I've been a personal trainer for 10 years. I grew my business to the point where I have 8 employees and a great gym in the Pittsburgh area. I'm bringing you all the information that I've used to help my clients live a strong, healthy, and fulfilling life.
I think it was a reasonable rate of weight loss. As the owner of an HRT and medical weight loss clinic in also believe it added experience to my clinical knowledge of the medication.
Thanks homie. Since I’ve started TRT (200mg per week, 1000iu of HCG per week) I’ve gained almost 25lbs in 6 weeks. Mostly all water so I’m hoping things level out and I lose some water. Blood pressure looks good, I credit the cardio and telmisartan but I haven’t done follow up labs yet. I’ll make a video on this soon.
bro, congradulations, easy set, 3 years late. I can remember when I repped 315 for twenty in training at the gym , and 405 x 2 at 205 bodywt at a bench contest, its a cool feeling.
It’s the same with me, I’m an endurance athlete, I’m within my weight and BMI, but my cholesterol is 262. I’ll try this method of increasing my fiber intake , also did you include any supplements or meat? And how long did it take for you to see the changes.
PR is 275. I’m good with that. Got my own lifting schedule that works for me. As long as you keep at it and lift every day, you’ll be better off than not lifting. Keep at it bros 💪
I know this is an old video, but Thank You. Please post an update video if you have any recent updates that are important. I'm in the same boat.. Doc has prescribed me a statin, but I'm hesitant to take it. I'm in my 50's, but very active and exercise regularly. Like you, I've lost 25 pounds, lowered my triglycerides into the normal range, and subsequent blood work actually shows an increase in LDL and HDL both. My concern is apoB level specifically, so I'm now loading up on large amounts of both soluble and insoluble fiber - staying away from simple carbs, but adding Ezekiel bread, a lot of chia seeds, flaxseed, and psyllium husk. Hopefully this does the trick.
Just my opinion , I don’t think the weight gain helps the bench because of shorter bar path. I really think your body is just more anabolic.. more protein, more glycogen , probably a psychological edge as well knowing you’re bigger.
I was training volume for 35 years. And all my lifts were plateaued. I didn't realize at the time my body will not move forward in size or strength if I train inside 5 days. And this is a problem affecting MILLIONS of weight trainers. The problem is they will never know why. So will never get near their true genetic potential. I've been training this way for 9 months. Put 2 inches on my arms and 5 inches on my chest. And at 61 years old. An age all my peers are on the way down or can't even train anymore from overuse injuries and shot joints. Go to HEAVY DUTY college. Thats where the magic is. If I can make these improvements at 61. A 25 year old will do even better.
It depends where you’re starting but here is a skeleton program. I like descending sets. So my first is the heaviest then I drop it a bit for all subsequent sets. 4-6 weeks of 4x10, making progress where you can. Try to PR on your last week or two. 4-6 weeks of 4x5, making progress and attempting PR’s on your last week or two. Deload for a week. 3 weeks of 4x3 Take 3 days off. Max bench attempt. Basically periodize your program making small PRs over time in differing rep ranges culminating in a max.
If the patient is obese we normally use a calorie deficit, exercise, and GLP-1RAs to get the weight off. We also use TRT if the patient is hypogonadal. That helps surprisingly well. If the person isn’t obese and has optimal hormone levels and it’s not a result of sickness then we’ll use a supplement called SPM, and change their lifestyle (for instance, if they’re smoking, we encourage them to stop). I hope this helps.
One correction - low DHEA-S can be caused by psychosocial stress, not necessarily physical stress from hard exercise. Acute exercise has been shown to increase DHEA-S, at least in the short term.
The pause bench is another variation on the full length video. The Spoto has 3 purposes. One is to focus on the eccentric, the second is to potentially help with the sticking point. The third is If you have some sort of injury and full ROM aggravates it.
Thanks bro. However, I did just start TRT on 5/5/24. I’m open about this in my recent videos. Although 99% of my videos are pre-trt, I currently started testosterone so I am officially not natty.
I was stuck at just under 265 for a while. I found that once i started lifting heavier instead of for reps and gaining more weight i got from 275 to 315 pretty quickly. Currently sitting at 220 Ibs and benching 365 for one rep max. I want 405 badly now. But the chase to 225 felt like it was yesterday.
Makes sense. If you want to get good at lifting heavier there should be times in the program where you’re doing less reps and more weight. Good luck on 405. That’s a big number.
In your standard commercial gym you’re probably right. Walk into a powerlifting style gym and you’ll see a handful of guys benching over 300lbs drug free. Or if you can’t do that just watch collegiate nationals for powerlifting and pretty much all the lifters over 90kg are benching into the 300s. Some even 400+ and these guys are young and drug tested. I guess there’s ways to beat the test but I’ve trained several collegiate national qualifiers and I can say definitively they’re drug free. Believe what you want to though; the advice still stands. Bench correctly, bench often, and get bigger.
If you have medicaid coverage, many dentists will not participate with it as such insurance plans do not even offer enough reimbursement to cover overhead expenses to break even. Many dentists also refuse private dental insurances for the same reason, not to mention insurance often never fully covers dental care in America. America: We pay the highest prices for the very lowest, worst quality healthcare.
I never got to this number the first time around (think I got near 280) but just hit a measly 225 last week at almost 46 years old and 9 months back at the gym. I hope I can creep the numbers back up but am unsure at my age if 315 is a step too far.
I'm 54 and just benched 260 for 7 reps. I pushed 335 for 1 at my peak in my twenties. I am challenging myself to see if I can get back to that strength level. My point is, 46 is not that old.
@@craigjones4810 cheers mate, I'll keep pushing myself and see where I can get. I don't feel old, just wonder what's realistic to gain in my 40's. I'll never know if I don't keep trying though. Keep up the grind and it sounds like you'll get where you want to be strength wise too.
1 year 2 months at bench, what has occurred? 4 month plateaus with 30 lb launch phases over a month. The whole routine appears to be plateau driven, so I don't have a basis to see a plateau as something I am doing wrong. Of course, one more launch phase at 215 to slam to 245 is all I ask, God. So then they say take these supplements, see the 3 month research study on the gains, and try this or that technique. Yeah, and 4 months go by and you go up. But at 245 to 265, seems to be a drop dead nothing you are going to do to get over it else Tren zone, presumptively.
Interesting, your cholesterol panel looks great. Only thing that concerns me a little bit is your kidney function. You appear to be around 30 or so years of age, your eGFR should be higher than 72, ideally anyway. A high BUN and creatinine reading can also be indicative of stressed kidneys. You may want to explore stopping your creatine supplementation. Just my 2 cents, I'm no doctor but I routinely get labs done as well.
I think if I stop the creatine and take a few days off from the gym before my next labs I’ll get a more accurate read on my kidneys. I agree with the eGFR, it’s in range but definitely a little low. One thing I noticed with that, and this sounds nutty, but the type of allergy medication I take influences that marker a bit.
@@Wallace_Fitness_Center thank you! I’m trying to find the best way to lose belly fat as a 47 year old in menopause. lol my doc said my bmi is too low for anything to be prescribed but this belly apron is horrible. Any non-prescription supplements or anything at all you would recommend that could help?
Yeah check out my video “5 steps to losing weight and keeping it off.” And “How to use Myfitnesspal to lose weight” That will help from a non-prescription perspective. As for medication - If you’re trying to get HRT or GLP-1 receptor agonists your PCP probably isn’t the person to contact. If you have a reputable HRT clinic in your state that understands perimenopausal females you should reach out to them. They could help you out. The unfortunate part of that is that it’s usually out of pocket care. If you’re a PA resident then you can reach out to my clinic and we could help you.
