I was 10 years old when I told my older brother that I can see myself playing this game forever, but he laughed and said "you'll grow out of it and move on." Now I'm 23 and I still love this game so much. Not only did I create the best memories in LBP, but it also helped me through the worst times of my life. Moreover, if it weren't for LBP 2 I would have never met my favourite person and best friend who is still with me to this day.
Little Big Planet is phenomenal. My dad is the one who got me into gaming, and this one was one of the last games we actually got to play together before he quit playing them. Super fun and fond memories. Thank you for covering because it deserves all the love
I plan on buying a ps3 just so i can re-live the hypest moments of video game history from my childhood so you can bet your ass that I'm going back to craft world
LBP was my life as a kid and I almost cried when I found out the servers were being shutdown it truly was the most fun and creative game I've played and I'm glad to see others feel the same about it.
I'd like to let people watching know that union isn't the only community server available. Refresh and infinite are both going strong and are just as playable. The culture on each server is different enough that they're all worth checking out. Great video btw. I love watching ppl's lbp retrospectives
Obligatory: "I hate LBP Infinite, grr grr grr" But, if you're willing to buy a second copy of the game to patch with Refresh, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go, since it *is* more technically advanced than lighthouse, the biggest problem is that there aren't as many people playing on either of those servers. Also, lighthouse 2 is in development at the minute, which'll basically make the code more accessible and open-source, which should hopefully allow for those servers to catch up and improve upon everything else.
I fricking love little big planet! sadly I was super young when the severs closed so I only really got to experience the story mode, yet still it is one of my fav games I am sad I missed so much creativity
although my family wouldn't let me play online (and i had no idea that you could), littlebigplanet is still a staple of my childhood. me and my siblings would play together for hours either going through the main levels, doing random crap in creative mode, or throwing our controllers across the room (the wheel still sucks). sad that i didn't get to experience it's full potential, but glad i was able to experience it in the first place
Really great video, got a little teary eyed during the panel demo section. With the servers shutting down its been really sad knowing that future generations might not be able to experience the magic that was this game and its community.
I miss my favorite game, all the nights I used spend playing this game. Now I am graduated and have a job that takes most of my free time. Little big planet was a master piece. still haven't played a game that can even be on the same plane as it. Video put a tear in my eye.
As soon as I heard the Introduction theme in LittleBigPlanet 1 again last week with my friend, I had tears in my eyes remembering the great times playing all of the levels online at my old house, and making memories with my friends at school too. I miss this series and I hope a 4th game that’s properly made on release comes out on PS4 and PS5 someday soon. Thanks for the great video, made me cry at the end smiling too.
This is deadass one of the most entertaining documentaries ive ever seen. LBP is my all-time fav game. I'm glad it's still celebrated. Amazing work, keep it up 🔥
I started with LBP 2 and I didn't want to, but I have to comment here. This game helped me through my childhood depression. It gave me inspiration to at least... try. And I became a dev myself because of it. It taught me how to study to create better levels, giving me inspiration. Knowing NOW that LBP ended makes me sad, but it also reminds me how good things always ends and everything in life has a cycle, being it long or short, and it will stay in our minds forever. If we find another fellow LBP player, you better know that you're gonna spend time talking about the game, reminiscing how LPB 2 changed our lives forever... (Who here remembers Osvaldo Sniper in their childhood? A famous level creator that created levels such Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed and others? Aww man he was a fan favorite, including mine. I remember once I got inside his world when he was building and asking him how to create a level, he never answered me, but he was probably busy haha... dammn man, if LBP comes back to life I'll be definitely be making my first levels)
Wow, I think this video and your perspective is something every creator right now should share. You can feel numbers and algorithms controlling the space more than ever; it’s more than wonderful to see you indulge in your passions, and make commentary on the state of RU-vid and creator spaces in general. Topical and nostalgic, easily the best video I’ve seen in a while! Absolutely got a like and subscribe from me, looking forward to seeing more!
I can understand why many people hated lbp3 but I personally love that game, lbp1 made a great introduction to the serie, lbp2 made great stories and community levels, lbp3 made a great job on doing community levels
I never got the joy of playing LBP with friends online or local growing up as I had no internet but I'll be damned if that stopped me from making whole movies and levels to show off to my parents and play through myself, this game was my childhood and was a huge outlet for me. I'll never forget what LBP did for my creativity. I'm hoping LBP4 will be real one day and I'll be able to experience all the things I couldn't when I was younger.
Hey man, it's that one guy from that one bonelab stream again, jus checked up on u again, and holy shi! The grind is crazy, it is wild to see how far you've come, last time I checked it was, what, 3k subscribers, and a couple thousand views? You've really grown so far and still growing, I congratulate you and wish you luck on your journey going forward!
I played little big planet 3 when i was young but never knew you could play online levels, which is kind of sad with the fact that the servers shut down
LBP was tarnished by a company known for TVs they could have made the game console a side-hustle that people love, but no, the TV Sales alongside their no-gamed consoles matter more SABA is nothing but a soulless Mario clone that people only like because it's a Mario Clone
remember playing this in france with my arab cousins when i was suuuper young . i knew zero french or arabic , and they knew zero english . that was some of the most fun ive had playing any game ,,
AWWWW YEAH ANOTHER MAYORSKIIIIIII BANGERRRRRRR!!!! I never got to play LBP as a kid and always wanted too. I used to watch every tutorial, game play, Let's play videos etc etc. This video fills me with so much nostalgia and good background info on how the game was developed and its humble origins! Thank YOU MAYORSKI!!!! Great Quality Video!!!! My NEW FAVOURITE RU-vidR
The segment about online play reminded me of the different between LBP1 & LBP3 online. The people on LBP1 were friendlier and always allowed me to join, one even waved at me when I spawned in. When I tried to play LBP3 online, hardly anyone accepted me, if the game wasn't breaking because the online mode was a buggy mess, everyone was rejecting me.
i loved this game i platinumed the first 2, the sound tracks are amazing the song at the end of this got me so hyped for lbp2 when watching the trailer
I dug my ps3 from it's grave just to play beacon, the wonderful developers there deserved any and everything even as a little kid, lbp was amazing for me, I was hooked. I played it for hours on end and was glad when blew up in terms of popularity. I've forgotten about it, I'm sure some people have but if we spread awareness, it might just come back.
Fun fact: there were other sandbox games before LittleBIGPlanet, like Roblox before LBP was even a thing and Minecraft before LBP 2. (Roblox existed all the way back in 1989 believe it or not and was called Knowledge Revolution!)
Just looked it up there and wow yeah they were working on the basis of Roblox was built on since 1989! To call it Roblox tho is a stretch ,it didn’t start looking remotely like it until around 2005. But yeah that’s a cool fact,I thought only Gmod preceded LBP
Little Big Planet was the second game I ever played. I have only played the game once in my life for about three hours but to this day I still know that it was fucking great and it stayed in my mind ever since this vdeo reminded me of it
I feel they should do a complete compilation of little big planet like little big planets big planet with 1 2 3 and bring it to all consoles and pc add some new features and see if it takes off like roblox.
Wait... huh... little big planet was discontinued?! Dude that makes me sad now I was wondering why little big planet 1 or 2 or 3 didnt exist on the ps4 :( my childhood was in little big planet
