In this video, Hanna presents the actual economics of owning an electric car over a period of four years. That is to say, how it has been for us in Sundhult. From the initial costs such as buying the car, loans, and interest, to recurring expenses such as insurance, tires, service, repairs, and of course, the cost of electricity consumption.
These figures are based on our circumstances, and depend on our ability to take out loans, how interest rates have varied over time, how we use our car, and how the price of electricity has changed. The hope is that it can give you, who are considering getting an electric car, or want to compare, an idea of what the economics of owning and driving an electric car look like. Hanna also talks about the considerations we made when we chose to get a Tesla Model 3 LR AWD and a bit about how we set up a calculation to make our decision about which car to choose and how we compared between a Tesla and a Volvo S60 four years ago.
If you want to see the calculation we made four years ago in more detail, you should read this article on our blog:

An example of what is not included in the video is that in our calculation at the time of purchase, the annual mileage is estimated to be 27,000 kilometers.
This video is a follow-up to our reporting on how it has been to own this Tesla Model 3 for four years.
