I think she is probably following her rule. She might be required to do a certain amount of spiritual reading a day at certain times, and the rule might also require sisters to do apostolic work in pairs.

He was speaking very effusively about things that the sisters have had to sacrifice. They are still so young and my heart went out to them watching this.

I think this might be my favorite clip on this whole channel. I loved when Matt said "I think that shame is probably rooted in lies that I believed about myself at an early age." I've recently spent the better part of a year wrestling with that idea in my own life. Growing up autistic, I was taught to believe that I'm broken and inherently wrong just because I didn't fit in or because I acted strangely. But as an adult I can see that none of that was true. I'm not any more broken than the next man and that brokenness isn't because of my autism but rather the evil and corruption that's been sewn into all of our hearts by the enemy. Aside from that, aside from my propensity towards selfishness and greed, my emotional shortsightedness, and my intellectual clumsiness, I am as the Gods made me. And the Gods made me as an autistic man. Part of the journey of surrendering to the divine and attaining blessed henosis us seeing through the lies of the enemy and realizing that we're all glorious emanations of The Ineffable One.

I got so much out of this. Thank you for sharing. I love thinking that God is the Perfect in my life.. even if I am not. I am one with not very many talents and learning disabilities, emotional issues... etc. Even now, though I am grown and married.. I always feel like I am failing somehow. What's your secret to such a positive outlook?

I've been back to the catholic church after been away for a long time. I'm having a hard time getting myself to confession. I'm a coward that is full of shame of my sins. I often get angry at myself for being so weak. Would anyone please pray for me so that my desire for God in the eucharist becomes so immense that it outweighs my shame and fear of going to confession?

Yes! Definitely praying for you! I also recommend watching a video called "Confession is a Place of Victory" from the RU-vid channel Ascension Presents, and it actually has a priest explaining that confession is never a place of shame and that it's always a place of victory! Hope this helps, God Bless!

Mario, prayers for you! Confession can be difficult at times, and don't feel ashamed about being ashamed! I remember a Catholic speaker saying at one point, however, "Don't flatter yourself; you're not that original." As An Drea said, preists have heard it all before. There is a great story (of which I cannot remember all the details) but St. Faustina once was being tested by a priest (it may have been a bishop) to see if she really could speak to Jesus. St. Faustina was ordered by this clergyman to ask Jesus a spesific question: what was the mortal sin this clergyman had committed in his life? A day later, St. Faustina came back with the answer from the Lord: "I have already forgotten it." We have nothing to fear--God is so merciful. All we must do is be open to recieving his mercy!

Jesus' mercy and love completely drowns our sin in confession, so thankful. Also, the fact that He loves us anyway (even fully knowing how much we are going to fall) is so beautiful. Depend on these things :)

It's a heroic act to go to confession, moreso if the sin is really bad. As soon as it's over, you're absolved of your sins. Plus, priests have heard it all before, believe me.

I often put a lot of pressure on myself to be hyper-productive and to accomplish all these things, and while accomplishments are good I have realized that I am not doing them for others, I am not even doing them for God; I am rather doing them for myself. It is so good to have loved ones in my life though, who God lets me see in such a way I can do nothing but give of myself to them. People really bring us out of ourselves and make us know the Father so much better. I thank God when I remember he made wonderfully lovely people

Could you explain a bit more about what you mean by doing accomplishments for yourself? Is it about doing stuff to feel proud of oneself, or to gain some benefit that one can enjoy in the future, or...?

Please pray for me. I’m deciding on if Catholic faith is best for me and most importantly true. If anyone can answer this question for me it would be great also. Do you have to confess your sins to a priest? since in Timothy it says there’s one mediator between man and God

I will pray dear that the Holy Spirit guide you to one true faith and church. The Sacrament of Confession is truly God’s gift to us to keep us in line with and in His majesty’s will for us. It’s not that we can’t ask God’s forgiveness directly at any time, it’s for us to know we are forgiven so we can start anew with our Lord every time we fail. As a Muslim then Protestant, felt never free of my sins no matter how often confessed. As a blessed Catholic God in His infinite love and mercy has graciously provided and freely given all the sacraments in order to get us to heaven. Many blessings to you!

Hey there, a few simple things to know regarding confession. Confession is only required for mortal sins. Make sure you know the difference between venial and mortal sins (this is straight out of scripture where it says some sins are mortal and cut off the life you have in you and some are not). Confession for mortal sins is "normatively" required, not "absolutely" required, as in the cases of a someone who simply can't physically make it to confession or access a priest before dying. If you don't have mortal sin on your heart, then you don't have to go to confession at all. The liturgy of the Mass, the process we go through each Sunday leading up to the Eucharist, helps us to recall our venial sins, seek forgiveness, and be reminded we are forgiven. In Mass, it's called the Penitential Act if you want to study more. The Church only asks that you attend confession at least once per year, regardless of mortal or venial sins, as the practice of public confession to a bishop (priests are just mini bishops) goes back to the time of Christ and is found abundantly in sacred scripture and the writings of the Church Fathers. Lastly, I hope you end up WANTING to go to Confession. As the commenter stated above, as Catholics we are privileged to experience in a real physical and tangible way the miracle of receiving's God's forgiveness. Does it happen by your bedside when, with all of your heart you ask God for forgiveness and repent of your sins? Yes. But how amazing it is to audibly here our Lord speak back to us, by the power of the Holy Spirit, thru the bishop/priest whom he anointed and gave authority to so (John 20:23). Remember, the priest is not Christ, but is acting "En Persona Cristi" or in the person of Christ, when sitting in a confessional. I hope this helps and welcome home friend to the Church Christ himself established for us to continue to experience Him physically and spiritually through the many Sacraments we experience and live out as Christians.

"Unconditional Love", says the young lady; meaning: "without terms or conditions applied". And if you believe Freewill is God's greatest gift to humanity, then we all already know God's Will, do we not? Yet, how do Unconditional Love and Freewill apply to each other, and what is the relation between the two? Free: not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one desires without imposing upon another; not or no longer confined or imprisoned. Will: (philosophy); an action. Dom: denoting a state or condition. Body/Mind/Emotion: when a Spirit of Freewill (God; Human) imposes its Will upon the Freewill of another it ceases being Freewill (Divine; Humane; Heaven or Peace on Earth). Belief is an E~motion. Do a persons words and actions agree? For through these things can be found one’s measure of reliability and sincerity towards anything, including Self; including God; including Love. Unconditional: without condition; Freewill: without imposition. So, might it be said that Unconditional Love is the Spirit of Freewill? Believe what you will ~ for it is easy to love those who love you. I like you, very much, Matt, and I sincerely love you, too God Bless ~ Much Love ~ Stay Safe
