I recently changed the ignition lock cylinder out of a 2000 Saturn ls1, now I get no response from all power locks. No lock , no unlock, no sounds of actuator movement. Car starts fine. Ignition , when turned off , usually initiates door unlock , but now it does not. Might I have triggered something with the anti theft or maybe left a cable unplugged? No “Security” illuminated on the dashboard lights.

And some models some cars the computers have to be reprogrammed specially the modules for body control module try your best good luck and keep me informed

If you would have a security you would have a problem of starting the car because the anti-theft system module is activated or if there's a problem with the anti-theft module you would get such a message but obviously able to start the car

If the battery was dead how did the woman drive it to your shop ? Testing the battery would be the first thing you do. Think I'll put out a crank no start video and at the end determine they were just out of gas

L if the battery is dead because of a parasitic load drain or the alternator and computer did not replenish it or recharge it you can still get a boost as she did. About testing the battery it's just not enough to put a multimeter cross it you have to do a load test for the current cold cranking amps which I hadn't made videos about which many people do not have this particular equipment but you cannot just put a multimeter cross it and think that the current is enough

If you see my other channel Joe electronics schematics for Auto I make videos about how to use a low tester on the battery two different types one that measures the resistance of the battery and one that puts out cold cranking amps on this channel even in the morning when your battery is dead for whatever reason that I specified before I specified in other videos you can always boost that battery unless that battery is so weak which I doubt and that if the instrument cluster is not even lit that means you're not even getting 10 volts or you do not have any type connection to the positive or negative terminal of the battery

The other point being in the video that sometimes a customer will say it there's a no start meaning the battery is dead that might be the problem but the real problem is it's a crank and no start by cranking the engine so much you just drain the battery which makes you think that it is a battery problem and actuality it's not it's the diagnosis and the complaint of the customer sometimes that's misleading that's the point of the video thom in a crank and no start it's a fuel pressure problem a spark problem compression problem ignition timing problem crankshaft position sensor camshaft position sensor way different analysis

And believe it or not there are situations where the customer doesn't know that the vehicle doesn't have gas in it not everybody is very familiar with everything on gauges in the car sometimes the gauges are not even properly accurate

What in the power door lock actuator fuck? You made a 6 minutes and 32 seconds long video claiming to explain "How power lock doors work" "from the wiring diagram" to tell the world that they won't work if there isn't any power? PROBLEM SOLVED .

Body control module control these locks I don't understand your question ❓

If you look at my channel for more videos you'll see that the body control module also known as micu for Asian cars is responsible for the accessories meaning that I don't want people to think everything is a switch a motor problem sometimes you have to reprogram the module thank you for your comments
