@@chimdi Exactly, I like to think I'll be here a few years building for the future whilst living an adventure. I'm actually planning to move to the coast soon. Either Oaxaca coast or Quintana roo. I wanted to ask you if you have any advice in building a real community that you can see often, be social and truly connect with?
Woohoo, congratutulations!!! I would say you have to be proactive about getting to know people and for the folks who feel good, intentionally spending time with them one-on-one. Also, because Q Roo attracts a lot of nomads and expats, recognize that you may become close friends only for them to move away, but keep pouring into that relationship because they'll probably come back!
Oh my gooooooooddddd how I LOVE to see black women living the life and having things coming easy to them 💃🏾 thanka for the insight abt mexico ive always been curious abt latin america. Would love to know how you feel abt the safety there?
LISTEN, I AGREE!!!! I have been so inspired by all of the other Black women who have made this trip before me. It feels SUPER safe here in Playa, especially after living in Baltimore and Brooklyn. Like, leave all of your stuff on the beach and go for a swim safe. But I didn't actually FEEL safe until I released the fear I already had.
I love Mexico and LOVED living there. The cost of living and lifestyle is a big pull. I was in Tulum for a good while and am heading back in a few months. Appreciate the WhatsApp link 😎
Simone, it is SUCH A VIBE!!!!! I've only been to Tulum once but I definitely want to do another day trip. Here's the link: chat.whatsapp.com/LWN2AGLzYHw9oWsdcWw9lH
@@chimdi Thank you! Tulum is way worth more than a day trip. If you’re still there when I get back, it would be fun to hang out and I’ll show you the fun places to go too ✨
congrats on your move! love hearing how things lined up synchronistically for you! gives me more inspiration for my own journey! thanks for always sharing...you!
Thanks for sharing your move Chimdi! I did a similar move last year and went through a lot of what you talked about. I also love the Jesus on the boat in the storm reference. Enjoy your time in Mexico.
I seen You on the beach yesterday not too long after the algorithm pushed this video to me. You seemed to be in such a moment of gratitude witnessing the beautiful sunset we all shared in that moment and I didn't want to be a bother. Talk about alignment✨ So happy You landed here and know there is Divine Purpose to it all. I'm sure to come across You again in these Calles, for sure! Be well, Godis🙏🏾
That sunset was SO beautiful!!! I love that you were there too. DM me if you ever want to meet up for a beach hang!! And Amen to the divine purpose of it all, I am so grateful for the journey that brought me here and for the unfolding of everything that is to come.
Always right on time Chimdi! So happy for you and can’t wait for the journey in Mexico! Your perspective has always helped me with my internal struggles with corporate and creativity. I appreciate you fully for that!
Ugh, I am so happy for you. I’ve always fantasized about moving out of Maryland. It’s so expensive. But adding a whole family to the mix makes it more difficult to imagine. Sending you prayers through the hurricane! Your positive mindset really inspires the hell out of me.
Ky!!! It's definitely a different ball game when you have a family but I know you will be able to find the freedom that you want for you and everyone you love. Thank you for your prayers, I appreciate you!!! 🥰❤️🙏🏽
Chimdi, this was an amazing video. You expressed everything so well. Thank you for sharing and reminding me that anything is possible with God + Faith 🫶🏾
That's awesome for you girl!!! Love it congrats on living alone again love that for you. I definitely related to the part where you were talking about not being able to rely on people. This literally just came up for me the other day like that fear of asking for help and then being rejected and feeling nobody cares enough about me to help me with this. And that's definitely trauma that I need to unpack. As always love your videos and I really appreciated being part of hello creator today. I didn't know what to expect but I definitely felt like I was supposed to be there. I look forward to the next one 😊
Whew, I am SO GRATEFUL to have my own space again!!! And girl, I legit used to believe that I would rather live on the street then ask someone for help 😭😭 but I just didn't want to experience the trapped pain of the times I needed help and didn't get it! And yay, it was so awesome to get to connect during today's call!! I hope you got that extra boost to actually edit and post your next video!!!! 😍😍😍
Chimdi, I also use Google Fi! I am not sure if it had changed much since 2018, but I was outside of the US for 97 days vack then, and it was fine. I didn't use international data, just WiFi, though. I am currently in the Dominican Republic, so I was wondering about that if I wanted to do extended stays at all-inclusive resorts just because I could do it rather than pay for US expenses, and the beach is so nice.
Oooh extended resort stays sounds like the DREAM 😍 Yeah my friend out here used Google Fi here and she got locked out after about a month and a half, so I think once you hit more days outside of the US vs. inside within a 90 day period, they can cut you off 😭
ooooo thanks for sharing that whatsapp link in the comments. I'm a full time nomad with no home base. It's a whole skill set to just figure out where the fuck to live for 3 months at a time over and over lol
Super straightforward, you basically just need the deposit and one month's rent. Most of the time the deposit is the same but sometimes it's half or there's none!
Oh yay, it would be awesome to have you join! Check out @ hellocreatorworld on Instagram, you can join there. And you can RSVP for weekly creator meetings, I host the one on Wednesday!
