The Mortal Kombat franchise is decades-old at this point with multiple sequels, reboots, comic book tie-ins, movie adaptations, and more. As such, there's been a myriad of interpretations of the various super-powered ninjas, monsters, and cyborgs that fight for players' amusement in the games. 2021's Mortal Kombat is no different, offering up new spins on many of the classic fighters of the franchise and adding in the concept of an Arcana power to standardize the various unconnected Kombatants. He was made purely for the movie. Scorpion actor is pretty old and Scorpion is like Batman of MK. The coolest character. I am assuming the mantle of Scorpion will eventually be passed on to cole. No one's interested in such a lazy character. His power is literally plot armour.

You forgot Reiko he's a character from Mortal Kombat Gold or 4. He's appearance with glowing blue eyes and black markings on his face and he made a appearance in the movie he's that guy Jax clapped fatality after their fight.

The ending makes me think they want that for a sequel, pretty sure they mention the real tournament is still ahead and then there is the outro. Personally I liked the movie, its fun like you said and as far as game movies go it could have been far, far worse.

Between the two Mortal Kombat movies in the late 90s and this so called Mortal Kombat reboot, majority of the fans felt like the main protagonist and other Main characters took a huge backseat in this movie, such as Liu Kang and Raiden, so the lead protagonist spot was given to a character named Cole, also another insult is that the character reptile was a bit of a let-down in this movie because he was killed off easily by Kano by having his heart ripped out.

I think the MK movie or even a sequel will not be enough to flesh out the characters and allow us fans to truly enjoy them.....MK should have been made into a SERIES...that way the developers can take their time and expand on the characters giving their back story and everything we need about them....just like in the game....a 2hr movie is not enough...we need it in a series... Who agrees?

It was a fun film for Mortal Kombat fans but I thought it went too far away from its source material with 3 major flaws I hated 1: We didn't need a new character in Cole Young in the movie because it's someone we know nothing about and nor did we care about 2: Reptile looked ridiculous, if this movie was based of pre Mortal Kombat (before the tournament) then Reptile should've been in his human form like how his backstory depicted him as 3: Sub-Zero should NOT have been the primary villain, Bi Han was not the one who murdered Hanzo Hasashi's family so he was never a villain in the game, Shang Tsung should've been the main villain

I was so disappointed that Scorpion only showed up in the beginning and the end. Hopefully he’s featured more in the sequel and NOT have the writers give OC Cole the mantle instead. Sorry but I didn’t like any of the Young family and felt they really weren’t needed.

Actually not really if they wouldnt introduced cole to be so important and stayed more true to the games it would have been better. Not saying the scorpion story is trash wit cole bcuz when he came back was my favorite part but making cole have a whole family to take care of puts to much importance to him to live and be a main character when we want to see more true MK characters on screen. Also i wouldnt have a problem wit the movie if they didnt kill off kung Lao by far the best fighter they had n best fighting scenes. I feel like between him n kano they made the movie more interesting. if not it would have been just no comedic scenes or some 1 who embodied the characters as much as they both did. Cole should have died scorpion comes back with the blood of cole and have coles family be some where protected. And away so the story can continue having to be more about the games and not a random character. And again i like the movie its good but it could have been better. I hope MK2 will be

@@petter215jones Exactly, fans expect an adaptation of their favorite franchise to be perfect when with something like TMNT and MK they have decades worth of history to cram into a 30 minute per episode tv series or 1-2 hour long movie. Fans can be ungrateful, I've had my fair share of being pissed at a adaptation of something like for example the Sonic movie, it was good but it had a lot left to be desired, I still like it even for its flaws. MK fans seriously being this ungrateful makes me worry for the potential sequels but when you bite the hand that feeds you, karma will happen
