I am impressed with your skills as a dj and the way you market yourself and it seems you have taken on a lot of aspects of what works from the competition.
Okay I’m sorry but like jeez man, the quality of your videos are soooo good now, especially compared to a few years ago. Like I wish I could do stuff like this.
Great video! Using a CRM with a good system changed the game for me and my company. Leads used to drive me crazy! Appreciate your honest about the reality of dealing with leads and being ghosted too!
Hey Rick! How Are u? I like your videos a lot, often i've get inspiration from them, in this one you've discovered me the calendly site, and is very useful for my purposes Thanks again and Good Job!
To be fair most of those are pretty cheesy and garbage, but also youight not care or that might be the look you are going for. It's a fine line when ordering cheap lights for sure between super cheesy and low end and passable. You are going to be using an auto or sound reactive mode on most of these lights so already you lose a bunch of control and up the cheese factor so you have two things working against you already. It really depends on your budget I suppose. T-bars and such with visible PAR lights are cringy. The best thing you can do if you are looking at keeping it simple would be to use soft wash lights where the actual light unit isn't visible but can shine on a backdrop or curtain on something. If money isnt a huge deal and instead it's just you don't want to mess with DMX addressing and all that then you can get some amazing led strip lights out of China that have some decent pre programmed modes built I them. Note: there is a lot of gatekeeping in the lighting production realm. Most companies and individuals do not want to teach you because they provide services for events and such and see more people knowing these things as a threat to their business... Basic DMX addressing of moving heads and such is fine, but how to say setup of a video wall with individually addressable LEDs (which by the way is SUPER cheap if you contact the China factories directly) yeah not so much. They do t want to teach you. Coincidentally enough the most beneficial videos are from churches, but even then they are either not doing (because the don't know how) or refusing to teach some of the coolest things you can easily do.
The conversion rate on those leads for us is around 10% - 15%. So most people get mad that they dont get a lot of bookings. But if you understand the numbers and have a good lead funnel to make handling leads quickly... its worth having it rather than not. Our cost per booked lead is about $200 to $250 right now. So if that works with your profit per event than yes its worth it. For us it is makes sense and works
I have a question. I've watched so many of your videos and you seem to like the type of music that you have to play at weddings and proms and stuff. I don't think I could ever do that, but how do you keep excited and motivated about these events when they request music that you don't like? Maybe it just isn't a issue like I said for you, but it is for so many DJs that play electronic music. Thanks Rick!
Hi Rick, can you expand on why Honeybook over DJEP please. I’ve noticed most “major players” use DJEP but I also follow much of your advice and would like to know why Honeybook is your choice
I find honeybook gives a cleaner modern look for clients. It doesn't have the automation capabilities that djep has.... yet. Its also a new start up only been around since 2018. So I think in time it will evolve to be much more capabilities
@@DJRickWeb Thabks for the input! Do you mind sharing what automation actions are missing? Ive been a gig builder user for a long time and was about to jump to DJEP but am now leaning towards Honeybook based on your videos (which I regard highly).
Sticker shock. A lot of couples need educated on what a dj does to understand the price tag. And if your the first one to jump on a call and do that you win there trust
QSC K12.2. Look on major sites like Guitar Center or Sweetwater and see the number of reviews between the K12.2 vs SRX815P. QSC is less expensive, lighter in weight, longer warranty.
