the fact that he casually drops in a song like "My Blue Heaven" as a special, shared song between him and his wife for many years, decades even....it makes this the most wholesome and real exchange. It gives additional color & gradient to an already fascinating individual. And the fact that it's an old jazz standard I wasn't familiar with makes it even better!

The dynamic Jordan and his wife have is EXACTLY like the dynamic my grandparents exhibit. They were my only ever-reliable source of love and support when growing up, and so to see Jordan remind me so much of my grandfather fills me with indescribable joy and warmth. But Jordan is, like my grandfather, not just a father figure to me, but someone to whose personality and way of thinking I connect to on the deepest of levels. I don’t know know what my life in this world would look like without him, and I can only thank divine providence for bringing his light to shine upon the people who need it most: noble souls in search for salvation.

Then do get it! Be the kind of man than can build and maintain such a relationship. That's an exercise I've done since I started considering dating and later taught my younger brother. I also think it helped me find an incredible partner and will hopefully help me protect my relationship with him.

Nothing more beautiful then the true innocence of a child. Each child is a precious soul. We need to concentrate on our children so they don't have to experience the trauma we the parents have experienced. We need to save our children from the traumas we unknowingly pass on to them. Great sentiments! Just don’t take it too far and become a devouring mother. As JP once said - every mother must eventually live the Virgin Mary archetype at some point. Meaning they must let the world bite their kids - enough to strengthen them and adapt them - but not so much it destroys them. (obviously). Best

It sometimes weird to watch Jordan Peterson, because I can really relate in the sense that my mind is also quite obsessive. My mind is busy almost all the time, even when I was a little kid. One very important way for myself to decompress is to shield myself of from the world and/or people.

BALANCE. I've truly tried to balance mind, body and spirit. For me mind is my work and reading books to learn, body is the gym 3-5 days a week, and the spirit is trying to find God. I just feel "off" when one of these is severely lacking.

More of finding a purpose which isn't necessarily only rainbows and joy but something you're willing to work for a bit so you'd actually appreciate the fruits of the "labor". Cause while kids are fun, they also bring about problems right? But you find purpose in being responsible for them. So his way of decompression is not to be idle and lax, but to find something he'll work for (not suffer ofc) but the sum good it brings is higher than its bad. Idk if I made any sense but hey, I tried 🤣

Gee, all I have is creative endeavour. And it's a lot of fun and I'm completely absorbed by it, in genuine joy and extreme concentration, but I cannot stop. When I have to stop, I'm either drinking or sleeping. There's nothing outside the realm of creativity, because the outside world doesn't seem real, it's flat, it's made out of cardboard. It's been that way ever since I was a little girl. No one saw me there - and school, what a monumental waste of time and a soul killer - so I made up my own world, with real people and real challenges, to make up for that Disneyland BS I was presented with.

I can relate on many levels. My solution was to make the creative endeavor my life and it's going way better than I could've expected and most people could hope for. However I'm appreciating the beauty in this world outside of it more and more as well (psilocybin experiences helped with that). I would say, try to incorporate all that artistic energy into the world. It's not as depressing as school.

interesting that Dr.Peterson said that his home was his place of refuge and source of peace because it seems like that is the Islamic idea as well (at least that is what I heard an Islamic speaker - Nouman Ali Khan -say).
