Hey James, this is another great video. Thanks for posting! Your information has always been really great, but your video quality has become so much better and the camera angles of your demos are super helpful! Keep up the good work!
James I just want to thank you for all your videos. They helped me to be more knowledgeable. Especially, i don't look like a newbie anymore at our gym. I can now bench more than my body weight and have a healthy routine of work out set that works for me. Thanks again and can't wait for another video.
Thank you, Dr. James. I was the one who asked about metabolic flexibility. You videos are always so to-the-point and informative. I haven't had to deal with too many stresses in my life, but I think I will go pure keto for a while to see how it feels.
Great video on foundational and essential principles! Also, the three follow-ups listed are fantastic for rounding things out. Please keep up the great work, and thank you so very much for all that you do, Dr. James!
Hello there Dr James. Excellent presentation, very timely topic. Keto and intermittent fasting work, no doubt. Realising the concept that lite exercise and eating less will work and implementing this new healthy lifestyle is key. This is not taught in health class, even today.
I did Keto + IF for 15 months and shed off a whopping 90 pounds which was 35% of my initial weight. During that time I AlWAYS without exception, took a day and half off every week to eat WHATEVER I wanted. When I say whatever I mean it, and for whatever reason I was still able to shed off all of that weight keeping Keto and IF the rest of the week hard core. Maybe someone should research this.
I want to thank you for all these awesome videos. I tried keto but couldn't stick to it but I have cut my carbs way down I intermittent fast 16/8 with an occasional 24 hour fast plus I've started taking magnesium supplement and I'm proud to say that my blood pressure has come down and I have a ton more energy.
More videos on metabolic flexibility please! If you have a flexible metabolism, any other long term affects of going back and forth? Does Frequency rate of cycling affect these statistics (if someone is OMAD/Keto 5 days per week and 2 days on high carb)? Thank you!!
Dr. James, you are my go to guy when it comes to all things concerning nutritional science. I've been subbed to you for a while now I always enjoy listening to you spread your knowledge on all things diet related. Admittedly I intermittent fast on the regular (for weight management purposes). But whenever I come off my fast I totally subscribe to the flexible dieting approach cause I understand science and CICO absolutely is key concerning all things weight management related.
I busted through my set (stuck) point with fasting and consistent keto and exercise, and then i had a few binge nights and ruined my progress. i have a mental addiction to sugar and carbs that i must conquer. I might have to put the whole family on keto because the temptation of having things in the house is too strong, lol
I feel like you have the right explanation and you basically repeat that over and over again. Those claims vary in one aspect but are the same in respect to cut the shit out of our diet, eat less, fasting, etc... it all leads to lose weight and feel better. Nice clean science here. Thanks.
After following a low-carb diet for a while I suspected what you said in this video: that it's a fine means to several ends, but actually decreases metabolic flexibility in the short-term. Will be continuing the good habits in an attempt to increase flexibility.
