Ok tried it! I’m wondering how you split expenses with your partner? We keep a Splitwise but then if I cover meals and he covers other things, it looks lopsided.

Good question! So I have all my accounts and all his accounts on the same spreadsheet, so I can see the total spent on each category as a household, and also see the progress made on our separate debts and savings each month. As far as splitting expenses goes, we share a credit card that we use for basically everything and we each pay half of the balance each month. If one of us wants to make a large purchase on our own, we just put it on our separate credit cards. In your case though, using your example, maybe it’d be easier if you had fewer categories in the spreadsheet, like combining the meals category with one of the others that he usually covers, and then try to maintain a total between the two, if that makes sense?

Usually that just means you need to expand the column because it cannot show all of the number.

Thanks! You have to save it as a copy, otherwise if you try to edit the template it will change it for everyone
