About not being obsessed with numbers and the proper number of things to own (or to do) I've recently read a sentence about minimalism and mindfulness that perfectly embodies what I think in this respect. I'll share it here, in case it might interest or inspire someone else: "Enough is a decision not an amount". Thanks for your video, lovely as per usual 😘 🌹

The book that changed my life, my marriage, and my relationships with my children is the Bible. If you haven't read it yet, I think you'd find it very interesting. There is so much great advice about minimalism, slow living, and budgeting within it's pages.

Buying second hand is something I’ve always done (nothing like the thrill of finding a Cath Kidston dress in a charity shop!) especially back when eBay was a particularly frugal way to shop. I love the idea of making a list and budgeting throughout the year for things like trips and experiences. Thank for this video, not enough is said about managing money

I found that living in a tiny cottage helped me see just how many things I own. Over time I have naturally needed less things and buying good quality I can afford makes a huge difference. You find you just don't want to have to think about a new pair of shoes more than once every few years 😂

I follow a lot of these tips as well. I try to save up and buy from brands that are known for their ethical practices rather than heading to a fast fashion store and picking up cheaper items that wear out easily. I also try to get the maximum use out of the clothes that I do have. Even if I bought something from a fast fashion store many years ago, I still use it instead of throwing it away. I get a lot of hand me downs too! I don't remember the last time I bought a "sleeping t shirt" because I get old ones from my brother :)

Hi Molly Yes a lovely mug is essential I decluttered alot until I had to stop felt I was eliminating my life and it got out of hand, it was making me miserable, but I invest in plants instead of ornaments, but things are to enjoy, I just do not want to get greedy and being content is a wonderful place to be, love the channel thank you for sharing xxx

Thank you for sharing your experience! Yes, I agree that decluttering can go a bit far! I think a slow and steady approach to decluttering works best :)

Thank you. I enjoy your videos very much. I love vintage drinking glasses and will drink water or juice out of a fancy vintage glass and it brings me joy. Drinking out of my daughter’s handmade pottery mugs is a delight. I used to impulse shop but do not anymore. I make shopping lists and stick to it. In and out of the store as quickly as possible. And I get my veggies from the farmers market which feels better and is a higher vibration of food. Blessings to you and yours. I am in Arizona.

Thank you Molly what an interesting video. I decided a few years ago to settle on a clothing style that I felt comfortable with and suited me. It has taken a long time to have the wardrobe I wanted. I do however wait for the sales as Gudrun Sjoden clothes are quite expensive! At the beginning of Summer this year I discovered I had been holding onto a lot of clothing from years ago. So I got out my full length mirror and spent a few days looking at how my clothes looked on me, did I really like them! why was I wearing the same three dresses all the time that were far too big for me etc! I finally have a summer and autumn wardrobe that is tidy and fits me properly! Everything else is now packed away. It did take me a long time to sort out my wardrobe yet now each day it is now so quick to find something nice to wear and that I feel confident in. I also try and have a small wardrobe and have found that I am managing quite well! I did then buy a few really nice scarfs in the sale to bring variety to how each outfit looked. I feel I am managing my money better regarding how to add to it and always ask myself could I do with less. So I could place three items in my shopping cart and then decide to only have one of two items. I always wait until the following evening to see if I still feel the same way about buying a new item. Have a lovely week!

I love your channel ❤ personally, I went through a huge declutter of clothes, books and kitchen items during covid first lockdown and it really helped me spend more consciously (or not spend at all 😅) except for food...I still own too much stuff, to be true, but before going further with decluttering, what I do know when I pick up something I haven't been using for a while, is just try to make use of it. I did it with a huge blender I bought online 3 years ago. It sit in my cupboard for three years and I just started making a good use of it now... ❤

Good video. Lots to think about. Two years ago I started having a budget of £365pa for my clothing. I have a separate pot on my bank account. It really helped me to pause. It also allowed the odd expensive purchase! Last year I finally allowed my self to buy a Nordic woollen cardigan. I love it, it was within my budget and it will probably outlast me.

I like to spend money on a few more ethical clothes than buying lots of things. One area where I spend a lot of money, probably more than reasonal, is food because I like to eat organic if possible and eat healthy and delicious food. Plus, I don't eat out regularly. I don't have expansive hobbies and use the library quite a bit. However, I also like to buy some books as the English section in my current local library isn't that big and there are just some books I cannot find there (e.g. any classics!).

Completely agree, Molly; good advice, tips, etc. 😊 ... I don't think we can have too many books 😉 "If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all." -- Oscar Wilde -- By-the-way, the mug you had today, with the little lavender sprig... 😍 gorgeous! Okay: difficult to have too many books & mugs. 😊

Hi Molly, greetings from the Nederlands. I really love your channel, it gives me joy and inspiration. Thank you for that. I am really curious about your view on 'children' and your future. You said something in a video once. It is mixed for me still. Part because I am also vegan en high sensitive. I understand if it is to personal to answer. Greetings from me and my dog-bestie Gaia🤗

Hey lovely, I'm really glad you enjoy my content :). I never really thought I'd have children, even before I was vegan, as it wasn't a lifestyle I was drawn too. I adore my friends children and love having them in my life, but for lots of reasons, with my personal values being part of it, its unlikely I will decide to have my own. I know this decision can be alienating, even in this day in age, so I hope you find my answer helpful :)
