I adopted my feather plucking African Grey Parrot Casey from Parrot Education and Adoption Center 10 yrs ago. My parrot Casey has been plucking for at least 16 years. At first, I thought my African Grey Parrot was plucking because she was sick until her blood work and Xrays came back perfect! Then I bought her all kinds of bird toys, and she still plucked. Finally, after 10 yrs past Casey, STOPPED feather destructive behavior when I bought Parrot Town's, Grape Vine Perch. I know this sounds crazy, but Casey's feet are now comfy and happy! Happy Parrot!

Probably not practical...but have you thought of using camera glasses ( yes on Amazon)? I follow one woman who does wild bat rescue in AU and uses these for taping. In your case, less stressful for parrots (?) Just an idea. BTW thank you for NOT overtly blaming folks for having to rehome things...life IS complicated and not everything has an easy fix ( not all animals are horribly abused).

She is sooo sweet. Thank you for this. My Gray of 20 years started picking about 2 years ago and it's killing me... I started giving him hemp oil and it seems to be helping but I'm definitely gonna check out these perches!!

Such a small change, and just what Casey needed. Your an amazing mom to figure this out. Let's hope this is the end of any more plucking. Victoria looks soooo much better, you can see it in her eyes. Thank you for sharing.

Hi don't often comment on this channel as didn't feel had any thing relevant to say. However just came across amazing science article( recent one) about greys. It said they are much smarter and intelligent than previously thought. They are caring loving to companions they choose to be with. They will share their food if others are missing out on food. This is by their choice and not because they get anything out of it. They feel empathy and definite suffer from ptsd . They understand sharing and loss. Therefore what alot of people who rescue have been saying is true. You have all been so right for so long. Sorry can't remember where or what institution carried out this research but it's recent. I was too amazed reading it to make notes.

You are such a perfect bird mom. I’m so happy they have you. I have 3 birds. 2 rescues and Benny. He’s a pink Galah. People don’t understand how amazing birds are. They are such emotional beings. I also love my guys so much. I worry about what will happen to them if I die. Always at the back of my mind. Thanks for saving those babies. You are amazing!

You are so lovely. Sometimes you see people find hobbies and or careers that suit them so well. You my dear are one of them. You’re not pushy and I believe any animal would just fall for you. Bless your heart for doing what you do.
