Listen casper.... Your mind and body work together to form our realities. If you're feeling empty.. like your living life on auto pilot, numb, or an NPC. There could be some form of separation from your mind and body. Somewhere our routines became our life, somewhere we stopped caring, somewhere we stopped feeling like it mattered.
It happens but it's a hard way to live. If you feel like your feeling like a ghost there are a couple things that you can do to maybe help find your way back to the mortal plane of existence.
Start to recognize what you should be feeling (Even if you don't feel it). If you get a gift or see soemthing that used to excite you, or experience hardship.. Pay attention and start reminding your body what those experiences used to feel like.
Stop distracting yourself. When our brains experience negative emotions we tend to run away or distract. This gets tricky because if you aren't used to expressing emotions you might not even realize they are there. Staying in bed all day, binge watching a show/ video games, even going shopping are all ways that we maybe distract ourselves and sometimes thats okay but if it happens alot, pay close attention and you'll notice that certain things may be triggering the distractions. Next time you feel like doing one of these behaviors ask yourself if you've experienced anything that might make you feel a negative emotion, maybe something somebody said, maybe a deadline, maybe you saw something you didn't like on social media. Take a second to stop and pinpoint what you've been going through.
Feeling like your floating, or distant from the world we live in can start to be solved by recognizing the very things that make us human. Our emotions, both positive and negative. Feeling like your life is on pause can be hard but keep in mind that reconnecting your body and mind are key. Lean into to feelings you have and greet them as they come and see them off as they depart. Even if you don't recognize the feelings acknowledging them as they come will help. Overtime you'll begin to start feeling again. Good luck y'all.
