Hello Demi! I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart as a fellow Singaporean, for sharing your knowledge to all of us for free! As a self employed musician, I’ve spent countless hours searching all of Singapore’s banks and being disappointed at the fine print when it comes to just finding a bank for savings. Money is a sore point for many Asian families and so I’ve not known anything up until the start of this year! Chancing upon your videos is a ray of hope and I think you deserve to be thanked. So, thank you so much for being an inspiration and I wish you all the good energy in the world! And of course, lots more money 😆🥰
Aww really appreciate this! Let's keep going! 🔥 Yea I do understand the pain points as well, I've been using UOB One to do a manual transfer and indicate that as salary to fulfil the criteria then spend $500 on a card to enjoy the interest rates! Hope this helps a little.
Hi, I have just achieved liquid 100k at the age of 26 this year (excluding cpf). Im a ITE dropout. im currently earning a below average salary income. I travelled overseas more than a few times a year. All I did was to stay invested and invested heavily. Anything is possible guys😃✌️
My goal this year is to safely maintain and hit above $1mil. Had some rough investments that went bad. Properties overseas had good steady rent but capital did not gain. Some rash stock and crypto investments made me lose the million so I have to be a little smarter this time round. On the bright side, my income has quadrupled so it is easier for me to hit $100k every two months now. I'm aiming to save 80% so i have more funds to deploy in investments. To cut down on unnecessary expenses, except travel i supposed, love traveling. Happy to hit new milestones every year and turning 26 this month, I definitely do not regret my mistakes to be a better investor this time round
If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life
@StevenCowart-p4qAs a beginner investor, it's essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. George Powell is my trade analyst, he has guided me to identify key market trends, pinpointed strategic entry points, and provided risk assessments, ensuring my trades decisions align with market dynamics for optimal returns
I don't even leave comments on social media, but I feel compelled to coming across other beneficiaries of George Powell's prowess. Just wanted to let you know that you're doing a great job George. You have made a difference in my understanding of the trade market.
Impressive transparency in sharing your financial journey and strategy at such a young age! Balancing a solid emergency fund with smart investments in index funds and stocks demonstrates a well-thought-out approach to building long-term wealth. 💰
Thanks for the video Demi, i especially like videos like these where you reveal your net worth so that i can have a benchmark of where im at and where i could possibly be. I've always wanted to DCA into US ETFs (e.g. S&P, VOO, etc) myself but im scared that the exchange rate between USD/SGD may worsen in the future, which means the profit earned investing in them may be counteracted by the worser exchange rate (i hope that makes sense). I know that the earlier i start investing in them, the earlier compounding interest can work, but a part of me is still afraid of the losses? Do you have any advice/opinions and what are your thoughts on this? Is my concern about the exchange rate even a valid one?
I totally understand where you're coming from. Had that thought too at the start. I think thats why I don't put it all in just the S&P500, it's a portion of my investments. There is never certainty when it comes to investing and thats why I think, at least for myself, I do prepare for 'what-if' these kind of things happen i.e. investing in SGD assets + cash.
34 ,continued double mortgage payments, little under 5 years left. maxing out Roth 401k this year and I contribute to my brokerage acc about 1k every month. net worth millionaire by 40 is the goal , only debt is my home , I drive a 21 year old truck lol. net worth today is just over 400k , (brokerage acc, roth 401k, cash savings ,physical gold, home equity) enjoy your videos even tho I'm a American lol
I was in a phase of life where I was desperately finding a breakthrough. It felt similar to when I went paragliding, super scared before, but decided to 'just do it' and after jumping, it felt fine.
wonderful video demi, you are very well spoken and to the point, no unnecessary music and emotions, you explain numbers very well, will definitely follow you and your journey , btw i am new investor as well. i am learning things slowly.
Hi, maybe you explained it in some videos I haven't watched yet but are these figures always in USD or SGD? Great content especially for us just starting out!
Hey Demi! Could you share a little more how you managed to grow that $27k to $207k in just 2 years? I understand that a lot of it must have been really good saving habits on top of earning from your job, but most of it came from a diversified portfolio? That’s so impressive!
Hey Demi, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
Thank you so much for the wonderful contents. I currently have hospitalisation, PA, and life [late CI] insurances. should I get a term insurance for TPD, DE, and Early CI before I start investing? always have the thoughts where I need to protect myself before investing. Appreciate it if you could advise :)
But govt keep asking people get married early and give birth lei. Even if got double the amount is enough meh? Considering prices of house, preschools etc And not even including cost of vehicle which many parents swear is a must have.
Hmm I haven't gone to see what's in those funds as I've been doing my own REITs portfolio that would give about 5% dividends. I think those funds would be good for people who don't want to DIY?
@@DemiZhuang yea the fund consist of various stocks and bonds from various companies consolidated by the fund manager. But so far i havent seen anyone to mention about their portfolio having mutual funds when mostly are focusing at S&P 500
What advise do you have for a uni student with bank loan to pay? I'm conflicted between wanting to invest more or saving up now to repay my student loan in the next 4 years :(
I’d project out the numbers that I have to work with! Whats the loan %. What kind of investments are you looking at whether doing both repayment and investment is possible, otherwise I’d say, repay the loan asap. One less burden off my shoulders. (My own thoughts 😂)
love this for you!! All the best to you and also thank you for always sharing helpful and transparent content, really helps a lot especially when they don’t teach you these in school. I wish they did. Also it’s crazy bc I’m turning 27 this year and at the same milestone u hit last year as well! So this is really inspiring, thank you for sharing 🫶
Just to highlight to your viewers that should you intent to get a flat in near future, you will need 12 month of salary statement, and also certain employment has got 'haircuts' 😊
why did you only decide to take into consideration your cpf now and not back at 27 when you hit 100k purely cash? and also your cpf are you only looking at OA?
Hi Demi ! Paul here from Malaysia. You've got yourself a new sub ! :D I would like to invest in S&P 500 Index Fund but I am not sure on how to go about it ?
love your vids and thanks for sharing your journey! Interested on your take on crypto though, I know a lot of people got burnt in 2021 and have stayed away from it since but this current crypto cycle we are seeing much more promising worldwide adoption in the form of bitcoin ETFs. A lot of the largest financial institutions also own crypto. Personally I think crypto is the future of money and it's nice to have at least a little exposure to that.
How do you make so much from Adsense when your videos only get 5k average views? (Not trying to insult you, I know you have many videos over 15k too) I just assume Adsense pays so little unless you get 50k-100k views on average
@@ColouredPixels nope I'm not. Cos people like demi and myself, our generation are not able to afford those ridiculous HDB prices thanks to older people who keep buying and selling hdbs and ripping profits
@@royalemakersupercell i was replying to your question about you saying it’s unrealistic savings for those going to get married and have children when you literally need savings for exactly chose events of your life. and also don’t speak on behalf on demi did she tell you personally all of your assumptions that you made? o.O
@@ColouredPixels I'm not speaking on behalf of anyone. It's indeed true that it is unrealistic savings for those who have children and have a house to pay for . Isn't it? Unless you're some high flyer who can earn above 6K straight out of uni as a fresh grad
Is it possible to increase net worth with just 1 source of income? At least 4K a month for income. May not have the time to build side hustle for now due to other commitments
Yes I believe so. Keeping a high savings rate after all the necessary expenditures can grow your net worth overtime! Before doing all of this at my job I kept a savings rate of 60-70% monthly but it definitely takes a lot of discipline.
