The key operative word for China's STEM success, both short & long term, is "investment". The U.S. does not & will not see investment in STEM education on all socioeconomic levels as having potential to reemerge as a global tech leader. Hence, "where there is no vision, the people perish."

Honestly, the U.S. has never really truly invested in heavily in STEM and primary education. When we built the atomic bombs, we brought in physicists from across Europe to help. We didn’t have the capabilities to produce an Atomic bomb with our own homegrown talent. Once other countries can pay their talent enough to stay, US will be forced to teach up our own kids.

United States solution is to take talent from other countries, instead of educate Americans to fulfill skilled jobs & professions regardless of socioeconomic status!

Regular Education > IEP High School Diploma < > Regular HS Diploma < The public school system was never design or created for a good education system for society it was truly created for making cheap American worker for level one entry level jobs that all nothing else so NEVER get upset that people can't READ or WRITE plus can't SPELL in life got it that is the terrible outcome from a broken public system only in United States of America. > Knowledge and intelligence

The church is closing down alot of it Catholic School's right now so a great time to buy GOLD which is a good clean school and start creating your very own school system and totally stop the bad outcome of BM not knowing how to READ OR WRITE plus can't SPELL a great solution to the bad reality public problem.
