if we could do human regen. Researchers are looking at it, of course, and what changes such that we lose that ability and why its isolated to only beyond the first knuckle and such.

Voidsworn I would guess that would be why we see Deadpool in a few instances trying to re-attach the part, other than for the comedic effect (which he is totally doing on purpose, hello 4th wall) of say, looking at his own ass, it would make sense that its easier on his healing factor to try to put the head or arm or whatever back in place and let the healing factor just have to knit the connecting tissues, muscles, tendons, nerves, and bone back together.

It's still a relatively unscientific stretch through; there's thousands of species of animal that can fly, but you'd be hard pushed to use them to explain how Superman does it.
@Kaleban
@Kaleban 8 лет назад
+Calvin James Its not a stretch to extrapolate. Axolotl can regen, fictional character can regen. Likely using the same methodology, as Hill pointed out. Your counter example fails because the analogy is flawed, Superman doesn't fly by flapping his arms real fast, nor does he rely on jumping off tall objects and gliding via air currents and updrafts. Conversely, those thousands of animal species don't fly by manipulating gravity via a specialized internal organ, or using some sort of telekinetic field. Similar end result does not mean the route used is the same.
@TheCalvinProblen
@TheCalvinProblen 8 лет назад
I understand all that, I was just being facetious. As great as the theories are, and as many examples of species with regenerative properties can be found around the world, that doesn't change my original statement; How does a fictional human character's, fictional power work? In real life? Assuming the subject is also human? It doesn't. Now, either you missed the fact that I was joking, or you chose to be as deliberately obtuse as my Superman reference, just to make yourself feel superior to someone you've never met, over a message board. Which is it?

I was wondering, could you tackle the part of the new star wars movie where they have to fly through the defensive shield of the new "death star" at light speed? Is it possible that they would have enough time to slow down? Can a human react fast enough to stop light speed? Maybe if they approach the planet at an angle instead of dead, with the extra fly space they do have enough time. I forsee a lot of speed and area calcultions.

but he doesn't have control of his cancer, while the movie made it seem like it was all internal cancer, in the comics it's skin cancer, and hence why he looks the way he does, because his healing factor made his cancer worse before it started combating it, hence every inch of his skin is covered in tumors, I'd hardly say that that was in check. Marvel also uses this to explain why his skin frequently looks different from comic to comic, saying it's because his skin is in a constant state of flux as his tumors grow and are combated by his super powered immune system.

That was a nice touch at the end XD (for those of you that don't know, deadpool said something like that after the movie was over)

If he cuts his hand wouldnt his hand also regenerate all the other body so there would be 2 deadpools? that way he could create a mega deadpool army

Hasn't Wolverine recovered from things just as bad as what deadpool can recover from? I seem to recall Wolverine coming back from some seriously messed up things (being ripped in half by the Hulk, run over by a steamroller, having the Adamantium ripped off his skeleton, thrown into lava, completely incinerated down to the skeleton by Nitro, etc)... I'm not so sure Deadpool's is better.
@rewrose2838
@rewrose2838 8 лет назад
Deadpool's is better simply because Wolverine's mutation was studied and used as a base for his regeneration ,but combined with cancer , the regeneration ability became better . . . except the fact that it didn't cure his cancer~

Hey, Kyle. Could you do an episode about superstrength? Like could strength overcome force? Basically, hypothetically if one could get strong enough could they manhandle a tank like super strong characters like superman, hulk, doomsday,etc?

There is also something funky going on in human body when autophagy starts to happen, ie. when you are fasting for prolonged periods of time. Autophagy stands for "eating one self", but while body is "eating" itself, it also goes on a muscle growth and damage healing "rampage". One's body smartly starts by breaking up all the nasty stuff to it's elements and using the good bits, and throws rest away, and utilizes fat metabolism (ketogenesis) for fuel and components to fuel the healing and muscle growth happening at the same time. There are even numerous reported AND studied cases where cancer has entered remission, or completely healed from cancer, there are even many fasting clinics, some of probably oldest are found in russia actually. There are fascinating documentaries about this and a lot of information out there, and many scientists are researching this, some go even as far as to say fasting is "fountain of youth" in essence.

It reminds me a little of the scientific inspirations of Arthur C. Clarke, the way fictional elements actually mirror a real world scientific theory. I'm not sure how much thought was put into the relationship between his healing factor and the cancer by the original writers, but how interesting that there may be some truth behind it.

I have a challenge for you, after watching this video and another video on deadpool which also goes to explain our current theory of how memory works, the question of "what is the difference between memory and thought" came to mind. I hypothosize a person cannot recall or create memories if they are unaware of themselves yet a person can be aware of themself without having any memory, example, a person that wakes up with complete amnesia will still be aware of themself and their surrounding, and a person in a coma who is unaware of themself will not remember anything while in a coma or have created any new memories. What do you think?
