Thanks this was very helpful. I discovered this when I was a pescatarian and now that I've started back eating meat again my face has broke out badly .
I had candida and after I went on a candida diet and started eating normal my skin got worse. I now realise I still have candida and a gluten sensitivity. I buy every expensive product and honestly food is my main problem. Building up yhe courage to go on another 3 months candida cleanse.
Cystic acne has hundreds of causes, but almost all are internal. Always talk to a naturopath/doctor first to figure out what the internal cause of the cystic acne is. This is paramount to the health of your skin and body. Care externally mostly deals with keeping the skin hydrated and healthy so it heals fast and prevents scarring. One of the few things I've found that works externally is Neem Oil or Thyme oil. Both can penetrate deep into the skin and have antibacterial/antifungal properties that destroy the bacteria within the cyst. Helps to eliminate the painful bump/swelling very quickly (we're talking overnight). Make sure NOT to use the pure oil directly on the skin (especially thyme oil). Find a blend where the carrier oil is LOW on the comedogenic scale (sweet almond oil/grapeseed oil are great carrier oils). Dot it on like a spot treatment after finishing your routine.
Before ever seeing professionals for my skin concerns, I had already got to the conclusion dairy foods and peanuts were enemies to my skin. I completely agree with the whole thing... Thank you for another great video, Nerida!
This is so eye-opening! I've had dermatologists tell me that there’s no correlation between food and acne. My acne is hormonal (t zone breakouts) and is triggered by certain foods.
Yes, they have said this for many years-even some companies that estheticians choose to work with will give this information...other brands will training you their philosophy saying the opposite. It can be confusing for so many people. The thing to take away is that food does not DIRECTLY affect acne, but more indirectly it does-it triggers different parts of your body-organs, systems, etc, which in turn affects the skin.
Oh my Lord! No offense to the dermatologist but I would run. I am currently studying dermal therapy and that is one subject I am learning, the correlation between food and hormones and genetics.
I constantly get random white head breakouts on my forehead, nose and lower half of my face that leave hyperpigmentation behind. I don’t have dairy, peanuts or lots of sugar. I’ve never had skin issues as a teen either so I’m confused as to why I’m always breaking out in my early 20’s with an oily t-zone.
Hi Nerida Joy. I just love your content. Thank you for sharing. Do you have on line courses with certificates? Also, female facial hair do you think it's more then hormones? Can it too be food sensity?
I am 27 and have acne om my lower cheeks and some keratosis pilaris. But is it just white suger that is bad or do you mean all types of suger? Including fruits and berries?
Hi Nerida. Im breaking out in hormonal acne on my chin. I’ve never had this. I’m 35 years old and had my third child 18 months ago. Any suggestions? Thank you and love your videos!
It best to watch my videos.... Juliette, Daniella or Crystal. All three of these ladies have hormonal acne, and i describe helpful hints in their videos I did;))
what do you think of murad skin supplement. i have cystic acmne but after like a month of using it i had no texture at all. do you think it’s the lysine, vitamin a or zinc or combination of all of them? bc i been taking them individually at the same time but haven’t achieved the same result as murad. i read the high dosage of vitamin a is bad for the liver? do you agree that’s the only thing that works for my skin. i stopped dairy and that helped but i still have hormonal acne and i don’t want birth control.
Be careful how you massage the lower abdominal region. Counter clockwise movements can actually back your system up. But if you do it right, it’s great for your overall system.
Not a fan of suction devices.... but done correctly can be useful in conjunction with other treatments....micro-current works but needs to be constant:))
This is so true! I get the same cystic nodule every month, in the same place - that doesn't go away for about two weeks. It is caused by either my period or if i eat anything with yellow cheese :( . I cut out dairy, but the cravings before my period are too real haha.
Nice video, what about small blackheads buried under the skin on the chin? They seem like they have multiple layers of skin over top no matter how much exfoliation.
Hi, I have a friend suffering badly from candida she has done the diet for more than a year but she is still suffering. She is seeing a Dr but what I was wondering is she is quiet warm when you touch her skin which as I have been watching your videos could mean inflamation in the body. Can the heat from the body also be causing the stomach flora to be out of balance which could be a contributing factor to her candida also? She is also orignially from Ghana so she has a very dark skin tone, mid 40s and living in Singapore, not sure if this makes a difference accept of course the humidity we have here ;)
Super, wonderful short reviews about the main problems of a skin. And I certainly agree, that all problems are related and begins with our food and the way we are living, daily face regime and so on. This review reinforces the claim that food has a profound effect on the body and, ofcourse, the SKIN. Love it ❤️ I will spread this message to my clients more confident! I have been working as cosmetologist for 10 years! And I see how are changing the skins or my clients, when we start everything with the food! Greetings from Lithuania 🇱🇹
The peanut corporation contacting you lol, that’s capitalism for you:) Recently discovered your channel, wow I just enjoy you so much, I could listen for hours. Goodness - I have often wondered about the little bumps I get on the backs of my arms and jaw line!!! I didn’t expect this to arise on this video, 'KP' good to know, perhaps they are these. I don’t ingest much sucrose though, I wonder if fructose can also cause them? I’m a vegetarian and high consumer of water, I do attribute the clarity of my skin a lot to my diet, a positive, but I do have these little bumps.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Predominantly banana's but I drink fruit juices that I'm aware are quite sweet (cranberry, orange, pink grapefruit or passion-fruit are usually my juice of choice).
So when you talk about not eating dairy anymore, you don't mean only skipping 'lactose' and you can keep eating lactose-free dairy products? Because you also mentioned something about skipping soy milk. What about coconut milk or oat milk?
The other milks tend to be better.... No, not just lactose. If you have a certain bump under the skin... (mid cheek) dairy usually, egg yokes etc does not work for you.
@@NeridaJoySkincare Thank you so much for responding! This is what I have the most problems with (those little bumps) and indeed I do use a lot of all those different kinds of milk. Time to make some changes! :)
Peanuts are not a true “tree” nut...they are actually a legume. Which puts in a different food family...that may be the difference. I do have kp on my arms, but no bumps on my face. I don’t typically have breakouts, as I have a monthly facial...and have not required any extractions in a year. I’m 62 and I do have a history of milia around my eyes. I cleanse with the k cleanser, the R+F Retinal serum and a night time peptide renewal moisturizer. Any thoughts?
Nerida Joy I try to keep sugar to an extreme minimum. No added sugars. I had weight loss surgery 5 years ago...that being said most of my protein is Whey protein so a lot of dairy. No citrus, no fruit juices. I don’t drink cow milk, or soy...mostly almond milk. But I do Greek no sugar added yogurt, feta cheese. I have been eating more fresh watermelon as of late.
Depends on the skin issue you're dealing with. If your skin is dry/dehydrated, then yes, taking an internal oil supplement can help keep it hydrated from within. My personal favorite for INTERNAL use only is flax seed. Toss a tablespoon of the ground stuff on a salad or something each day. Helps balance estrogen levels and is great for the colon as well. In terms of acne in general, it's hard to say without actually working on the skin. Knowing the type of acne/skin type is vital in finding clues to what could be causing the issue. Watch Nerida's videos on general skin tips, and if you're following things properly, don't be afraid to talk to a naturopath/doctor to pinpoint the issue.
@@kaitlin6643 flax seed sounds good. I have dry/dehydrated skin as well as those bumps Nerida explained. So taking omega supplements and/or eating almonds could be problematic????. I
K Barron I don't recommend omegas for acetic skins. Often when people start taking fish oils their skin starts to break out....NO for acne skins generally :))
Hi Nerida! I really love your videos, you’re like the only person I trust with how I treat my skin and what products I use haha. I just had a quick question about skin care going into the winter months. As someone who has a fairly simple but quite effective skin care routine I wanted to know whether I should be thinking about adding or taking away any products during the winter time? Because cold weather (I’m from the U.K.) usually tends to make my skin a lot more surface dry. Also, I have very thin skin around my eye area and would love to know what kind of product a 23 yr should be using to help my eye area and prevent wrinkles :) Thank you so much for the videos! You rly are great ❤️
Non foaming cleanser, less exfoliation, layer serums and up the moisturizer to be a little heavier to protect the outer layer:)) Eye product AM and PM:))
Nerida, I really appreciate this video😘. I have been dealing with bumps on my mid cheek area starting from my sideburns. I thought it was congestion so kept exfoliating but never fully goes away. I dont do much dairy but I eat red meat on daily basis and lately I've been eating water melon like no other. Man, I really gotta clean up my diet. Thanks again. Oh, also could almonds be problematic like the peanut? Mean while, should I still try to exfoliate it away or treat it like allergic reaction?
omg you gave me a lot of insight ! My eyes became more wrinkly and I had no idea why and recently I got diagnosed with lactose intolerence. Now that you said I have a better idea so thank you
Are there any foods that you do not recommend for women with PCOS? I dont suffer with acne but I do get congested easily and have a lot of blackheads :(
Gluten/dairy. Hands down. More research has been coming out linking PCOS with insulin resistance (read: high correlation with diabetes). Carbs in general spike your insulin levels. Dairy can mess with hormonal levels, which is obviously not good with PCOS where there are already issues. Talk to a naturopath/doctor about food options.
Life is always beautiful when you have good health, for almost 4 years I was diagnosed with HPV, and I was lonely and sad, luckily for me I was addressed to a kind and great herbal doctor who helped me to restore my health back to me, he sent me the herbs that cured my HPV, completely and the test results proves I'm now negative of the virus , all thanks to you Dr.Ani John for the cure remedy for restoring my health, I will always be grateful to you for your kind gestures...

I feel u, I got tested and I'm sensitive to gluten, also cow protein . Try switching some foods and see results and get your doctor to listen to you, don't let them tell u don't have anything
Very insightful. I enjoy my facials with my esthetician. I travel a lot, but I do see one wherever I am for a basic facial or am add on if I need one. However, I am going to have to make a visit to Beverly Hills to see Nerida Joy. Your videos have been great to watch.
I think people should drink organic peppermint tea or any organic teas and hydrating is very important When I wake up the first thing I have is water with lemon with ginger or plain water sometimes I have it hot I used to get itchy from peanuts or any nuts but that irritation has gone away I’m thankful because i like eating them ☺️
