I remember back in the days of 2014-16 my friends and I would sit around cafeteria table hypothesizing how this series would end. Believing it would come down between one last race against Barry and Thawne as they battle through Crisis on Infinite Earths, with Flash ending with Barry sacrificing himself……….yeah I had my standards way too high for this show

The fact that Cecile had more character development and more plot towards her than Barry in the final season is outrageous

Episode 9 may have been the best episode because it was directed by Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin). She understood the characters, and was able to create a poetic ending for some. She may have had some insight on the script as well

I am genuinely baffled. Here's the main issues I found with the finale -khione is a god, how and why? -Cecile is more powerful than several speedsters and the entire negative speed force -savitar is stupid -godspeed is stupid -zoom is stupid -reverse flash lost 200 iq points -Eddie has the emotional maturity of a toddler -negative speed force IS a toddler -Barry didn't win a single fight -iris has the intelligence of a dumb bird -the entire final battle ended in about 5 minutes, each fight lasting a minute or less F. This. Show.

Daniel Panabaker(Aka Caitlin/frost/kione) directed episode 9 According to my research and she always directed the better episodes which explains why the episode was so good, I mean, returning wally, oliver, John, and having Daniel be the director is a formula for greatness

It's kind of amazing how bad the Flash ended. I had no delusions that this series was suddenly going to have a very good season(given the writers involved haven't shown themselves to be capable) but man, what a joke of a season/ finale. It's pretty fitting how this series is over, and the end of an era; an era of superhero TV that helped propagate the comic book media boom we saw ten years ago. And now we're seeing the decline in real time. I hope that Grant Gustin knows that it was never his(or any of the cast's) fault for why this series was bad. And that he can do good things after this. And thank you, G.l for covering this series throughout the years. Hopefully, one day the Flash can be adapted well.

Caitlin didn’t just appear in the pilot she appeared in the Arrow episode that set up the Flash

They could have explained in season 9 that Eddie being alive in any certain way is the reason why eobard keeps appearing every season of the show. For khione they could have just used Frost hair to genetically forced grow another version of frost that way they wouldn't have to kill Caitlin but instead they chose to just use Caitlin's body and make a new entity.

I think Madvocate will be happy to find out, that he doesn't have to do a TFIII for season 9, because G.I. Gio (basically) did it for him.

I still believe that the real finale of The Flash whole series should be about Barry fighting Thawne one last time, as Thawne then figures out The Flash's identity, goes back in time to kill him, and Barry follows him to save himself as a child and finally letting go of the past one last time, before he leaves Thawne trapped in the past, thus ending the circle

Eric Wallace did say he wanted to make the show his own, and Crisis is the perfect opportunity to do that. He successfully did it i guess.

I'm confused. If they establish an episode where Wally can project his consciousness into different universes using the speed force, it's kind of weird but I'll accept it since Wally is a speedster. Why give that exact power to a different random character whose main power set was emotion manipulation?? Why not just use Wally again????

The Oliver episode should have been the finale and the perfect send off to the entire Arrowverse

I got an idea to bring back Frost. They could’ve brought back her consciousness and have her combine with Caitlyn and have them be like Firestorm. It would both be a callback to the first season and a new twist on Killer Frost, since they wanted to bring her so badly but had nothing for her to do. At least I think it’d be an interesting change.

There is a justification to why Barry was trying to convince thawne to not kill his mom. It’s that the future that thawne is from is one where Barry’s mom is still alive. So you can assume that our timeline’s Barry could have tried to not break his from his cover because thawne has no idea that this Barry is not his timeline’s Barry. I was struggling so much to explain that so I’m hoping you could understand it😅😅

As someone who used to watch this show, it's a shame how it ended. Though at least you gave me a fun time with this video, so that's worth something. Excellent work, man! ^^

Several things, first Bloodwork's powers include being able to access other people's memories which we saw him do in season 6. Second, Bloodwork did not have to know Wally was there, he could have shown up for Barry and then changed his plan once he realized Wally would be more susceptible. Third, Eric Wallace had nothing to do with the episode, that is why it was so good. Edit: Almost forgot, Barry has known Thawne for nine years at this point, it is not that hard to believe that he knew that speech would not work. Lastly, I talked with someone else about this a while back and Barry talking Eddie down is not that much of a problem. Eddie is one of Barry's oldest friends and was actually a good person that fell to the dark side (pun intended). The problem people have is that this was overused in the show but this was one of the few instances it makes sense. That said, something that could have been better was if they had Thawne highjack Eddie's plan, forcing Eddie to work with Barry in order to stop them. Also making Eddie the Red Death instead of Cobalt Blue as that would have hit harder.

That transition to the sponser was so smooth I didn't even see it coming, unlike how a villian can notice the flash

G.I Gio this is my Final Paper on the CW The CW adapts characters from already established property to a real world. But the problem is that they dont know the direction to create charecters, or how to write a basic plot. A great example is Laurel lance earth 1 with her developing for a character fron olivers girl friend to the black Canary. And instead of developing that they kill her off because she did not have a place in the plot beacuse they dont know how to adapt characters. And the problem with CW plots is that they either are two short, they just exist for no reason , and the onlu episodes yhat really matter now is the crossovers. And the final main problem is creating new characters to support the already existing class. An example of this is kione( or what ever he name is) she setves nothing to the plot and just fills the void of killer frost and katlyn with out the emotional depth, and the thing i hated about her whole creation was that Barry faced no blame for what happened yo killer frost. Then there are instance were shipping just takes over the plot, like olicity filler and that one time stealer episode that served no purpose to the plot. I may not have seen full season 9 of the flash, but when a plot gets so boring that majes you want to fall asleep, in bot staying for that ride. I said my piece and I am out of cw ology. I was kinda hoping the team of Evil Speeders would immediately turn on each other and continue their own plans

What they did with red death was such a punch in the face. Genuinely one of the coolest characters ever. For context in the comics red death is Bruce Wayne. In that story Batman’s villains go absolutely crazy they all just start reaking havok on Gotham. Batman is older and he realizes that the only way he can defeat is to kill them all. But he also realizes that he’s not strong enough to defeat them. So he tries to enlist Barry to help him ambit Barry refuses. So Bruce decides to steal barry’s powers. So he outfits his Batmobile with a cosmic treadmill. He is able to capture Barry and he straps him to the hood of the Batmobile. He connects him to the Batmobile to siphon his powers. Batman then floors it and like a scene from back to the future the Batmobile disappears in a flash of lightning and fire. And then all of a sudden something appears. And it’s the most bad ass looking character ever. Batman was successful and became the red death. So Batman basically goes on a killing spree however in the process of combing the flash with himself Bruce can now hear barry’s voice in his head. Barry is still alive and aware of what’s happening. They took an incredible character like that and made it a fucking joke

The reason bloodwork escaped is because there was some comic book that was in the same universe as the show, and bloodwork escaped at the end of it, and that led up to season 9. The comic books are in between seasons im pretty sure.

That was an amazing video. Not just the analysis itself, but the effort in to the editing and everything. Fantastic job. I hated season 9. H.A.T.E.D it! 3 filler eps that could have been used to create a better finale was one of my biggest gripes, but hey, we saw Oliver Queen come back in a great episode. My biggest gripe? Cecile projects her mind to 2049...AND NO ONE HAS AGED! Chester, Alegra and Cecile all look the same. Also, if Cecile was on Team XS at that point, she would be in her 60s or 70s. Though she does pull the leather look pants off quite well.......BUT IT DIGRESS!

Am I the only one who is wondering how Barry knows about the Cosmic Treadmill. The only time this was used before was by Godspeed In the Future. It literally hasn’t been made yet.

One thing that really hurt the ending was that Grant got covid during the filming of the finale, so they had to cut a lot of the ending out

Way back at the very first episode of the series, I thought Rick Cosnett looked a whole lot more like the Barry Allen of the comics than Grant Gustin did. So I was glad to see Rick back at the end of the series becoming a speedster himself. (And, of course Grant was a fantastic Barry!)

I've seen Wattpad shipping fanfictions have better writing than season 9 of the Flash.

The reason he “tried to convince Thawne to stop” is as an act because he knows that no matter what Thawne will go through with it and nothing will change. He didnt actually expect his arch-enemy who hates his entire existence to not go through with killing his younger self given the chance. Other than that ur entire video is valid and I love it.

The "retcon" that you speak of is the actual origin from the comic lore. It's really not a retcon, but an in-depth explanation of the first origin given on the show, since it wasn't really detailed

I think one of the most interesting things read deaths plan would’ve worked, even if the cosmic treadmill idea worked because of how DC timelines work because once a diversion point happens and that timeline goes on for long enough, it basically becomes its own separate dimension so she wouldn’t need to help someone like gypsy if she wanted to get back to her place, not time travel

Oliver had to come back and remind everyone it's not the Flashverse but the Arrowverse. Was a miracle to have gotten that good of an episode. I am happy Matt got to do Reverse Flash one last time, prefer him over Tom. It is sad the show went out on a disappointing or at least a kind of low note. Also what in the world were the writers thinking with Khione ex machina, and Cecile.

I would like to add that if Jay Garrick temporarily stole Eddie's Negative Speed Force, doesn't that mean that the Negative Speed Force should affect him ? Like Negative Speed Force litteraly dampen the Speed Force of a speedster so imagine if you absorbed it.

It had such a strong beginning. And yet it ended in the most embarrassing way possible. The Flash is a series that part of me regrets that I’ve stuck with for 9 years.

What makes the Red Death arc worse s that it was hyped up and teased all the way back in season 5 , and many people including me ,were looking looking forward to finally seeing batman, or even arrow as the red death. I was really excited to see the red death because he is such a menacing villain, i was also looking forward to the introduction of the dark multiverse...and then we got this.

My problem with Cecil, on top of what already was mentioned, was that she always announced she could feel whatever emotion was being felt. The other members of the team already know her powers & they added that sound for us viewers to know when her power activates. So she doesn’t need to announce it all the time. She’s always announcing “I feel…or I senses…sudden waive of *enter any emotion*….“. I get it makes sense in some scenarios, but it got so annoying when she would say it nearly every time she used her powers. Just mentioned the emotion you’re feeling without making a big announcement about it. She would be so extra with some times🤦‍♂️.

If they wanted to get rid of Caitlin, shouldn’t they have just re-merged her and Frost in order to revive them as Khione?

This is indeed one of your greatest videos, Gio. It truly does convey how much of an atrocious ending the final season really is, which of course isn't surprising after all the damage and disingenuous storytelling The Flash has done over the years. I'm not sure if I ever went into detail on how much this show has negatively affected me, especially when I was a loyal fan when it first began 9 years ago. Even if seasons 1 and 2 aren't well written and I wouldn't say they are the best superhero content, I still those first two seasons for being a nostalgic piece of my early teenage years and they exposed me to the world of live-action television. As the show went on, I started to get bored and exhausted, but what I didn't realize that the problems were worse than boredom. The show on every level from plot to characters since season 3 is an abomination that just disgusts me and is one of the worst things I've known in my entire life. Every time I watched a new episode since season 7, I felt nothing but a hollow feeling from what I'm seeing on screen and it just crushes my soul. What's worse is I seem to find myself thinking about the many atrocious aspects if this show and I'm more than happy that it's finally over. But now, I'm determined to correct what this show has destroyed. I'm planning to rewrite the entire show from beginning to end. I'm making small changes to seasons 1 and 2, but I'm completely remaking the rest of the show from the ground up. Different plots, different main villains and a different production studio than the CW for better effects and acting. For example, I'm going to make Wally more accurate to his Kid Flash comic counterpart and have the Wally we got be Wallace West in the future. Another change I'm making is have Caitlin be Killer Frost without the split personality, but she's not really a villain and will be more so a tragic antagonist with sympathetic motives. Also, I plan to have season 6 to be the final season and have the Red Death be an antagonist......but he'll be Bruce Wayne from an alternate earth like from the comic. With that all said, another great video. I'll conclude by saying this to the minds who made the many poor decisions in this show......."Cartman voice" Screw you guys, I'm going home!

Episode 10 doesn't change the timeline because it was fated for Barry to meet his parents. It wasn't a timeline change or at least it was fated in the new multiverse. And Thawne's hate does kinda support his betrayal of Barry, but yeah I think their brief origin of seeing his fate in the past to be the reverse flash is way better. Also Barry giving that talk to Thawne won't change the fixed point because he already knew Thawne won't listen to him because of his ego and their conversation earlier which he confirmed that Thawne wins. So Thawns wouldn't listen to Barry.

It's literally the most cliche thing to have one of the characters be pregnant in the end of the show

Reverse Flash: You want to know why the show sucked with the final season being disappointing. It was me Barry. I was the one who got the original director fired and replaced with one who didn't know what he was doing and made Ezra Miller do what he did. It was all my doing.

I was so afraid of the CW giving Oliver Queen the same crappy return Marvel gave Daredevil on She-Hulk. But, thankfully, they gave Arrow the respect he deserved. But not even HE could save this trash season.

Something that I will always say about the show in the end is that no matter how bad it really was. It was oddly pretty entertaining to watch and I could never explain why so I’d say they accomplished their mission at making entertaining television

CW's Flash may have got worse over the years, but your videos, Gio, they've improved and got better. Thank you for entertaining me for so many years and saving me time from watching the show. We can learn from Flash's mistakes and dream of how it could've been so much better. I still hold on to good memories of Season 1 & 2

oh and about part 1 of the finale and the eobard stuff: while it was great to have that "full circle" stuff and address seeing that side of things with barry saving his child self and all that, the show seemingly tries to tell us "season 9 barry was ALWAYS the future barry there that night" retconning it being the version that followed eobard back as previously understood. the thing is that (as stated in the video) Eobard is from the "original timeline" where barry grew up with his parents. so is there an original timeline or not? the show can't decide

Great video. Also want to bring up this because it really bothered me. When Savitar confronts Nora in the Finale, he says “Your Mother escaped her fate. But you won’t!” But like WHAT! Savitar’s whole deal in season 3 was that he killed Iris to drive Barry into becoming Savitar. So in his timeline, Nora should not exist. So HOW DOES HE KNOW WHO NORA IS???? And why doesn’t he have more of a reaction to himself having a daughter. Or did the writers actually (in Madvocate voice) “kinda forgot” that Barry is Savitar 😂

Great video! Really enjoyed it. One thing to remember while re-writing the season is to remember the budget the writers had. Every single re-write I've scene for this show forgets how small of a budget it has. So I would love to see someone take that into account. If anyone were to do it, it would be you. Not that the show established it well, but in the comics the Cosmic Treadmill is perfectly capable of multiverse travel. Each universe has a unique vibrational signature the speedsters can detect, so the machine just sets that and you align with the proper place. Alternate timelines and parallel realities are identical in this respect.

Hey, Gio! I recommend you check out My Adventures with Superman, because 1. It’s REALLY good. 2. It portrays Superman FAR better than the DCCU did during its tenure (None of which is on Henry Cavill, BTW). 3. Clark and Lois’ dynamic in the show is absolutely adorable. Seriously, this might be my favorite version of the two alongside Superman VS The Elite (I haven’t watched any of Superman and Lois, which I’ve also heard is pretty good). 4. It’s got a really intriguing mystery running in the background. 5. I think it’s a show you could use considering all the negativity you’ve gotten from watching later seasons of The Flash.

honestly, iris packing heat was the closest thing to a sensible way of dealing with a criminal the flash tv show did in every season past 4-5 and with the whole "Caitlyns Right" thing is just an auditory trick cause in the scene it can be heard as "Caitlyn's Right" and "Kione's Right"

So we’re finally Here,the Last of the 9 Lives of the Flash and the End of the Arrowverse,so I thought that this Season Finale was going to be Bad all because of Eric Wallace Himself,I was Right but I didn’t know it was Going to be this Horrendous that I can say it’s the Worst Season of the Flash,If I had control over this I would have made 5 Parter Episodes of a Legends Farewell Special with the OG Rogues and the Main Villains being Lady Khonos and Red Death being a Corrupt Oliver from Another Earth that Fused himself with Zoom and Godspeed destroying his World that blames it on Barry so he hunts down every Speedster and Variants of Barry to Achieve Control without Team Flash,3 Parter Episodes of Bloodwork taking Control on Every Hero like Kara,Ralph,Cisco,Black Lightning,Wally,Martian Manhunter,Jesse,and so much more that Oliver and Barry have to Team Up before Ramsey Wins on taking the Multiverse,Make Chester and Allegra have a Relationship in One Episode and Joe and Cecile Leave with their Daughter,make the Villains more Evil without Redemption,Barry being so Powerful he doesn’t need Help from Others Anymore,make Frost Return but it cost Caitlin to never Return,and Finally the last 4 Episodes make a Better Version of Barry coming in Full Circle with his Past,Barry Trapped in Timelines fighting Zoom,Savitar,and Godspeed as Threats to Reality,and finding out that Eddie’s Son from the Future he didn’t know discovers his Father’s Death with a Mask,Mimic Abilities,and a Sword and wants to end the Flash and his Legacy but Barry saves Malcolm from the Time Wraiths so that Eddie and the Thanwe Legacy doesn’t go in Vain and Hatred so the call a Mutual Trust in Each Other as the Avatar of the Speed Forces go to their Separate Timelines and it ends with Barry saving People in the End while Running,so it was so Easy to Make a Simple Story but do we get that right? Wrong Dead Wrong Instead of Celebrating the History the Arrowverse All we Got is a Sitcom Drama that should have been called Eric Wallace’s Team Flash starting Cecile,Allegra,and Khione,the Red Death Arc was Dumb as Hell that it doesn’t make sense with the Good and New Rogues being Laughable with Red Death being someone from a Parody Fan Film that isn’t even Funny,the First 3 Interlude Episodes that are a Waste of Time that could have added so much more like saying Goodbye to Characters we knew in the Past,Episode 9 and 10 are Good and have better Epilogues than the Finale,and the last 3 Episodes made me Realize a Couple of Things but before that I have something to say Episode 5 and 6,for a While I didn’t know what was the Problem with Eric Wallace but I think I figured it out,It wasn’t the Flash or his Amazing Lore he was in Love with,it was Cecile Horton,Eric is In Love with the Cecile Actress,it’s not even a Joke as She’s the Only Character in the Flash that gets Privilege Treatment than the Main Character Himself being Extremely OP and has a Suit from someone else in the Comics that I swear they wasted the Whole Budget on it that explains why Season 9 felt Cheap and should’ve left the Show with Joe,anyway back on Track Chester and Allegra and Eric’s favorite Ship that didn’t do Nothing,Mark is a Ralph Ripoff without the Charm and is a Mega Simp that even Mordecai from Regular Show is Normal in Comparison,Khione is a Plot Armor that Fix Every Problem without Barry fixing it himself,Grant and Candice look Bored and Miserable in the last episodes even though they are pulling their Best,so the Forces are Dead and the Negative Speed Force creates more Questions than Answers,aside from Godspeed that was always Terrible and gave his Comic Book Counterpart’s Personality to Red Death and Savitar was always Underrated,they Massacred The Reverse Flash and Zoom with Terrible Performance,Dialogues,and Personalities that’s an Insult to 80s and 90s Cartoon Villains,all Barry does is Talk to his Enemies,gets knocked out before someone saves Him,do the whole I’m not gonna to Fight You Crap,and doesn’t do any Speedster Fights,Hell there’s Barely Fights in this Season and I don’t buy the Budget being Short or that Grant was Sick,they could’ve delayed the Finale and the Rush It before the Flash Movie,We needed to see Cisco,Ralph,Harry,Jesse,Kara,John,Brainy,Jefferson,and Wally for at least 1 or 2 Episodes but Eric wanted his Favorite Characters that are Useless,and the Worst Thing about this is that all it give us was Negative Thoughts and it felt like a waste of Time and Months of seeing a Once beloved Comic Book Adaptation becoming this Generic Fantasy of giving the the Showrunner wanted and not what the Series Needed,the Flash Started Strong but later became a Parody and a Joke,Maybe a Flash Series was a Mistake as the Character is too OP with Expensive Effects,it has it’s Ups and Downs and All Arounds but it’s Finally Over and now I can Rest from this Madness and Go Forward to Other Things,Great Videos as Always G.I Gio and see you Next Time.
