There was soooo much I could have included in this video, so I will make some separate videos explaining more. One thing I didn't mention was the money from ad revenue also includes the RU-vid membership. I currently have 62 people signed up at £1.99 and RU-vid takes 50% of that, although I didn't set the membership up for money, I did it so I could connect with like-minded people directly through the channel. 2. I have been having a monthly call with a Creator Coach (I think that's what he is called) - the calls are quite pricey but Alex keeps me on track and throws suggestions at me. I wanted to include it in this video but it was getting far too long. A nite about this: Alex suggests things that I'm not keen on - a few days pass and I realise he is right 😂 3. I also have a monthly call with a new RU-vid friend called Stefan (his channel is ru-vid.com ) - a super cool guy and extremely talented! We chat about what we have learned, the challenges and the problems we face. It's nice to share a conversation where someone is experiencing the same as me. I'll include him in the next update video. 4. This was the second time I filmed this video. The first time was.... lacklustre. I was bored editing it so started again 😆. All things I hadn't realised was 'a thing.' 5. Today has been an example of how long things take. I just got back from a week-long trip (video about it coming soon) - I had 7 memory cards from 5 cameras, plus the footage filmed on my phone. My computer struggled. Backed it all up, then did a second backup, then the hardrive got full so I had to start a new one. I had planned for this process to take 1 hour, it took 5! Ask any questions you have, I will try and answer as many as possible.

The mega goal is to live on the same road as my mum, or have two connecting houses. We have a really great time here - laugh a lot and Mumma T is so supportive of what I do and striving for.
Almost 37 grand in your first year?! That's great!!!! I am currently working very, very hard on my first (commercially viable) RU-vid video. It should be online in less than eight weeks so long as I continue to put in the hours and the effort needed. I really hope this works for me. I am officially unemployed and still claiming benefits. I want to be free from all of that and RU-vid looks like the perfect fit for me. I don't want to work in a warehouse anymore. On RU-vid I get to do what I love and play to my strengths. That hair comment was almost a compliment LOL. Some troll shave a lot of free time. I have a friend who has people making videos about her (a whole group of people hating on a 70 year old nice lady) and because i'm her friend and a moderator on her channel (and she only has 30K subs, she's not "THAT BIG") they made a few about me. One of them had my famous neon orange Converse with golden laces on the thuimbnail. It cracked me up 😆Trolls used to really bother me 2-3 years ago but thankfully i've gotten accustomed to it and yes, 99% of comments are great. I actually blabbed a bit abou tthat in the video i'm editing currently. trolls and why sometimes it takes me weeks to check my comments (bad, i know!!)
Dear Laura, you found a style that got you noticed by serious partners/sponsors, and continuously seek out new things to present. The 'bad hair' comment was so elaborate, it made me think that some viewers might be under the influence of substances at the time of writing. Thankfully, most are genuinely interested! Thanks for taking the time and putting in the effort to make your videos interesting and beautiful. (this accidentally went onto the next video, oooops!)
Laura, I have only just found you and now binging on your videos! 🤣😂 You are an absolute inspiration and little powerhouse. I can't believe all the stuff you've achieved. 💪💪💪 Well done you! Glad you've found a way to deal with all the negative comments I can imagine how hard that must be. Like you have now realised, any nay sayers I also feel really sorry for because a happy person just simply wouldn't go there. A tip I heard just yesterday was to imagine stripping away the human form/image or imagery surrounding those hurtful words, just leaving the heart, and send that beating heart pure love. ❤️ It ripples through the universe and love conquers all. You have inspired me to start my own RU-vid channel now at the age of 54! All about living with dogs the healthy way, the launch of my dog treats co and then eventually expand to doing road trips with them in my truck around Scotland if I can get a sponsor to give me a roof tent by then. 🤔😂 Wish me luck! Hey Michael, thanks so much! I have several videos giving info about RU-vid on my list so likely you'll see those within a year. I'll be using Skillshare for some of my videos in the future: speed typing, Rubix cube, Spanish. I also like classes like vision boards. Considering indoor gardening too.
My career type work was offshored a few years ago and I was at an age considerd to old to change careers. Ended up driving a bus 🚌, what a nightmare job. After a while I realised that a certain percentage of the population are going to be nasty, rude and even threatening no matter what environment they were in. If only one in 20. commenters is negative I'm a nasty way then you are doing well. Some people are also living with things like extreme depression and mental illness and cannot see how someone can be having an interesting or worthwhile life at all and are crying out for answers, which is why they are watching the likes of your channel to start with. I find your channel inspiring even though there is no way I could emulate everything you achieve.
Thank you for your comment Stephan, yes, I totally agree with you here, many people living with struggles and in sadness. (I used to be one of them, although not with the negative comments). The thing I say is 'everyone is trying their best" and somehow it relieves the sadness of this comments.

As a new, learning youtuber, any comment, positive or negative makes me happy.😂. I haven't had negative comments yet, but have some dislikes. Generally, I don't think one receives negative comments until he or she makes something that makes a meaningful impact AND, bizarrely, until the film you produce is excellent in several ways. You videos are both. I hope the negative comments never bother you again. Your films are brilliant.

Laura you are undoubtedly an inspiration. The negative comments seem to be big for anyone that sticks their head above the parapet. Maybe you could invite a few out for an assault course or a bit of bog swimming. It may help them feel better about things. A positive comment barely gets a thumbs up a rude one goes right up there so it's more about getting recognized .
Very well done ! RU-vid just announced advertising revenue of $6.8 BILLION just in the 1st 3 months of 2022, so don't be shy to get your share ! I see other channels use "Top Ten" lists to aggressively grow their channels. Also from what I see, once you hit 100k, it takes far less time to get to 250k. For me, the value add is the content, not so much the "look and feel", so for me, I would spend far less on the editing which would free up more time for more videos. Again, a great result and foundation to build on. Looking forward to seeing you go up the "Socialblade" rankings ( it boggles the mind how much those in the top 10 of the categories must be earning ... 😲 But good luck to them ! )

Positive comment: Wow that is amazing very informative. I watched your rowing across the Atlantic and the part where you rowed for 9 hours making only 4 miles of progress but... others lost 10 miles progress and that tremendous amount of effort with such little amount of progress that is just heart breaking but you kept on going and WON. Then I decided to watch other videos your content is really well put together and I watch to much youtube videos. Keep up the great work.
That's interesting. After years of using it sporadically and not making any real edited videos (I started in 2006 when you literally sat in front of the computer, blabbed for 10 minutes and uploaded that... oh, and remember video responses? When you could post a video in the comments in response to another video? Those were fun. They should bring them back!) i started doing it with more intent in 2019 and my RU-vid went from 150 to finally reaching 1000 subscribers in the summer of 2020. But since then i'm stuck, i've been at 1160 FOREVER and nothing moves. I think i make fun content, some of my videos have subtitles, i speak 2 languages, i travel and live in interestign cities, i have a cool cat AND a RU-vid pink koala co-host (he's not from Australia though, Pancho is from Montréal), I've have been working and improved my filming and editing skills... The algorithm hasn't picked me up yet. Which is kind of a blessing because it gave me the time to learn, make mistakes, learn to deal with bad comments, etc..... But i'm kinda ready to step it up. Gonna get a RODE lapel mic soon, adding more "secondary cameras" (other phones on other tripods) and will try to upload once a week (hard to do when you work a real job). I discovered you recently and you're a very cool and interesting person! I loved the sending your phone to Australia thing. Not a lot of people would do that kind of wacky stuff, but that's my style ❤

There is real honesty in your videos. It is refreshing. It reminds me to do the things that spark my interest and make me feel present in my life. Your videos help me get through the doldrums... Congrats on your first anniversary. Well done, it's very encouraging. Hubby and I found you last year from your 7-day fast video. We were both so impressed and its pushed us to start thinking more about our own health. Hubby made a Finnish sauna in our garden, so all we need is our bin full of water and we can do the ice baths then sauna. Plus, I'm loving my Vivo barefoot, wouldn't have found them without you. However there's something I'd like to share that has helped me wonderfuly with my well being, that might help you with the negative chin music some people are unable to keep bottled up.... An enriching way to stay positive when others are determined to drag you down to their level is to Forgive Them for Everything they've said.. I am so curious to know if you have gone on to learn a new language and hip hop dancing! I did 4 months of Hip Hop this year and have been learning a new language for about 8 years and what a wild ride😄 I started guitar lessons too recently, learning new stuff really is a fun adventure!!!

It's right to feel sorry for the negative ones, it's got nothing to do with your videos, they are negative about everything. They just haven't understood that you just want to make other people happy. All the best for the future.
