Adventure sailing documentary film about sailing small sailboats. Cruising on small sailing catamarans and dinghies from Croatia to Norway, from summer to winter. www.alivesailing.com/ / skipper_igor
This is really AWESOME! And most definitely needs to be submitted to the Banff Mt Film Festival competition! They don't hardly ever have sailing vids, and this one could break the mold and make it happen.
You certainly live the "Go small, go simple, go now" principle. I watched all your videos, fantastic that you venture out regardless of weather. From cruising huge cats, to sailing dinghy's, fantastic.
There are a million people recording hours and hours of irrelevant journeys, and then there is Igor Stropnik, who records just a few hours of the most original, modest and spectacular journeys ever made. Igor, you are the best of your kind, and perhaps the only one. Suggestions: 1) After so many monohulls and catamarans, you only need to sail a trimaran and a Proa, right? 2) Come to Spain and sail all the green north coast, from the Basque Country to Asturias and Galicia.
Hi Igor - many comments here so you may not see this but I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anyone push smallboat sailing in northern latitudes like you’ve done. I’m a fellow adventurer and am super impressed by your ability to push the limits in the North but remain safe and come home in one piece. Really cool. My wife and I hope to charter with you in Croatia some time soon. Keep up the content please!!! cheers, Brian
This, and other of his videos, demonstrate that Igor is a virtuoso sailor. And he doesn't do it to be a hero. He does it because it gives him pleasure. Compare and contrast with thousands of others who "think" they know about sailing, and in comparison they know nothing. I would trust Igor above any other living person to negotiate the globe not just safely, but in the spirit of true adventure that does not require a vessel costing £xxx, xxx but a boat that is right for the job in hand. KUDOS!
I had wet eyes, I would say 1.000 Persony you asked everbody would say that is "impossbile" you did. But you did it, get to the boundry. Loving to see this passion for Sailing! Everythink on the website "Best of my sailing history:" are meaningless I´m my oppion, you did much greater! Thanks
Great video, Igor! We showed it to our kids and they really got a feel for who you are and the adventurous spirit that lives inside you. You are a modern day adventurer and explorer. I sailed with Igor in 2021. What an amazing time in Croatia. I’m going back to sail with him again in 7 weeks and taking my kids this time. We all can’t wait!
Ahoy, Captain Stropnik! Impressive images of his trajectory as a sailor and explorer! Congratulations and thank you for the inspiring message! Fair winds and following seas!
Hey Igor, always enjoy your content ... thanks for sharing your earlier adventures with us! I've seen in some other videos how fast those little catamarans can be ... they look like fun. Keep on keeping on and hope you continue to post more videos.
Ti si istina inspiracija! Since the first time I saw you videos few years back you inspired me to start doing this as well even though I have been thinking and dreaming about it for many years prior. I have since completed many sailing courses and sailed many places and enjoyed every moment and appreciated this unique experience sailing brings. Even have my own sailing dinghy now to slowly work my way up to experience this kind of adventure even though I started on bigger keel boats. Fair winds!
We are so proud of your achievements. Believed in you ever since. I remember when you entered in our sail factory and presented your first adventure :) Kdor išče cilj, bo ostal prazen ko ga najde, kdor pa najde pot, bo cilj vedno nosil v sebi! (Nejc Zaplotnik)
Non ho parole per esprimere la mia ammirazione. I tuoi video fanno venire voglia di riarmare il vecchio 420 che ho e imitare le tue avventure. Che ispirazione!
Bok Igor, You are really a crazy guy in the very positive way! The keep it simple and go, way. Fantastic what you did in all that adventures, unbelievable! You have my fullest respect. Not many people in the world could do that. Strong mind and a tough, brave and strong body. 💪🧑🎓 Greetings from Michi
I haven't seen you take that inflatable catamaran down the river yet, that's wild! I guess the inflatable catamaran probably was the best boat you've had to do that with lol
After watching your videos and others on you tube, my plan this sumer is to sail around Ireland. On a Hobie18 non stop would be 890nm, with all the stops I'd have to make would be about 2000nm. I'd like your advice on what to take and what NOT to. Regards Phil
Pozdravljen.
It would be great to see you and Norwegian Eric Aanderaa of No Bullshit Just Sailing NBJS get together for a chat. I think you’d relate well together. Cheers
I’m stunned. I like to sail in Norway and some day it is possible but your way is too much for fat man in middle age. But it is nice to watch your advebtures.
