Yes visualisation, I'm doing that, keeping my eyes on the long-term goal and also focussing on habit changes. The only bad exercise session is the one you didn't do = 'just do it". Positive self talk and affirmation, I'm already doing this. I go with extravagant praise for the simplest of things. Get your family and friends on board with your healthy lifestyle journey, talk about the healthy eating, the lovely, colourful variety of food you're eating. I stay to group every week and I so enjoy the fellowship, support and warmth of members. I always want to eat slimming world friendly food.
Hi Nikki, it is lovely to see you on camera. I have been following you for quite a while on here and instagram. I am vlogging my journey and I have been going up and down the last few weeks with being ill but I am going to take your tips on board, the plan total works, I just have to do things a little different currently because of my health. After looking for inspiration on losing weight on youtube and instagram. I have came across this you tube video. I am a slimming world member but havent been due to health problems. The weight is going back on so this is why i have been looking for inspiration online and through slimming world magazines. I am hoing to challenge myself to losing 3 stone in 3 months. Im not putting myself under pressure. But i think i need a goal to work towards so thanks for this video.

A lot of people have great respect for you, including myself. Thank you for speaking the truth so clearly and encouraging us all. This plan really works, if you work it! I've just started to loose weight. I love going the gym now because I walk there feeling happy and walk out feeling even better. At first when I could not see results even though I was doing everything I needed to do I felt down. Instead of feeling down I tell myself you can do it and it will all change soon.
I'm away to join a group on Wednesday..I'm 36 size 16 just over 13st and I'm almost 5ft4...hearing this is very inspiring...iv done loaaaads of weight loss stuff...done well a good few years ago with Scottish Slimmers...the rest have been fad diets...I'm the heaviest iv ever been...life's been hectic I have 3 kids and try to get a wee nail business going....the weight has stopped me being sociable,and is always on my mind..I feel yuck health wise...I'm a positive person but feel I can't be myself....can't wait to get started xxx
Brilliant tips. I must admit I don't stay to group..by the time we've been around the group and clapped everyone the hours up! It would be so much better if that hour was used for recipes, image therapy etc xx
Lots of people are saying they don't follow slimming world because they are too young.... I'm 11 years old and I follow free 2go. its not the same as counting sins and stuff, but it works!
Hi Nikki, great video. I've just started slimming world. Everyone says "stay to group" but it just seems to be an hour of being told what's on the website this week (which I have already read) and listening to everyone's weight loss or gain for the week and listening to them being asked if they are happy with it. Is something else supposed to happen? It seems like a waste it time.
mahala Clarke I'd advise not restricting your syns too much. I've been having roughly 8-10 syns per day and I've lost 10lbs in 3 weeks. If you restrict them too much you may cave one day and eat more than the 15. Weight loss is good but restricting yourself too much can affect you later :)
I rejoined on Monday after losing 7 st last year for my wedding then putting 4 back on... Looking forward to making a real life change this time for good.

Thanks for making this video Nikki! I have been following your Instagram for a while but am struggling to fully commit to slimming world. I am finding it hard to consistently find slimming world friendly things to take to work for lunch and my family won't adapt dinners to fit in with SW. Any advice? :) x
Livvie7892 I have a similar issue with dinners. What I tend to do is eat syn free throughout the day and not eat my healthy extras then I can use my syns and healthy extras (if necessary) for my evening meal. As for work meals try a jacket potato with beans and salad or pasta or a big salad or homemade curries/stews with rice.
Hi, you must of been doing the old slimming world 15 years ago of the "red and green days"? Did you find it easy to swap over to what it is now?. Phew all the changes, and the so many " free foods " of yester year's changing. How was corned beef allowed as free food and not now?. I ate that a lot in quiches and for salads. Also so many tinned stuff, eg Macaroni cheese, burgers in gravy, sweetener granules were all free and so many that I can't remember now. Just seems mad. How come its changed so much over the years. Did they get it wrong at the start? I love food like any other and told you can eat as much pasta, spuds, rice and fill up on these and mix with meat and fish. I had to get my head round that. Most of my, well all of my adult life I've done what I was told and to be honest I'm still over weight but what I do do now is have pasta, spuds, rice but instead of eating it as free and gorge it just coz its free, I bulk my food with so many different veg and only a bit of carbs. I feel so much better, not bloated and not as tired. I'm back at Slimming world for the umpteenth time, 25 years in total and finely its making sense to me. I have so much more energy and love going for walks. Slimming world isn't a magic cure but it gives you inspiration. The different ways to prepare meals, cooking meals different, making better choices. Making meals from scratch is better. Its not rocket science or some miracle, its just lifestyle choices and now eventually I'm in a happy place. I think at the ripe old age of 50 plus, I get it. Phew what a journey. 😰
I'm currently 17 ... (18 in fifteen days) and I've just joined slimming world my first weigh in was 14st 12 and a half lbs and I lost 3lbs in the first week but my mum lost 6.5lbs and I just felt really disheartened but I feel like as the week progressed I ate less speed foods.... I just am struggling because my mum has to pay for the food shopping so she can't always buy the vegetables and fruit I like and it's just frustrating because we don't have a lot of money, but I really wanna do this, I'm starting a musical theatre course this September and I have to get fit for the dancing so I actually have to do this, I'm just worried about failure
