How Miles Davis Became the Face of Jazz 

Naw that more likely for a song like "Take the A Train." So what is the most popular song on Kind of Blues...but it hasn't really tapped into pop culture. Obviously this is my personal opinion.

​@@maximbelmont4641 I'd say both of your statements can be true: "So What" and "Take The A Train" are both ubiquitous, even among those not well-versed in jazz. Equally? Maybe not. But bear in mind, Carl simply posited that people who don't know jazz still know "So What." He didn't say it was the MOST recognizable song to this crowd, just that it's A recognizable song. Do more non-jazz people know "Take The A Train" over "So What?" Probably. But it doesn't make his statement incorrect. Besides, I'd argue "Girl From Ipanema" has all of us beat in this regard - there's probably some eight-year-old, barely graduated from finger painting, who knows the Getz/Gilberto staple because it once showed up on Peppa Pig or Cocomelon or something. Logically, your statement would be like if I said "even non-soccer fans have heard of Pele," and you countered with, "Nah, more people have heard of Beckham or Messi." While I'll concede your assertion, it doesn't render mine false. And the same applies to what Carl said. Everything in his post is pretty much irrefutable.
