Does the Dynojet PV3 actually do anything for performance?? In this video I use my draggy GPS device to get real data on what the before and after of 60ft, 1/8 mile, 0-60mph, 1000ft, 1/4 mile, and top speed are on the Kawasaki KRX 1000 on 35s with the Dynojet tune. You may be surprised at the results!

Yes been waiting for this I just got the dirt legal thing done to my side by side drive it 30 miles to work tonight I will be getting smaller street tires ASAP had a headache by the time I got to work them 35s are loud on pavement but all this street riding is hit me thinking I would love to have more throttle response it cruised easy at 58-68 miles a hr for a 18 mile stretch belt temp did get to 3 bars which I’ve never seen it get above 1 on the trails but I guess 60 mph for 18 with 35s would cause it to run higher but motor temp never hit above 170

That’s awesome you got yours street legal! Mine is finally street legal in WV and I’m making a video to show how I did it here soon. Idk if I’d get much smaller tires if you want to cut down on noise. The smaller tires will create more RPM and engine noise but you will have lower belt temp and better throttle response especially with a tune. Thanks for watching!

I’ve heard good things about the trail saws offroad how do you like them other than the noise? I haven’t done any exhaust yet but it’s on the list

@@rebelsoffroad they great on the trails not as good on rocks as rock zillias but since I did the dirt legal thing I haven’t had much time and haven’t been on the trails since thanksgiving only black top and they are loud on the road I’ve put 100 miles on the asphalt with them I’m buying new wheels and highway tires next week so I can keep my trail tires good for my windrock trips

I’m surprised you hear tire noise at all. I have 35” zillas and the engine and exhaust noise are so loud I don’t hear anything else including my music above 30mph. It gives me a headache and so I only ride the street if it snows or I’m running to the gas station 1/8 mile away to fill up before a ride

@rebelsoffroad

Im learning that if you are looking for big gains from any clutch weight or tune you’ll be pretty disappointed. Only so much a NA engine can do

The gauges and other features the pv3 have are what makes it worth it to me

Here are some other reasons a tune might still be a good idea: Adjust rev limit Adjust speed governor Raises limp mode to 7000rpm Adjust drive by wire Adjust cooling fans engagement temperature Eliminate Reverse limiter Throttle response and reverse limiter were key for me.

@@RockCrawlinthose things were all set by OEM for a reason. Any deviation from stock will reduce reliability and longevity. In my opinion bolt on mods like intake, exhaust and clutch are the only things you should use with a mild tune. If you want to tune further then getting into the engine with power supporting mods is the answer for reliability and durability.

@@93Tillinfini Agree and disagree. Manufacturers make their machines to perform for the middle of the bell curve. Their OEM specs are for the people who don't change their oil per recommendations, have old fuel in their tanks, don't inspect belts, don't blow out clutches, drive in low when they should be in high, drive in high when they should be in low, shift the diff at the wrong time, use the wrong diff setting for the terrain, have poor throttle control, etc. They have restrictive settings to protect the machine from ignorant or abusive users. Some of the settings in the tune are required by the government. Requiring emissions controls that get hotter than the engine wants isn't a good thing for the engine. Are you saying that having the coolant fan kick on eariler will reduce liability or durability? Are you saying that defeating the reverse gear governor that can help you get out of a dangerous situation will reduce reliability? Are you saying that if the OEM fuel mapping is more lean than it should be that making a needed adjustment to that to help longevity or reliability isn't a good thing? OEM is 31 inch tires. Yet half the threads on the KRX forums are asking if 35 inch tires will fit without rubbing. "In my opinion" doing engine mods is fantastic for greater output, but...at the cost of what? More power wears on other components like ball joints, A Arm tabs, transmission gears, diffs, hubs, etc. Are you saying that doing mods to the engine without beefing up everything else doens't impact durability or longeviity? My point is, yes, OEM specs are set for a reason. But many of those reasons are to prevent people from damaging their machines from ignorance or neglect. If you're not dumb and have the ability and know-how to maintain, protect, and enjoy modifications, why not do it?
