It is truly never too late to begin something. I started weightlifting at age 69 and now at 74 I’m continuing. Increasing my maximums too. I couldn’t be happier with myself.
My Type 1 Diabetic daughter was diagnosed at age nine in 2016 and that’s what led me to help her get going with carnivore in 2019. Really incredible having medical devices at home that show you what is really happening to the body image based on details in lifestyle .
Inspiring. It's important for us ladies passing through or past middle age to see these types of podcasts in the carnivore spaces. Young women with fast metabolisms and fewer cumulative chronic illnesses don't share the same experiences and it leads to more doubt as we struggle for the same results. I loved watching this. My grandma developed type 1 diabetes later in life - in her 60's. I have the gene for it too - it also is one of the Celiac genes, and I do have Celiac from it. Working to calm my immune system. Important topics today. Thank you 🙏💕
Martha is lovely and I so enjoy our time together on Friday nights in our private member group! Yes, words are heavy.. especially from a doctor! We carry them around as Gospel truth. Not good.. I often times find myself rebuking words spoken to me. Great interview! Lord bless you guys!! 🥰
@@ingela_injeelaWOW day 3 was 13 days ago!! I'm going strong and it's day 16 for me!!🎉 I have not weighed in yet, I really want to wait until 90 days to do that and prayerfully, I'll feel the weightloss and other benefits. I'm not as full of anxiety as before and have a goal to lose 70 lbs. Start weight 205lbs, 5ft. 7" tall, female, 52 years old.
@@vs0063 I'm happy for you! Please, just make sure not to under-eat. If you notice your fingers getting cold, you need to eat more. If your hair starts falling out, you need more protein. We are the same age, and I lost about 40 pounds (20 kilos) on Carnivore two years ago. But then I had a hysterectomy, and I totally fell back into sugar gluttony, like a total addict. And the following year, I gained all my weight back. So this time around, I know I can't afford a mis-step, because it can evidently snowball from just having one piece of birthday cake. Last time I lost weight rapidly, but I now realise that I ate way too little (so used to half starving myself for weightloss). I lost weight, yes, but also a lot of hair and muscles (and my chest went all deflated). So please, in your eagerness to see results, don't be in a hurry. Eat more! Allow for a good metabolism, (with warm fingers) and let your primary aim be health. Weightloss will come as a bonus. You said "with God's help", and I fully agree. We need Him, and with Jesus, we can achieve our long term goals, with patience and determination. All good qualities to foster. With love in Christ, from Sweden.
I was pretty shocked to hear she was eating a protein powder for breakfast instead of bacon and eggs. So I had to look up Equip Protein and discovered it was grass fed beef protein powder! And only that for the unflavored! That would have been so helpful to mention when that first came up. I almost turned off the interview until I looked it up. So glad I did look it up so I could enjoy the rest of your discussion together ! Maybe she has some kind of aversion to eggs?
We are all different when it comes to how we approach this journey to health and we don't all have to eat in some prescribed way. I'm happy that Martha found a way to make this work for her and hopefully you have as well.
I can't stomach bacon and eggs in the morning either, so I'm glad to hear of breakfast alternatives. But I don't think a sweet tasting shake is for me, because anything sweet tasting triggers my old sugar cravings.
Great interview! I too saw the magazine at the checkout and bought it. So of course when I saw this interview I had to go find the magazine again and reread Martha's story!! Thank you both!!
I think she either meant the equip bread (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GJ46lV3zLiY.html) or she meant the meat bread: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A6uvqQyCG8A.html
I use the unflavored for waffles and bread and have made muffins and cookies with the flavored. Once this bag of flavored runs out I will only order the unflavored as I find it too sweet. I think Martha uses both!
Wonderful interview. Congratulations Martha. Quick question: Have either of you ever used CGM (continuous glucose monitor) when you were on Keto before Carnivore? Did you monitor ketones? I’m trying to decide if I should be using these devices or are these an unnecessary expense? Thank you in advance for your reply.
I don't know about Martha but I have never used a CGM. I did for a 90 day period take my blood glucose and blood ketones every day as I was trying experiments to see what sorts of things affected those numbers. They are NOT necessary for success on Keto or carnivore as long as you avoid processed foods and keep your carbs as low as possible. They might be helpful if like me you were at a long stall and needed to experiment.
