It's amazing how little power it takes to get a fox into the 11's. I wish I had a fox, but I have enough projects sitting in storage to last me years. Hopefully you can get everything sorted.
Yea my tuneup was much more aggressive than what he put in it. But he cleaned up a ton that I was having issues with. I’ll bet with no more than 5 up arrow clicks in the holley software it’d make 30+ more hp lol
Are you thinking the head gasket is on backwards or blown? They have the antifreeze test kit for blown head gaskets. I don't think it's an air bubble but I like to drill a hole in the thermostat to help filling. Just grabbing at straws here you didn't change the rotation of the water pump did you? Good luck you will get it! What turbo and kit do you plan to run?
Dan how about you donate your mustache to “Mustaches of love” for people who can’t grow their own when you’re done with it! LOL 😂 The car sounds really good sorry things didn’t go better on the dyno. Looking forward to what comes next! Thanks, DC
Man I had the same problem with mine I changed the water pump didn’t help changed the thermostat and a new ford racing 4 core radiator still didn’t fix it then clutch fan followed by 2 electric fans still would get to 185 real quik then above 200 and it would climb 220-230 I was baffled so I’m an old country boy and some old timers told me to just take the thermostat out then drive it. I was like shit it’s worth a try, and still running 2 years later with no thermostat even sitting at the pits during the heat of the summer it would stay around 195 with the fans on. Once you start going it cools off to around 170 in my opinion it helps out. I live in Virginia it gets to 102 degrees in summer and 12degrees during winter at times. Takes it awhile to warm up and I put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to block some wind helps it stay warm while I’m driving. But isn’t a daily ride just weekend warrior.
There’s more in your setup. My 331 has AFR 185s and a TFS-R I take with a custom cam. All accessory and cats it made 335/335 to the tires with a super soft tune. Keep plugging away, also for the overheating did you need to trim the intake gaskets for your coolant ports?
Man you can't catch a break but I like your persistence and you will have a beast once you get it the way you want it and you are going to have to grow a big, thick, 70s style, Tom Selleck stache 😂 so that you can raise more money for charity, the thicker the better 🤣 but that sucks that you had problems on the dyno but we all know that it is making more than 307 to the tire from the way it runs at the track 👍🏽🚗🔥
Had a temp problem one time and I had put one head gasket on backwards pulled the head changed the gasket made sure I had it in right and it fixed the problem
We went 10.90 at 124 with hogged out gt40 heads, x303 cam and a victor jr! It put down 350hp to the tire, didn’t have any accessories either... the fox weighed in at 2450 with a driver talk about a cheap 10 second car haha
@@Texas_Road_Warriorthat’s awesome! My goal is to do a max effort 302 build carbureted but lots of weight reduction. I’d be happy with low 11s on the street.
Man you went 11s ....my 94 5.2 with a trickflow 170s otb 11/2 midlength from like a 66 stang f cam with 1.72 rockers 3.27 gears only went a best of 12.9 at 108 on a 245 all season . It dynoed 319 /335 so its just how dyno works with autos.
My fox makes around the same HP! It is a basic build, 351 heads, comp cam ETC. I need to fix the issue with hooking up. It spins so much that the best i could pull is in the 12s
Those are good numbers. Remove thermo stat also find if you have a blockage in a coolant passage. I have not watched any of your build just stumble across it. Go twin bigboy fan 3 core rad and really good electric pump. Or switch to cooler thermostat. Also dropping the fuel Injection and switching to carb if it's strictly a quarter mile car. Electric pumps and fans are great for waiting to run in the lanes as they keep running at the same speed. Or ice the rad before runs to keep Temps down. I switched to electric water pump and will never go back. But my fox is not a street car
Might have accidentally put one of the head gaskets on backwards or something, its really easy to do I done it one time but luckily caught it before I got too much further with the build
@@RegularGuyGarage it was probably something crazy and simple like the thermostat had a bit wedged in it so it wouldn't open all the way or silicone lodged in it or forgot to put it in 😂🤣😂 I give up but it's killing me to find out but hopefully you didn't have to tear it down to the block to find it cause it needs to give you a easy win as much as you have been through already 😁🔥🚗🧔
Honest guy ,,, 11s isn’t anything to be ashamed of, most production cars never made it into the 11s until the past 5-7 years. With the right tires and damn good driving it’ll still out 60 foot a lot of cars today on the streets. I was expecting 500 hp , can only go up from here good luck and great job
@@RegularGuyGarage nice! Never figured that as a possibility...will be writing it down in my tablet though. When I bought my 90gt, the previous owner put the thermostat in backwards....never showed hot but no warm air would come out of the vents when winter hit... unfortunately I drove it quite a she like that....gonna be replacing engine with a 351w
I had the same thing, I had the wrong intake gasket, the whole in the gasket was closed, in the rear of the gasket, check the intake gasket maybe the wrong gasket. Thank me later.
With twin turbos you will be above and beyond 400whp. My 347 is supercharged and made 497hp and 519tq at the rear wheels on a mustang dyno at 8.4lbs of boost!
What setup is your motor I have a 393w with refs heads and intake my heads are 170cc im buying AFR 205 and I have a custom grind game with shorty I only made 370 and 440 torque to the wheels it was about 89ish degree outside not corrected so I’m wondering how you made so much
The car looks totally gutted. I wonder how much your Foxbody weighs with compared to one with full interior? What intake, heads, cam and exhaust are you running? The car seems to run really well.
Thee fox interior depending on years the early four eyes interior is light like its the cheapest of cheap thin plastic its scary how flimsy the fox actually is and that just the whole car.
Just ask 5.0tussin.. he's done it in multiple foxes..and ltd's...302 stock motor..stock rotating assembly..gt40 heads..takes a lighter car..alot of gear..360hp to the rear in a Ltd 302 running 6.56 in the 8th
No water movement threw the heads and intake which it what Ford thing. If It was head gasket it would have blown its guts out the tail pipe on the dino.
New subscriber love the content so far. One thing i will say is Watch Project farms oilympics test he does.. Royal Purple is not good oil. Not terrible but ive seen blackstone reports where supertech scored higher..
I keep saying it all people need to do is put a modern transmission in a fox or any older modrn car like c5 vette all new cars have a 1000hp but weight 4000 pounds plus
last i seen your car and the engine ....the water pump belt is on wrong and the water pump is spinning the wrong way ....unless thats not a mustang water pump
@@arturo5819 it can't be full weight if it's 2860 they were like 3100 lbs stock even for a stripper notch back if there's 0 weight reduction. They're light but not 2860 full weight light.
Guarantee you got an air pocket in the cooling system most I doubt it’s a head gasket would either steam from exhaust or you’d be getting water in the oil pull the plugs of they all look good it’s not a head gasket if you got a head gasket leak water on the cylinder would be steam cleaning the pistons spark plugs and combustion chamber.
It's not about HP really. Torque and gearing. HP means very very little. I see cluelesss Hemi guys and guys go for 1000 HP. Yet clueless to proper gear ratio for the set up. HP means very little. I have seen stock block smallblck plain old 350 with headers big cam and 202 heads with 456 gears do 10 second runs. Only had 300 HP. HP means very little
@@RegularGuyGarage yep and like u said yall only ran it up to 5500rpm and u can easily run it up to 6500 easily and it would have made even more, I'd be willing to bet you are over 400hp at the flywheel because that thing rips and is blowing the tires off at the track and that's not easy with slicks and 300 hp and it_&&CD 5th v6⁷as well, I would say take the heads and get them milled while you have them off
Ppl have went 11s all motor in foxes for years with not alot over 300 rwhp. It's all in the suspension setup and trans etc. A stalled auto with a good suspension can get out the hole like a monster. I've seen fbo 90s cobras and 03-04 mach 1 sneak into the 11s with just over 300 rwhp and a steep gear, tire, good suspension and they weigh more than a fox and those were manual cars.
@@isaacabernathy8819 i don't know where you been but turning 6500rpm in a fox or anything for that matter with a 5.0 is done easily every day with good valve springs, I don't know why im wasting my time with this bs
