How shocked are you the Maple Leafs won Game 5? Did starting Joseph Woll put Toronto over the top? Do you get a sense Auston Matthews could play Game 6? Bryan Hayes and Frankie Corrado join SC with Jay Onrait to break down.
I don't care what anyone says. If you're a Leafs fan, you would rather see them live to see another day and hang on to hope than have the season be over.
@@christophgeorgey3250Depends on your age bracket. In my age group I’ve seen this team of bitch made Prima donnas drive people away in droves. I want it over so the Management can turf the coach, see about trading Marner and even listen to offers for Auston. #34 isn’t it. Great regular season numbers but doesn’t have the X factor to separate himself from the other elite forwards. Of course they won’t, but I don’t want them to hold onto him until he’s on the decline or gets hurt. It’s been too long with no reward and he’s as responsible as anyone else on the team.
The Leafs are a good team. Leafs are limiting Bruins offensive chances, and the biggest problem for the Leafs is out of their control - they are facing the best goalie in the playoffs.
Leafs are back home now and have squandered the obvious gambit of volunteering to play game 6 in Boston. Failing that, I think at least you have to keep Matthews out of the lineup by hook or by crook. It forces Marner's hand to make stuff happen on his own
How ironic is it that Toronto has to put all its hopes on a rookie goalie (who was a back-up) two days ago if they hope to win anything in these playoffs whilst they have 4 forwards and 1 defenceman signed up for over 50 million of the 90 mill cap (that's assuming the cap will hit that mark next year)....There's just no acceptable excuse for that. Its not just looking at this year either, the top 4 guys have gone almost 10 years providing the same failures every playoffs and show no indication that they are capable of making a difference now. Thats not bad luck or a case of being snake bitten when it applies to 4 different guys consistently over the span of a decade...You can't say these guys are going to turn it around (at this point they will never deliver, management has to accept that or else we're signed up for this same torture for the next decade too). I believe the players can make a difference to a team as individuals, but not on this team structure. The model is a complete BUST. Regardless of what happens going forward two of the 4 guys need to be moved out. Leafs need a goalie and a defenceman...Unless the leafs win the cup and the skill guys take over the rest of the playoffs this has to be the year the core group gets split apart. Even if they made the cup final on the back of a hot goalie you still trade em. A hot goalie can cary any group on their back but if you improve the team defence composition it will make it alot easier for him.
I read the rest 😂 we only had 2 periods of play where we had all 4 core guys playing Willy had migraines or sum n matthews has been sick most of the series I do agree they need to split up the group if they don’t go far they’ve had enough chances together
As a Bruins fan it was no surprise at all. Toronto fans need to realize that the Bruins are just as big as choke artists as the maple leaf's are. I fully expect a game 7 back in Boston where both teams can decide who should move on to get smoked by the Panthers.
lol. I love the last sentence. At the end, either wins will get smoked by the panthers. Btw I am a leafs fan saying this. Both teams are just walking into their execution.
I had this picked as a fairly even series, Boston in 7. So yes I expected the Leafs to be doing better than they have been. Good for them to get the win.
Anyone who's "not surprised" was kidding themselves. Matthews out of the lineup put the Leafs at a huge disadvantage, and they squeaked out a win. Great goaltending wins playoff games. Woll was incredible.
It puts Boston at a disadvantage also because they don’t necessarily know how to approach a leaf team without matthews in the lineup. This happens all the time during the regular season. Basketball included. When the best player is out, that team normally rallies for a couple games before falling back down to earth. It throws a curveball into this series in terms of bostons adjustments.
Every player on leafs played their heart out… maybe because matthews wasn’t playing. No need to look for matthews to pass to, could be reason they played so well
Called the win❤🎉😊Played like they wanted it .That attitude will carry them into a 7th win🎉❤😊Round #2 just like last season.A second chance for the Leafs TO TAKE the panther's and then the LORD STANLEY CUP🎉😊We are capeable BELEAF❤🎉
Yeah. For instance, Some people say nylander didn’t have a good game. But there are moments in the game where his skill set keeps possessions alive whereas lesser players in those same situations would be coughing up the puck and it leads to opportunities for the other team.
Happened in 2013 vs the Bruins, Happened in 2018 vs the Bruins. If you don't believe the Leafs are winning Game 6 vs the Bruins just based on precedent to force Game 7. Than I don't know what to tell you. Happened twice already within the last decade abeit different teams
If you’re referring to his speaking, he suffered a stroke years back and that’s why he speaks like that. I hate seeing people bashing his commentating.
@@DiscoCubeHDHe never had a stroke and the segment never makes fun of HOW he talks, just the stupid stuff he says. Which he's been doing for over a decade
For anything to change they need to lose bad. Knowing the Leafs they will win Game 7 and get swept by Florida. Just enough delusions to keep the core four for next year.
@@user-xb8js5mo6f Of course, I knew I'd be open to this criticism by a dimwit. Who cares? You miss the point, Mr. Brilliant. Keefe leads with a guy who consistently has been erratic, not been able to battle and lets in soft goals. I'll speak slowly... The criticism is of Keefe, not Samsonov.
Can we talk about how maybe this team should develop a hard-nosed, on the road mentality? Maybe they lose at home because they go back to their comfortable homes and don't keep that fire going of the playoff grind...
The Canucks (Arturs Šilovs) also had good goaltending via their 2-1 regulation loss to the Preds but both the Canucks and Leafs Also played relatively defensively-responsible games unlike the Winnipeg Jets (6-3 losers to an Avs’ team that eliminated them in 5 games in that 1st-round series).

Just imagine what his trade value would be. I am old enough to remember the Lindros trade away from Quebec. The return (with the exception of Patrick Roy) created a dynasty for many years. While Eric never won a Cup, Quebec (Colorado) was never the same after the trade.
@@Tiglath-PileserXIX Clearly Mcdavid will be a part of the Mathews trade and Auston will only stay in Edmonton for 2-3 years while they scoop easy Cups with King Leon wearing the "C". It will take Mcdavid 2-3 years to catch up for the rivalry to build. Mcdavid will have spent 10 years trying to win a Cup in Edmonton and IMHO he will give his wifes Career the ten after that to bloom and blossom in T.O where those things are possible for her to achieve. They are NHL Hockeys Power Couple.
I said Boston in OT before I knew Woll was starting and that the refs wouldn’t give the leafs one infraction and gave them how many pps complete joke spoon fed win
I kinda wish they will claw their way back in this series and win game 7, and get swept in the next round. Just enough to give Leafs Nation hope and keep the core four and Keefe and Shanahan for next year. Wouldn't that be a kick to the head?
I can just see Bettman doing all he can behind the scenes to set up a Vegas vs. Toronto Cup finals... His favorite golden goose franchise vs. the biggest Canadian/world-wide market? Viewership ratings through the roof on that one Also, it would be such a peak Leafs thing to just bullshit their way to a Cup final through sheer dumb luck.
Boston played bad in the first period , PERIOD. The great thing about hockey is that it only takes one shot, hence ot. This is the first time I've questioned Montgomerys coaching decisions. Why would you take Shattenkirk and Beecher out for Grezlyk and Brazeau. Beecher was playing well, adding more speed on the 4th line. Don't get it
@@Adajrnsu19 woll has been great and samsonov too. game 1 sure the goalies sucked, but every goal boston scored after game 1 was nearly impossible to stop
Here we go again? Maple Leafs in 7. After last year and the Bruins have no sense of urgency. Montgomery has no idea how to coach when needed. Fire him!

And they did get an explanation during the game, just Jack being this usual lousy homer announcer. Onrait you need to do a better job watching the entire video.

It aint the first time they fluked a win. They should trash half that team and totally get rid of the front office and shanaham. He is living proof that ex hockey players shouild have nothing to do with building a team. You cannot put this entirerly on the coach. I think the most laughable is the fans paying 20k for season tickets to support these clowns.
