"I wanted my mouse to be four cardinal directions perfectly, so I bound the dpad on a controller to my mouse inputs." - PC Gamers after 2005 frantically looking for even more ways to ignore the existence of arrow keys
@@pendingchange3776 You can but it requires some kind of arcane mix of multiple third party things that make your computer think a keyboard is a joystick and then binding the "joystick" input to keyboard keys. (I've done that second part to play pre-controller-support minecraft with my PS3 controller with joy2key)
Not a lot of first person games let you bind camera control to keys on PC. One could theoretically pull something like that off if you had a Corsair keyboard since ique let's you rebind stuff. but generally its not supported in modern games. Using the steam controller settings was the most eloquent way to pull this off.
@@Blazberry_Yaint How many first person games do you know on PC that let you bind a controller d-pad to the camera controls but no keys? The whole process here is that the game is unaware of what you're actually using.
i find it really funny that the chat is like "just go a bit to the left" and stuff like that but he cant see chat im super impressed you manadged to route the batteries
@@guidedexplosiveprojectileg9943 Rhythm Heaven games force you to have to listen to the music and audio cues and playing by looking at the visuals messes you up
Idk why people are saying the gong invalidates or discredits this. It's not like the title is clickbait, the gong barely even qualifies as a clue. He still needs to figure out what he did wrong after hearing the gong, and come to his own conclusions. If anything the gong is for the Twitch audience, so they don't lose their minds. This is still extremely impressive.
If he hadn't already been determined to re-check battery spots, it would be the exact same as if someone behind him went "AHEM" and, I dunno if you noticed, but blindfolded runs don't tend to allow someone with sight to guide you. (I mean, that is a separate type of blindfold run, but you get my point.) Since he was gonna continue searching anyway though, he probably would've found one and it would go the same way in the end... probably... maybe.
@@Falkuzrules I definitely get what your saying, but it’s not like anyone else is doing blindfolded runs. Also the gong wasn’t specifically for batteries 🤷♀️
This is the ultimate example of the audience having all of the context of a situation vs the protagonist having no idea about certain things and making choices based on what they know
@@antanaskaleda1564 right until Monty comes out of the monitor to slap him in the face for accidentally stepping on a very specific tile at a very specific frame without looking at the screen. Perfectly plausible after the sprintless run.
She gonna be second guessing just how "capable" he is to help her on her mission in chapter 2. Like instead of saying "Nah, you can't leave" she'll just be like "You grabbed a pillow instead of my case, get the hell out"
@@alannotemo2835 right but that's for his newer content, these other things he's done I think are way more interesting but got a lot less attention, either way he's still deserves more attention

I really like how with the D-pad camera movement, the video looks like one of those Triple-A E3 demo vids, where they really want to show off their lovely environments, so just pan around slowly lol
God damn are you underrated, with your debunking and covering glitches and out of bounds areas in games, as well as doing your own speedruns and things like this, you deserve a lot more!
imagine being so scared of huggy wuggy you beat the game blindfolded yes, i meant kermit. you see, at the time of watching this, i was deathly scared of the colour uhhh blue which is everywhere in the poppy playtime (tm) game. i decided to what this video blindfolded instead, to prevent seeing the colour blue. therefore, i did not see the part where kermit replaced huggy.
A bit of an idea as double security so people cannot say that you might have a second monitor you're looking at through a blindfold, a smaller over-the-shoulder camera behind you to show exactly where you're looking at all times. So we can see the monitor behind you in one cam, and more or less what you're facing in another, even if it's just a wall.
it's very easy to tell when someone's faking being blindfolded, especially if they're doing it for long periods of time. it'd almost surely he more difficult for him to fake it for hours on end and never accidentally reveal himself than actually doing it blindfolded.
@@steveyouraveragehamster9383 the bilindfolfolded poppy speedrun category really doesn't exist. I just don't know why he worked this hard to get a "gonged" run
So pointcrow explained his method of memorizing his actions when he blindfold ran breath of the wild. Is your way similar or do you have a differ method to this madness? Just wondering.
I think in this video Spiff explained that he counts the stepping sounds or the seconds he has to hold a button down for. He probably remembers the numbers for each part of each stage. Looks like he also uses walls that he knows are there to align himself properly. And ofc the whole run requires as little input as possible, to be the easiest to remember.
I know it was probably a joke or troll, but the people in the chat insulting him just was kinda really sad to see and bothered me more than it should, i really hope they were jokes
i really wish i could've seen your reaction to actually watching how all of this played out. just how close you were sometimes, and then how far off you were others.
What chat is that bad to stop you from using it? If a chat is that bad i think theres a bigger problem on either the creator and the community they created
@@mfbloc9549 where though cause i have never had real problems with my chat and in the chats that im in. If its an actual good channel then those bad things wont be there. Putting all of twitch culture to a couple people isnt fair because i dont want people looking bad at my chat nor my friends chat because of some bad apples
@@JessTheKitsu Its not his fault if people take advantage of the fact hes blindfolded and play noises to screw him up, id say its just people in general, of the viewers theres going to be a few who just want to troll
@@Azaelris but whats the problem with that when he allows it. If you have ever been in his chat its not a problem. Its a stream to streamer thing. If the streamer doesnt want it to happen they would disable it.
I cannot overstate how much funnier this would have been if you didn't know it was Kermit, and other visual changes like those had been made for you to see once the run was done.
It's quite awesome you manage to pull it off because i barely can draw a circle normally to the point I might been not even be a circle if I'm blindfolded
That's what happens when you stream on twitch. There's alot of salty and toxic people there. They just saw someone streaming poppy playtime and didn't realize he was blind folded so started calling him bad lmao.
Haha, its all banter at the end of the day and we all knew he was blindfolded. It’s painful to watch someone come so close to succesion and almost fail so we all went mental. None of what we said we meant and spiff knows, thats why hes laughing with us. The banter is one of the best parts of the stream.
Don’t worry! I was one of the people in chat, we were all mostly close friends with Spiff and that’s just how we banter with each other, no one actually meant any of the teasing and many of us have asked many times if this type of behavior was okay with Spiff and he gave us approval since he thought it was funny
I love how he got stuck on the batteries so long, and yes i know he didn't really have any way of telling if they were in a certain spot unless he picked them up
