Today I want to discuss how I plan on minimizing cardiac side effects while on TRT.
The first thing I want to do to promote heart health on TRT is taking an ARB as a prophylactic against detrimental cardiac remodeling. It seems like there could be some interaction between exogenous testosterone and angiotensin II which could result in heightened blood pressure. I'm unfamiliar with my risk factor, so I want to make sure I stay safe. I'm doing this by taking 20mg of telmisartan every day.
The next thing I'll do to keep my heart healthy is to keep my cholesterol in check. I did a video called "How I lowered my Cholesterol by 130 points without statins" and it basically comes down to a high fiber diet.
The third thing I'll do to keep my heart healthy on TRT is keeping my bodyweight under 190lbs. When my body weight starts to go above that, I start to see a slight increase in blood pressure. I want to stay in a healthy bodyweight full time.
The fourth thing I'll do to keep my heart healthy is I'll continue to do cardio every day. I do a combination of low intensity and high intensity cardio throughout the week and I believe this approach is best for the heart.
The final thing I'll do to keep my heart healthy is manage stress. I don't currently have real problems, and if I maintain that outlook I'll be fine.
